So let us keep this thread as a very helpfull one for the Genesis people!

I can not search back but I have an answer for someone.
The threads of the positive pole are type M2

You might have to ask Jim. Do you need a replacement or something? He has replacements on his site.

No, I wanted to try and setup the positive coil connection a bit differently. The little brass nuts seem to come loose pretty easily, and I wanted to test out a few ideas.

Hopefully Jim can chime in when he as a few minutes. No rush of course...

On another note, my Short DID has been really working well for me the last few days. I have a double wick setup (skinny unoxidized wick inside of a fat oxidized wick, both 325) with a 3/2 wrap. It wicks really well even with the fill screw in, and I haven't gotten any flooding or dry hits at all. Awesome vapor, awesome flavor!!

AJ I love the double wick as well. IMO it makes a big difference. Also, I bought the SS parts from Jim's site and switched out the brass. The center post, with the new SS spacer is much easier to work with than all those little brass screws. I do prefer the original SS screw for the negative connection to the newer tall knurled screw though.

Nice wick, AJ! I haven't yet tried the dbl wick, like you, Pete and a few others have. I roll my wicks too tight to fit another inside it. (using a paperclip) yet, I get awesome wicking. Might be something with the extra mesh material wicking it up or something?
Pete, it took me awhile to get used to the new filler screw with the Mini Did, but I love it now. Isn't this great being able to switch nuts and bolts around to form our own perfect worlds? Jim's got us covered every which way, even ways we haven't even thought of yet I'm sure.

No issues but down on the power IMO. 14 watt limit on the ProV. I bought a $40 Cyclone that has more power and sold the ProV for $200. The Cyclone does the same stuff the ProV does and is more easy to use. No more passing the settings up in frustration. Just push the power button once and it shows ohm's, battery life, and voltage setting all at once. Wana turn it up? Push the + button and its done.

no problems at all with the provari, vapes like a dragon. Just gotta watch out not to get the resistance above i think 3.2ohms. The VMAX outperforms the provari on high resistance coils, but not by much... Good luck!

edit: in fact 3.2ohms @6.0V on the provari works great!

Finally figured out Multi-quotes

Ya know, not sure but kanthal 30, may be a bit more stable than kanthal 32...

I've been using 30 for everything. Recently saw a Youtube talking about 28awg. I've had the same experience with 30awg seeming to have way less problems/settles in much quicker.

I haven't had much luck with the thicker 30 tho... seem harder to coil around. I should start using it more.

I find it harder to coil on the wick. It's thicker and I mangled a couple good wicks
I now coil before installing and 30 really holds it's shape nicely. I use a tool about the size of the wick hole and can get really even, tight coils that way.

My stainless steel parts came in today.......I didn't have the heart to break down one of my DIDs.

I had the same problem, but not the patience. I tore one down, cleaned it and rebuilt with all SS. I love the new SS hardware!!! The centerpost setup and the "no tools" thing were just too much for me to wait.

Don't get down on that master piece of ingenuity. I've been watching the pics as you've battle dressed that thing along and (at least to me) it feels like a testimony to resilience.

Like some of you, I bought some 500x500. Haven't had a chance to roll a new wick with it yet (maybe tomorrow), but has anyone got some results of using it to feed back? I'm planning to start with a 40mm x 50mm fat wick coiled with 30awg 4/5 to see how it goes.

the cigarette paper trick, only i do it wet. just take out your wick, roll a cigarette paper around it (don't worry about to much paper, that's ok/exactly what u're after) and DON'T do any dry burns. Just rewind the coil, put it back and make sure it has liquid all over it and you'll get 3.2 ohms with around 6-7 wraps. Also make sure the coil is tight, if it's loose you'll get metal flavor as it's not touching any liquid... What I also do do is make a fat wick with SS AND a glassfibre wick pulled through it, pretty sure it doesn't help with the ohms but I believe it draws more juice...

edit: that's using kanthal 32, gotta get me some 30 to make it even better

Add coil wraps. Not sure what supplies you're using (sorry if you posted that info earlier), but I'm getting very stable 1.5ohm to 1.7ohm out of wicks rolled to wick hole width (40mm tall x 50mm wide 400 x 400 mesh) with Kanthal 30awg wrapped 4/5. I usually target this range because it runs nice and warm, is easily handled by my Provari and still works really well on 3.7v fixed batts.
Disclaimer: I like 8-9.5 watts, so I'm not going for the 15 or 20 watts some folks use.

It would help to know what gauge wire and how many wraps around the wick(mesh) you are wraping with.
