Finely got my DID yesterday, I couldn't do any wick making because of company. I can't see any difference in the ss mesh, I am middle aged you know, but with my reading glasses and a magnifying glass, I still can't see any difference. HUH!

If anyone knows a sure fire way to know, I hope they post it cause I am not able to tell them apart. The best method anyone came up with was to hold it up towards something backlit (like a computer screen) and look through it. The one that you can see better through is the 325 because the holes are bigger (at least thats the theory...).

I feel ya. But it really doesn't make that much difference. Burn it good with juice.
Good luck. Get ready for the wow factor.

Very true, though the wire is still the heat delivery system, and while a gunked up wick will still get juice to the coil, a gunked up coil won't deliver enough heat to that juice. Since i've been away, i've been doing just as you suggested, burning my wicks with a lighter and then dry burning my coil with no wick in it, and i've had pretty good results so far, though not quite as good as if I'd torched the wick and just recoiled it.

I feel sorry for you not having a torch with you during the trip to take care of your multiple Genesis Styled Atomizers; especially the DID. I guess if you are backpacking, you don't have a check-in luggage to toss in your BernzOmatic. Enjoy your trip. If you could, you should stop by Spain, have some Tapas (ham of course), and check out Gaudi's work.

In fact, in order to do it continuously, smoothly, quickly and be certain, I have to remove the wick to syringe in my 70% VG e-juice into the Mini DID from the fill hole and watch it get filled up from the wick hole. I always do the "might-as-well" things afterwards; measure the resistance of the coil, burn the coil like the pictures (nothing wet or dry about it, because there is no wick involved), torch the wick, re-insert the wick, measure the resistance again, watch if there is any red spot (not only short will create red spot, but even with the correct total resistance, if the portion of the coil is too far away from the wick, it will show red as well, being not cooling off by the e-juice), then put back the top cap. Now I am also using the same procedure for the original Mighty DID. Boy, what a DID experience for each tank. Yes yes, including occasional nicotine dizziness and dry tank burn taste came too quickly.

That's it. I held it in front of the white background of this web-page, and two of them looked slightly darker than the other two.

Thankx

There is a thin metal rod spacer for 18350 that screws into the top near the flashy Leds then into the big black nut spacer used for 18490. I got mine from provape when i bought my Pila. Ive heard pennies can work in a pinch. I'm away from my charger but can pm you a pic of what it looks like later.

Edit
Ah didnt scroll before postin. My spacer is just like one on right in pic a few posts up. Have had no problem with batt fitting or staying down

Screw should be screwed into the first spacer.
Thanks!
It takes 2 of the black spacer thingies, one of which is screwed into the dillybob by the LED lights. check. The other black spacer thingie is still needed, but which way do I point the sharp screw end? Towards the screwed in spacer or towards the battery?

I'm either not understanding the answers, or I'm not clarifying my questions? I so confuse myself. Sorry!
(I charged them in the TF for now but would rather use the pila if possible and if the two spacers will work in one compartment for one battery, I can still charge a different sized battery in the other side right?).

hello, quick question about did genesis. i wrap a 4/5-5/6 coil but i am reading 1.0 on my provari. i am using a gauge 30 kanthal and a ss 325 mesh. i wanted to get atleast 1.6 ohms but reading is very low and my battery drops dramatically. please advise. thanks.

Is your wick very thin? I suggest you roll a fat wick to accommodate the DIDs 3.5 mm opening. If you do your 4/5-5/6 wrap will ohm out higher, my guess 1.8-2.3, somewhere in that range. At least mine does with kanthal 30.

Chances are you're shorting some where (shorts don't always cause hotspots). Make sure wick is:
  1. Oxidized really well (including area that touches inside wick hole)
  2. Not touching bottom of tank
  3. Not touching cap (should be trimmed to top of center post or a 0.5mm less)
  4. Not touching center post (but close to it)
  5. Coils aren't touching (each other or center post)

Generally philosophy is to isolate the SS wick from everything else including the DID because it uses the stainless steel parts as a conduit for the negative pole. You may want to try simply turning the wick 1/4 turn and vaping again (can resettle the wick on a better oxidized area especially if you've vaped it a bit).

Good luck!

Hey Uma, are those the technical terms? :p

The Pila charger should have independent channels so you can charge in either or both sides as convenient. By the way, that Roller is just too cool!!! That is one to be proud of, your pics look great!

5/6 coil should be just about right on a thick wick. the 30 takes a little while to stabilize. Keep fiddling with the coils and dripping on them and it should pop up to 1.5 or more if you have no other wick problems. For me it seems to take some time to get the bottom coils going.
I'm using a huge (110mm) 325 wick with 30 right now, and like the 500 I can't really get it to dry-hit. For me, at least, giant wicks are the way to go.

Of course those are high technicalized terms. I got my certificate from K-smart. :D
Good to hear, I can charge 2 sized batteries. Saves time!
Thanks!!! Isn't it grand!! I absolutely love it! and the pics are viewable!! :faint: am I on candid camera? lol.

This is my setup. Left 18490 right 18350. Only one black spacer per channel. No black spacer would be for 18650. The male threaded screws should point toward the flashy Leds and screw into the holes. The batts pos end also points toward leds. You get 2 black spacers so you can use 1in each channel. Im pretty sure it is not designed to use 2 of the black spacers stacked in 1 channel as the screw end would make a poor connection to the flat side of the other spacer and be wobbly.

As far as I know the Pila charger cannot charge 18350 batts as it comes (no adapters or combo for that are included) Gonna need to get one of the adapters mentioned in other posts if you don't have one, or try Pennies in the mean time, but I'd watch it carefully doing that. I never tried the coins as a quick fix. I just managed with 18490 for a few days untill I got adapters

Hope this helps.

Can you not screw the two spacers together so they can be used in one channel? On my Xtar the spacers screw together. You can use as many as you want/need.

No. One end of the black spacer has the threaded male screw, and the other end is flat metal. No hole to screw into. Would be nice if it did as that would probably fit perfectly for an 18350.

Very much so, thanks!!!! I'll get the spacers for sure then, heck, maybe even an XStar, as the poster below, Kawboy, says theirs twist together, which would be nice. Never hurts to have more than 2 chargers anyways. :) I'll pick up the spacers for sure first though.
haha, thanks for bearing with me everyone, and trying to get through my thick skull. Loves ya all!!
