In mail today from the classy's is DID20 shown here with its stainless tank (bottom picture).
I pm the seller to make sure it's airhole was a virgin and all else was in perfect shape , also came with Kir Fanis clear tank.
The DID is like new and has the brass insides like the other 2 i use.
Cost was 85.00 shipped.

Waiting now for Jim to eventually come out with new larger capacity DID so i can purchase it along with some nice ss drip tips to match my DID'S.

I was just looking on the MM website, and I noticed that Jim offers a spring for the positive connection. I have seen this on some other attys, but I have never had an atty with a spring on the positive. How does this work on the DID. Is it worth the upgrade?

Just a different way of securing the wire to the positive post. There are other genny's that use a similar system. personally, I don't see any advantage to it. I prefer to have the wire held tightly by the nuts rather than by a washer held in place by pressure of a spring.

Thanks Pete. Ya, I think the AC9 has the spring on the positive as well. I just wondered if it made it a ton easier. Another question, do the brass contact make a difference? The standard DID comes with stainless, correct?

Brass is a better conductor. I metered them both and there was a 0.05ohm difference. for anything 1.0 ohm or above there was virtually no difference. For ultra-LR sub 0.8ohm there was a noticeable difference for some folks.

Awesome info. Thanks Cloud. I'm ashamed to say, that I do not even know what I vape at, besides that it is a 5/4 28 on a 3mm wick. I have a cheap RS meter that is clunky, but it tells me I am about at 1. I need to get a better meter, becuase I want to drop a coil off, but I have been afraid to go too low in ohms.

You know, since I got the Poldiac I don't even check. My wicks are always wick hole wide #500 and I always wrap 2/3 or 3/4 depending on mood (I reuse a wick for months but will recoil 28 or 30 on a whim). I'll get the meters out for learning the ribbon wire (probably check 2/3, 3/4, and 4/5) on both sized wicks. Once I know about what each does, meters go back in the cabinet.

And to answer you previous question about SS vs Brass, all of my original DIDs came with brass and I replaced them all with SS. The hardcore crew can tell the difference between 28 and 30 watts, my tastes never take me over 20 watts so I'll gladly trade convenience of the thumb screws and no brass oxide for the difference in conductivity.

So I had been running a 4 wrap coil of 28 Ga Kanthal on a solid 500 mesh wick for about a couple of months. I just switched to a 6 wrap 26 Ga coil, and what a huge difference.

I too know longer measure the resistance of my coils since I got my Poldiac. I use it almost exclusively. The only times I don't is when the bulge in my pocket might offend some people, and then I switch to the Temon.

Hi all, just passing by shortly to say hi and with some good news for Jim.

First of all, Nice to see a new doggy on the thread, Captain!!
My own doggyfriend is about the only living soul I live with during a 5 month wintertime, so I can surely relate to you as them being your best friend.
Hope you stay arround on the thread!

As for the good news for Jim...
Since I have limited acces now to the internet, it is for now less important to be here on the thread since most people coming here are allready familiar with the quality of MMV and for any problems there is the exelent support of people like Miriam, CloudW, Uma, Tony, Oly, Gazman, Pete,
Hoey, Burnie, all others and ofcourse Jim himself.
Since 'my Poldiac' isn't there yet, I just have to be patient....witch I can be, even for a very long time...:)

But what I can do is survey what is going on with the Poldiac in Europe.
And in this area there is good news!!
With Germany, as being a huge e-cig market, I have been looking into these forums specificly.
Innitially, everybody was very sceptical about the price and expected quality
but there is always one person who needs to take the chanche...
And he is (of course) extremely pleased since he received his Poldiac!!
He offered it to one of Germans very vallued ( and very good) reviewers, Navy Lifeguard, who is looking forward to review it soon!
For Jim, I think this is very good news!!

So, although a little absent for now here on the thread, I' ll try to keep you posted about what's goning on here.
Love you all, take care and t'ill next time

Brigit
