Off topic, but thought I'd share.

Just got back from my respiratory therapist (diagnosed with COPD 5 years ago after smoking 2PAD for 33 years). This was my first visit since before I started vaping 293 days ago and she was thrilled. And the test results: blood/oxygen saturation up to lower range of normal (for my age), small airway capacity up 10% and large airway capacity up 5%! No prescription renewal for Advair or rescue inhaler, I didn't even need to schedule any more visits.

She was really curious about vaping so I did take the opportunity to show her how a "real" ecig works (Mini-DID on a VV KGO 650mAh) and gave her the link to ECF.

So, whether or not the vaping "health" debate ever publicly gets settled, I'm 100% certain it's saved my life (or at least extended it considerably;))

The proof indeed is in the puddin'. CONGRATS!
I know I've seen a few doctors this year (small scare) and each and every one was doing backflips hearing I'm vaping and not smoking. The one that wasn't as educated in vaping (my GP) still said "don't know much about it, but if its nic and no carcinogens then its what counts". I love open minded doctors.

CloudWIzard, that is awesome news indeed. Big congrats on staying quit, and sticking with it. My Mom has COPD (among other things), and I've gotten her and my step Dad both vaping part time. They're both curious and have been asking questions about RBA's like the DID, and hybrids now that they've tried them, I just worry they wouldn't be able to pull off making a wick and coil due to other health related issues.

That is so awesome, CloudWizard. what fantastic news. Congrats!!!!!
This, indeed is a great testimony. Have you, or are you going to, shared it in the Health forum here at ECF? This story needs exposure!

First, Cloud, congratulations on your health improvement. I too, after smoking for 44 years, found it harder and harder to accomplish everyday tasks, walking the dog, carrying the laundry downstairs, walking distance, etc, without becoming breathless and tired. I also succumbed to every cold, cough, and upper respiratory illness which came along. 2 years ago, I switched to vaping. Today I am happy to say I feel like a new man. I am no longer breathless or tired after taking the dog on a romp through the woods, and everyday tasks are a breeze. I wish I could pass this gift to every person still on tobacco. I do preach the word of vape when I can, and of course tout the beauty of DID, whenever possible. To all who lost in the storm, I pray you see a speedy and quick recovery, god speed.

Cloud Wizard that is absolutely Great News. I went through a similar scenario with my Doctor as well. My Pulse Oxigen levels were around 89 to 91 % so I was borderline COPD. Eight Months later when I went back and got it checked I was back to 99% as well and my Doctor is totally thrilled with my progress to the point she had me bring in business cards for my Simi Local Brick and Mortar so she could send her patients his way who smoke so they could get off of them :D

Congrats on the progress my Friend :D

Now, my Mini DID Question. Is it ALWAYS this much of a Pain in the $#@#$!! To get a wick just right?? My First one was awesome but I have been through about 5 more since that one went south and three days worth of fiddling. I just got it to work again a few minutes ago with all coils, (32 AWG 3/2 Wrap around 325 Mesh oxidized jack frost and after roll with wire installed as well), firing evenly. Now to just break it in to taste right if I am correct? Since the oxidation process leaves a bit of a taste behind I am assuming that it will go away after some vaping right?

Sincerely;

Just wondering how your wick "went south" since I have been using the same wick for like the last 5 months or so.

I did however try to make a really FAT wick today with a needle size hole in the middle (12cm by 4cm) but could not get it to stop shorting on me. In the end I pulled it out, put my old wick back in coiled it and did not even need to nudge any coils it was perfect right away.
btw for me oxidation does not leave any bad taste, carbonization however is a different story. When you rub your wick between your fingers after oxidizing, does it rub off black on your fingers? If so then it is not oxidized but carbonized.

It went south because I totally unraveled it when I took off the coil I had that popped :( Yeah I totally blackened this one, but after wards I kind rolled it in my fingers and cleaned it off a bit until the carbon came off. I think one of my problems was that I was wrapping it too tight around the wick or the wick was just not thick enough. Not sure really, but I rolled a 325 wick fairly fat and now it is working really good with the 3/2 32 awg kanthal wrap. The flavor to begin with was a bit muted and just off, but now it is coming through really really good and getting better by the minute. I guess it just took a little bit to get it broken in right.

I also wrapped the coil differently this time using the Scott way where you secure it down to the negative post and then turn the whole device to wrap the coil instead of wrapping it around the wick first and installing. I guess I will just have to do it that way from now on because it works great now. :D

Thank you so much Miriam :D

This is a weird enterprise, my friend. There is lots of talk about not oxidizing at all on other threads, with success. The taste always disappears eventually, it seems, from what I've read.

Yeah I have been doing a lot of reading and watching of videos on it and some folks are having great success without oxidizing the wicks, but I have to say I prefer torching just to be sure it is free of any impurities that may be on it. So mine will always have some form of oxidization on them even if it is just a little bit because I like em sanitary when I start using them :D

Oh I have had my share, and still sometimes do, of what I call wick testing. So much so that I sometimes lose track of which was the good wick. :)

LOL You Ain't Kidding There Brother!!! It took me a few times to figure out which one was the good one LOL. Now I have it in and it is working like clockwork again :D

My mini is my least used DID. It is challenging for me to get it running right. I have pluid in it. Pluid is so strong a flavor that it comes through well even if the coil isn't playing nice. I have found that I have to unscrew the fill nut to get good wicking on the mini. I am. Considering ordering the Gemini and making it an upside down Gemini, the mini parts at the bottom and the regular DID at the top. Some folks are having great success with the mini. Compared to my other DIDs the mini definitely takes a back seat.

I can relate to that for sure. This thing is definitely not an easy Genesis to set up, but I can say this. It certainly performs very very well when it is set up right :D

LOL Not to mention, my Gemini is not yet here so it is kinda the only DID in my Collection at the Moment :D

I really like the idea of inverting the Gemini, I may have to look into that because I can think of a few very very nice mods that I think would look AWESOME with an inverted Gemini :D

Anyone tried the mini DID on a P+ 16340? Do you think it would look nice on that?
The Mini DID fits damn near perfect on the slant top P+16340! My only issue with the setup it is that even the AW IMR 16340s can't supply nearly enough current to the coil as I'd like them to :(
