Thanks everyone for helping me to get these Genesis's working. I had no success using the 32ga wire, and once I got the 30ga wire I can't get this thing not to work

To do a new coil on my wick, I have been taking the wick out and burning the juice off of it, then recoiling it. The flavor has been diminishing with my wicks every time doing this.

Should I be rinsing the wick instead of burning it? What do you do when re-coiling it?

Also, I wrap the 30ga 3 wraps at around 1.0 oms. I use it on a GG clone, and on a fresh battery I need to either draw fast on it, or pulse the button 4 or 5 times during the draw to keep it from burning till the power drops down a little. Also when I use an AW IMR18490 battery, I only get almost an hour of vaping before the battery gets to low. Are these your experiences also?

I use 30 AWG and find it a lot easier than the 32. Am waiting on some ribbon to test that next.
What I do is burn the juice of my wick and THEN rinse it, and burn it again to get it dry. This way there is no taste drop.

I wrap around 0.8 ohm coils for my DID's

I have no clue about any clone mod. I use the Poldiac and hmm I actually don't know for sure how long my batteries last, when empty I replace... My Pila charger is always working for me ;-) I do know is that the only time I get a burn taste is when my tank is empty! Never even get a burn taste with a fresh battery on the Poldiac and that one hits HARD!

I just pull the wick and give a light brushing with tooth brush under warm water, roll dry on paper towel. Dry burn coil and blow any ash off, re-insert wick and vape any moisture will soon dissipate. Its nice to taste the real flavor start to come to full bloom.

I have 3 DID's i vape with daily and only have ever used 32g Kanthal. When stainless 500mesh is new to build i roll real tight over needle as being an ex 2 pad to hand roll them it comes easy.
I rinse under water gently massaging anything on the wick, fill mouth with water and blow water thru the hollow wick.
I insert wick and coil it right on the DID.
Used to oxidize the whole mesh wick on stove now i just do the ends insert into DID and then wrap the kanthal 3 times for a 1.6 -1.9 ohm coil.
Not bragging but its rare i get a hotspot as i been doing it for a good while now.

Little tip as i read many on ECF get hotspots with Genesis at the top wire going to positive post and most times its from pulling the kanthal to the post and breaking the oxidation layer. ; )

When kanthal gunks up i take wick out toss the kanthal (its cheap) 250ft roll free shipping at 18.53.

I got my did a week ago and for the most part have it running pretty good. My problem is that I can get all the coils to glow and it vapes great.. then the performance diminishes.. I check the resistance and it has gone up, then it goes down, then goes up again ect.. why would the resistance fluctuate? It'll be vaping great for a couple days then, not. I syringe out the juice, and burn the coils and have hotspots. I worked any hotspots out to begin with. why would I keep needing to adjust it so often? Is this just the nature of gennys? I have a zap and it never needs adjusting, the resistance never fluctuates. I've been using 30g 3 wraps.. I just recoiled it with 28g 3 wraps. Right now it's reading 1.8ohms. Using a provari.

I absolutely love this thing and maybe I just need more practice with it. Any advice for my particular situation would be appreciated. The wick I have in it is fat. I didn't oxidize the hell out of it but I did burn it some. I only burned the top part of the wick where the coil wraps around it.. I left the bottom that goes into the tank alone. Maybe my wick is the culprit.
Thanks

Have you checked that the positive screw holding wire is tight? as a loose wire will cause that problem. Its common for the screw to come loose.
I should of added that you can rule out a short, because the Provari would give you E1.

I can RUN faster! hahaah

Great to hear that Jim, it must have been very frustrating for you trying to make all these lovely goodies you supply when being sick.
So now you are fit and running the stock will fill the shelves again....take care:)

Thanks! I believe this just might be my problem. I just checked it and was able to tighten the screw down a bit. Last night my resistance was 1.8.. this morning it was 1.9, I took off the cap and tightened the screw and it went down to 1.7. I'll keep check on it and see what happens. It's difficult for me to get the top screw tight enough, when I tighten it, it wants to pull the connection in towards the center post and I'm afraid it will put too much tension on the top coil.

The standard size did will be back in stock sometime in the future won't it? The way it's worded on the site makes it look a little like it's no longer being made. Maybe it could read "not in stock right now" or something like that rather than "this product is no longer in stock" LOL

I bought my did used and it has a 1.5mm air hole. I guess it's 1.5, a 1/16 drill bit fits down into perfectly. I'd like to get a new topcap (with a 1.2mm air hole) and base but $25 for shipping is a bit steep. I know that's a fair price to ship from Greece, that's why I asked if there was a dedicated vendor in the US.

CloudWizard had a similar problem until he discovered that his center post was loosening while tightening his atty to his mod. Check to make sure the centerpost is snug tight before, and after attaching to mod.
Burnies negative screw tip too is a culprit, as you've just discovered. WTG Burnie!

Not yet but soon will be!
