I am right here Uma, reading all the posts with my morning coffee while vaping my beautiful DID! Going through a bit of a rough time at home but otherwise doing fine! ;-)
May have been drunk, but have not missed reading a single post!

Good to know that you're fine Miriam.

Somewhere in PA on my Ultra Limited
Houston we have liftoff...

...and I tried that "throttle" method, must take someone smarter than me. 2x 30awg and 1x 28awg coil pops later I pulled the wick, Jack Frost, re-rolled/coiled 4/5 30awg (@~1.3ohm) and "voila"! I really like the Mini flavor with the Shortie capacity.

And now onto a completely different train of though all together!

I just stumbled upon this on one of the Ecig related facebook groups, Of Wick & Wire, and I wanted to know if anyone has tried this yet? It's a neat idea, but I'm too skeptical to believe it works without testing it for myself.

Anyone try this yet ?

eMonty, that's a beautiful setup!!

Good to see you Miriam!! I miss ya when you don't check in now and then y'know.

CW! Thanks for reporting in on the pulsed oxidization method. I'm sure I'd have equal results, if not worse. But will keep it in mind for emergencies perhaps.

The storm's not too bad so far... it's waiting until I go out and feed the livestock again lol.

Way to go Ira!!! Congrats on your new coil. Ain't it saweeeeet!

So like, I need a new VV, my old magenta LT will surely break before too long as it's my one and only. So, I almost cooped a zmax2 but luckily my router needed replacing and took all my funds. So, I decided on a Vamo, with it's user friendly menu and the even cheaper price. And then... omg... I saw the new and improved Lt V2.... and now I'm going to be spending even more and hubby is so going to desert me I just know it but I can't help it. It's soooo nice! AND it comes in Metallic Pink and possibly a purple coming in....
For my wake, please play Tanya Tucker's "When I die, let me go to Texas"..... I have a feeling I'm going to need some big wide open spaces for when he someday joins me and wants to finish "talking" with me lol.

I've got another interesting idea for oxidizing mesh that I've experimented with and actually had impeccable results doing! Oxidizing full sheets of mesh in a knife kiln! The kilns get upwards of 4500º+, which is wayyyyy more heat than is necessary, but a 5-10 second dunk in the knife kiln is potentially all you need to oxidize a FULL SHEET of mesh! I can't see this as being even remotely practical for your average user, but for industrial/commercial purposes (ie making bulk amounts of pre-oxidized wicks for wholesale/retail), I think I could be onto something here! I wonder what I'd fetch for a lot of 100 perfectly oxidized, pre-rolled, 3-3.5mm wicks on the classies...that might pay the bills for a POLDIAC ;)

Well you have plenty to be cheerful about Miriam! We love your presence here on the DID forum, you've got your hat, your DIDs, and your health! Just keep your side of the street clean and everything around you will fall into place exactly as it should, even if it doesn't feel like it at the time xD
Thanks Uma!

I am just in that "Arrrrrghhhhh! Women! can't live with them, can't kill them" kind of state with my ex here.
So that makes it hard to post anything cheerful or funny or inspired if that makes sense.

I like your way of thinking Rick!!

The true challenge though is to make a coil that does not gunk up so easily, a coil that when in need of a change can be easily replaced instead of dry burning, screwing up the wick and at the end get hotspots and/or redo the whole setup.

A user friendly/consistent output is the key to real success...

Got some new toys in! I was lucky enough to cancel the order for that single $60 pyrex syringe and instead managed to order 3 of almost equal quality for $30 total! I use my syringes multiple times a day, so I figured that it was time to replace my grimy plastic ones with something more substantial.
