ok not DID related but thought i'd share anyway...

I am an absent minded dork!

I was sitting in the garden today playing with the dog....
Throwing sticks for Baya (my brown labrador)
Then she at one point brought me back my PROVARI!

(not a scratch on it, just some dog drewl)

...I really can't laugh that hard at my age without fair warning !!!

having the same thing. But don't give up :p
ok so I looked through all the posts and continued to try with my DiD. I have oxidized the 400 ss mesh like 8x with water and 8x with pg. I wrapped the coils making sure they weren't touching and they were nice and tight, however it is saying E1 on my provari and I'm kinda getting annoyed. What else could be wrong. I've watched like 10 vids on it...I didn't expect it to be this difficult...

riot, try setting it up on a mechanical device or a Buzz. There not as finicky as a ProVari. Use a multi meter to get your coil to 2.0 - 2.5, (4/5 wrap). Douse it and burn it a few times with VG/PG or any e liquid to carbon it up a little, then put it on the ProVari. It should be fine. Hope this helps.

Another thing to check for is something that drove me nuts during the first few days of DID training. Shorts and hot spots galore despite my solid belief I was doing everything right. Turns out that due to my particularly bad eyesight I missed a few loose strands hanging off the wick that were causing shorts. So make sure you inspect your wick carefully before inserting it into the hole ( ) and pull out or cut off all those nasty strands.

I found that holding the wick against a mostly white computer screen background provides great visibility for this potential trouble spot.

Coming from someone that doesn't have any working knowledge with The DID, I read this exact point of concern many times throughout the thread. Those stray mesh hairs are (I guess) seemingly insignificant and otherwise hard to detect, but absolutely necessary to deal with nonetheless.

And let's not forget, for some, nearly invisible

Is it also as hard to feel? I mean, can you run your fingers along the edge and detect, or is it some other kind of way to notice?

Next to impossible to feel. A 400 mesh strand is so fine it is almost imagined. The edge folding method does minimize the problem but strands can still stick out the top and bottom, which in fact was my problem.

If you fold the edge the hair issue is over. Then when you do the burn the hairs on the bottom glow red. Makes it real easy to see on the top and bottom. I should also add the the stray hairs at the top and bottom almost always get burnt off when heating as well.
