I was wondering if someone could give me their voltage under load with a .8 ohm coil. I'm using aw imr 18650 2000mah fresh charge 4.21 volts no load. Under load i'm getting 2.68 volts. That seems rather low. I search and found the average internal resistance of the same battery is around 100 mOhms. All my contacts are clean. And the battery is only a couple of weeks old.
Thanks

Granted, I just grabbed a battery from my drawer of charged batts, so would guess it's been in rotation for a few months but here's what I'm measuring (0.8ohm 2/3 0.6mm ribbon):

I got my did a week ago and for the most part have it running pretty good. My problem is that I can get all the coils to glow and it vapes great.. then the performance diminishes.. I check the resistance and it has gone up, then it goes down, then goes up again ect.. why would the resistance fluctuate? It'll be vaping great for a couple days then, not. I syringe out the juice, and burn the coils and have hotspots. I worked any hotspots out to begin with. why would I keep needing to adjust it so often? Is this just the nature of gennys? I have a zap and it never needs adjusting, the resistance never fluctuates. I've been using 30g 3 wraps.. I just recoiled it with 28g 3 wraps. Right now it's reading 1.8ohms. Using a provari.

I absolutely love this thing and maybe I just need more practice with it. Any advice for my particular situation would be appreciated. The wick I have in it is fat. I didn't oxidize the hell out of it but I did burn it some. I only burned the top part of the wick where the coil wraps around it.. I left the bottom that goes into the tank alone. Maybe my wick is the culprit.
Thanks

One trick that can help is to turn the wick 1/4 turn instead of doing a full dry burn nudge thing. Also, be sure you are tightening the bottom nut on the top cap when your DID is tight on your PV. I had a similar situation and it turned out the center post was pushing up when I screwed it into my PV and settling back down when I pulled i off to check (very sneaky...)

Thank CW. That's a fare bit higher. I don't like how the ZAU is constructed. There's a hot spring that runs up the center tube that looks like SS. Plus that tiny little retractable pin in the 510 connector. That's probably where my loss is coming from. My wife has a AGA T+ (shes very rough on equipment) and it has less voltage loss than my ZAU. I'm shopping for something else. I'd get a DID but I like the streamline look of an 22mm RBA on the Poldiac. Any recommendations.

Jim's been "teasing" about a new 22.6mm DID to match perfectly (to be available soon). On the electrical thing, I have replaced all my posts/nuts with SS - I wonder what the difference would be if I put back at least the brass center post (might try next time I rebuild).

Then the rush will be on again! think he gave a hint as to when but I can't find it. As for the brass post I didn't do any measuring but I didn't notice any change in the vape.
And as for the 0.6 ribbon reckon all I needed to order was a couple of metres, have just done wick wash and dryburn of coil 4th and coil still looks new and still holding steady at 1ohm....great!

I've been hunting for a quality 22mm Genny as well. I'm hoping that Jim announces something before I find one because I'd rather support him. seems like anything of quality requires you to be on a list. I'm on two lists but neither Genny is really what I want. In my perfect little world the atty would be 22mm, have a glass tank with the o-rings hidden by ss, have a slip on top that fits securely, a reduced air-flow top and classy lines. That's not askinig too much is it??? Oh, and adjustable air hole would be nice too! :hubba:

CW. Do me a favor please? Can you take a voltage reading with a mm holding the leads against the positive and negative posts while firing, and then a reading between the pv and atty like you did above and share what you get? The reason I ask is that I'm told these measurements are not the same and I have a very hard time believing this to be true. I gave away my inline meter so I can't check the voltage in that manner.
Thanks.

Oh Pete54
you are great
and I like you because you do not ask much
and everything you ask are so easy to do!

you forgot the line up of the logo or serial or airhole!!

do you want it to take your kids to school maybe?

hahahhahaahh

will do all the above though!!!
;)

I have faith in you Jim! Actually, I'll probably get whatever design you come up with but hey, I can dream, right?

Being able to line up the air hole where I want it would be enough for me LOL

I'm interested in a "D22" Genni from MMVapors as well. 22mm only because of the form factor to match the Poldiac, since it has been talked about that the D16 chamber produces flavor that ranks it among the best already. A lot of options for Jim. Maybe it's best to have it exactly the same as the D16 in inner chamber dimensions and curve angles (don't fix what isn't broke), but I don't know enough about the swirl effect of air to suggest improvements. I've also seeing a trend where the outer cap is moving toward more of a "flat-top" look, which is pretty sexy, so that may also be a new look for people who have the Gemini.

Just some input from a fan/customer. Whatever it is, looking forward to seeing the result!

I just watched a review where the guy said that the did didn't like the provari. But that was back a few months ago with the other screws. Has this issue been resolved with the thumb screw and the extension screw on the pos post?

I have no clue what this issue entails, I was one of the first people to get a DID almost a year ago now. I have always used it on my Provari until I recently got the Poldiac. There are no problems as far as I know with the DID on the Provari. My first DID has the brass contacts and my other DID's have the newer SS post and nuts. All of them work just fine on a Provari.

The only thing that I can think of with any Genesis on a Provari is the amp limit of the Provari. You simply cannot go below a 1.0 ohm coil. But that has everything to do with Provari and nothing with the DID.
