Well fuzzi, you did come up with the name :)

Yes, but...but...my tastes being what they are, this thing would be impossible for me not to want to own.
Aside from the fabulous vape it's likely to generate it will look splendid alongside my spacecraft model collection :)

By any chance does anyone know what drip tip is on the Gemini in the above pics? It suits the device perfectly in my eyes.

ex: how do you do that without messing with the surface? do you cover it with tape?

Air Hole modding is the first section.. Post #2061 is probably the most detailed.

Take a 1/16th bit and drill that baby out. You have a pilot hole already so just line it up hold firmly and pull the trigger. Then when your done make sure you have no metal blocking the hole. Rinse and vape away. Its really very easy. I used a brand new bit and it cut like butter and left no metal behind. It was nice and smooth. This job literally takes 5 seconds.

I hear you on the mods.....current inventory......
3 provaries ( just got a new pink one)
I Altoids vv dual 18650 Box mod (love it) - this is the one I test my coils on before finishing up testing ohms etc on the provari.
V1 Katana
1 wizards apprentice - ordered the satin mini DID to match this one.
V2.1 orion and another on the way ....I love these in 18350 mode.
Several ego's although I am giving these away to encourage my friends to quit
And getting a custom lime green with breast cancer ribbon VV Dual 18650 box mod made to match my cute lime green ford fiesta (I am a breast cancer survivor)

Oh an I have an atom and DC somewhere.
Probably have a couple of janty noes somewhere here.
So unless Jim makes a hybrid I HAVE to stay away from the classifides
HaHaHa gotta love DIDaholics!!! I'm right there with you as far as supplies hon- I will never need more mesh or wire and I do all DIY except for one that I purchase as a special treat to myself :) that's why I got the spare parts for my DIDs because I don't use anything else now- they are the best RBA available IMHO and I don't want or need any others. Now Mods..... that's another story LOL!!!

High rollers up in here. I only have the Provari with a DID on it, and an Orion 2.1. I have 2 more attys on the list, one carto tank, and one more PV. Thats all I can justify getting. I dont have 10 mouths and not going to vape with my ears and my a**. I don't change anything out in the DID or clean it when I change juice, and I am fine with that. But hey, if you got it like that then more power to you. No, I'm not bitter!!! I was so thrifty before ecigs. Now at this moment my pay off is like 4 years out. Its just not in me to keep up just cause.

Perhaps some kind gentleman will offer his drilling services. I have 2 top caps being replaced with standard hole. So I have 2 caps with the 1mm hole that I want drilled out. Might have to break down and buy a cheap drill.
I don't even have a drill so I am trying to keep the thought of a larger airhole out of my mind :)

Man, I have been having such a rough time with my DID since I got the provari on Saturday. I keep starting out with stable ohms on my coils, no shorts, etc.. After about a day the resistance starts fluctuating and I get OP... After a day it won't fire unless i push the wick away from the center post even though its not touching....
Only thing I can figure is that wrapping directly on the center pole is not working anymore... I lost a nut so have been doing this for a few weeks and usually not any problems... Just wrapped a new coil and already not firing unless I jiggle the did around... Has it been said that wrapping directly to the brass center pole has caused people issues?
Luckily all the SS parts have been put up... Im going to buy those and another DID while I am at it. Might as well get the free shipping and I know Ill order another did anyway within a few months... Any words of advice in the meantime would really help. I've been messing with it for about 3 hours every day since Saturday... I was getting so frustrated that I messed up four coils after work today. The kinks kept causing issues in the kanthal (I do burn them quickly first) and I kept getting a hot spot at the top that would burn a hole or tear in the wick... I may end up using some cartos until I get the new parts. I have even cleaned the brass center pole numerous times in vodka, with a toothbrush, etc... Maybe the threads just are not stable for wrapping on...

Thanks for listening to me rant.. Any ideas I'd appreciate it. I hope the new parts rectify this as I'm about to drop close to another 150 on something I love but can be so finicky for me...
You've already received many helpful tips that should help you with your problems, and there's not much left to say, except maybe the top coil is too tightly wrapped? or too tightly pulled towards the post to tie? Rather than pull the wire over to the post, make a "hook" like symbol with the top coil and then head over to the post gently. Might help. Good luck and I hope tomorrow's try has you smiling big time.

Huge milestone for me today. I found myself out on a family outing with my portable setup, a Volt X2 and Phoenix bottom coil, which combination to date has performed quite well for me when I'm out and about. At 12 pm the device failed and despite my best efforts I could not get it going again. My options were quite limited. Either stick it out or buy a pack of the stinkies. Let me tell you this was a very tough day for me but having gone 4 months without a cigarette I somehow stuck it out (I ate a lot ..lol) and managed to make it home without vaping or smoking...for a whole 8 hours, which for me was previously unimaginable.

Needless to say I practically broke the door down when I got home and stormed for my, you guessed it, DID! It was like crawling through an endless desert and finding my oasis again. I've been DIDDING non-stop for the past 2 hours and don't intend to stop any time soon.

Lesson learned. Always bring back up with you, wherever you go and whatever you do. That mini sure is going to be handy it seems. ;)
What a frightful day! I'm so proud of you for holding out as you did. I never could have made it, you have my total admiration.
When I went to the fair for the day, I had my egoTwist, Reo Grand, Volts and Lavatube w/DiD. lol. Oh, and all their backups inside my purse in eyeglass cases. Thank goodness I didn't lose my purse!

I was really wanting the SS parts for my Short DID setup, but at $50 I'm second guessing myself ha! May just use the money for another full DID setup. Perhaps at some point Jim will offer the SS parts in a package with the DID instead of the brass parts. Though I must say, it's nice that Jim is listening to his customers, that is certainly appreciated!

Closest thing to that dt that I know of is the Puresmoker SS Zip Tip. I have one and use it on a A-2.

Just measured it - 3/4" from top to bottom

How many of you have increased air hole to 1/16?

Good idea in theory and I initially loved my Siam flow control tip but found it collects a lot of condensation from the DID. Always a drop sitting on top of the flow control sleeve. On the other hand my SuperT Tanbur tip works exceptionally on the DID. You just have to be careful not to take out an eye :)

Just got a new ming style SS King Kong DT...very inexpensive and it also works quite well on the DID. Both these tips have a wide bore and I agree this suits the DID very nicely.

Thanks for the reply. To be honest I do not have a flow control tip yet. They are always out of stock when I look. The king kong mings are indeed quite nice. I got six of them in a co op and was pleasantly surprised.
