I tried some fat wicks with mega coils but went back to 30awg with 4 wraps. It comes out 1.2 ish ohms and vaped great on mechanical mod. If you chain vape you can get the mega coils up to par. I like mine to respond when I hit the button. You also need to do lung inhales to see the massive vapor that the gurus get (I learned that yesterday when I tried the lung inhale). I am a puffer I use my DID like I used to smoke.
Good posts lately, thanks every one. So I decided to try a 4cm*10cm solid fat #325 SS wick and some 28 gauge nichrome wire from my first rebuildable spree a few months back. It makes 1.5 ohms though it takes some time to heat up enough to vape plums the way I like. I'm hoping my P+ 18650 will have the umph to make this setup fog!

The sabertouch just produces wisps, while my DNA12 has to be turned to 11 Watts to be enjoyable. Any suggestions?

For backup I still have my first #400 wick Jim style with the kanthal that came with my standard, in case this bombs. I would like to try this in #500 just waiting on the opportunity and enough mesh :)

Photo of it installed?

It's just a tiny (smaller than a postage stamp) doodad that sits on the end of the battery. It is magnatized a little, to help self secure. There's a tiny nipple in the middle on one side of it and I usually turn that towards the battery door instead of towards the battery, but it doesn't matter which side goes on the battery because it has no polarity. I took a pic but it's blurry and it's still in "sending" mode on my phone. I'll update when it comes.

Certainly not intentionally passing this over. I just ant speak on saber. A first I was going to suggest more coils until the mech mod comes in. But after seeing the pics, I think there's no vacancy in the inn. :)
I generally vape them all on mech mods. Sometimes with a kick. Sometimes without. Is that wick TOO wet. Bubbling a lot?

No bubbles, just a lot of metal mass :) it really is enjoyable after a few puffs. Gets hot at the top cap after several +15 sec inhales. Very much like a pipe session. I've vaped only strait VG 0 nic on it for the last few hours. I'll try my all day Vape tomorrow through it.

Oh for pete's sakes! I can't believe I said captain Dan instead of Lieutenant Dan! (Gary Sinese character in Forest Gump, plus his band as well). I'm going senile or to bed, one or the other. nite all.

Been there. Such a super-fat wick needs about 17-18 Watts to work nicely. It's extremely inefficient setup.

Did you find the flavor suffered when you went back to a 4wrap coil after the "monster coils"?
I've been running a 1.1Ohnm coil on my paps 7wrap 28awg nichrome, 150mm #500 mesh and it is a "little slow to get boogieing, but the flavor is great, although vapor is not as much as expected.
On my clear window DID I have a 6wrap 30awg Kanthal wrap on 105mm #500 mesh to run on my Zmax and on the paps with a kick, however the flavor is not quite as intense and the vapor is good but not stellar.
I've been thinking about a 4 or five wrap 30 awg kanthal wrap for a faster response, but was afraid I'm going to sacrifice the great flavor .

Flavor is great with a 4 wrap of the 30awg. The heating is instant so vapor production is excellent. The 1.2 ohm range seems to be optimal for flavor and vapor on a mechanical 3.7 mod.

And I'll definitely second that ohm range. Spot on for mech mods with no kick needed.

All a question of taste, I'm more of a 5 wrap with a 1.8 ohm. On a mech mod.

Last night I have ordered DID D20 for myself and Mini DID for my friend. Now we can't wait to see status of order change to Shipped. :)

I must add that DID is the first rebuildable atty mod that I ever bought. I only used eGo-C, cartos, C4 and Kanger T2 CC clearomisers... for a while I am looking at mods and searching for the one... and among tons of others, I have decided that DID is the one... and I/m affraid not the last.

Nice, I may pull a wrap off the top, to bring it down. My multi meter says 1.5 though I checked on a friends mod today and it reported 1.3 ohm.
