haha, reading the air whole I realized I totally messed up...

got 2 mini DID, 1 satin 1 polished. So during the assembly, I didn't check which top cap and the top base match... darn... I mixed them up!

I thought it was vaping very good, now I put the other cap on, it's awesome!

ok, I am gonna go with mismatched till I have some time to take them apart... duh!

Are you making a fat wick. Using a 2/3 coil. Also chack the air hole alignment. Mark with your finger where the wick is and turn the top cap until it is aligned. Also I háve read so hole have so burs on them make sure the hole is unobstructed up a few posts I posted a link to a video. Does it run like mine with out the top cap.. Make sure there is no crud build up also use some tp to clean the coil. Don't go crazy just get the big gunk off. Hope this helps

Tony

Hi Tony,

Yes on the wick...wick was fairly tight into wick hole on initial insertion, and is still a tight fit but not squashed
.
Wick and airhole alignment is fine, I'm running with one of Jim's-Kir Fanis clear tanks.

Air-Hole is fine and clear, I checked that on first build.

Re-Video you mentioned, I had a quick look back up the posts to try and find this...I'm unsure if your referring to the link you posted in your post 5604, if so I can't get it up...it comes back saying 404 if I remember correctly

Wick & Coil. Fairly clean as you can see, I have renewed the coil every couple of days in an attempt at getting this thing rocking...lol...I am getting fairly decent vapour, but as I said not quite as much as the carto's I was using.

Actually the provari v2 will fire just fin with a 1.0 ohm coil up to about 3.7 volts. The V1 will give an error. I do find that very low resistance coils blow through batteries like crazy though.
On ProVari, start with the lowest voltage. Best way is to start with a mechanical device to break in. Measure your ohms with a multi meter. A ProVari will not fire it if the ohms are oh, I dunno, 1.0 - 1.3. It needs to see 1.5 - 1.6 ohms to work, and that is at a very low voltage.

edit; spelling

Made my first coils with 30awg this weekend. 3/4 wraps 1.2 ohm at 3.8v. Real fogmachine now, flavour and vapor is great, still using my 200 mesh. Have some 400 on the way to try that again.

I have the exact same setup but with one extra coil. My 5/4 gives me 1.5. On my provari I'll usually sit at 4.0v, sometimes higher depending on the flavor. On the kicked paps, I'm at about 8.5w

I seem to be able to take alot shorter drags for more vapor and taste compared to my 34 awg settup. When i keep chainvaping this settup i dry my wick out, didnt have that with my 34 awg, maybe that has something to do with 200mesh? Using 70/30 liquid at the moment.
I think i like this more then my old settup, just need find a way to keep the feeding on par.

Fun? That was an idea I tried to get through my struggles. Two weeks of struggling when I first got mine had me trying anything short of aluminum foil.....oxidized of course. :)
I'll try it again some day. I can't promise when. I'll need a little time to try it again. Someone here is very successful at it but for the life of me I can't remember who.
Was it Overall? CloudWizard? Come out come out whoever you were. :) I remember too, just not accurately. (my brain is still in hyper mode from Hubby's good news which is competing with my chronic CRS).

Thats hilarious yankee, reminds me of myself last yr with my first genisis. I near threw it out the door.

Dspin I won't lie one bit. In fact, it would help newbies know not to give up. But the first couple of weeks with the DIDs in my hand filled my home with more foul language than George Carlin's skits. My poor wife just peeked out of the corner of her eyes at me while I saddled different coils and such. I damn near tested it's durability a few times against the floor.

(The line was easier. MUCH easier. First shot. Course it PALED in performance!)

BUT....I kept pressing and she kept saying "ok. Enough for tonight. Tomorrows another day". And she was right. Several tomorrow's later, my "A ha" moment arrived. And today I'm rewinding and recoiling in under 5 minutes and nailing 95% of them. (Course this does not count oxidation time but even that has dwindled).

Results? One happy sonofa..... with the DID. :D :vapor:

This is due in part to you, uma, and so many I can't even name. This thread helped a TON!

Thank you so much!
It feel funny to be awarded with something so beautiful as this special engraving just because I love the DID and company so much I've become a non-stop chatterbox. Love it!!
I know, right. I'm never parting with mine either.
Just fyi everyone... pretty soon I'll be back to winter hours, and I won't be online as often (solar energy) .... this means you all will have a chance to get a word in edgewise!! Your turn is coming... :)
