Kanger are good , but not as good as they can be . Example , the rba of the subtank has to be modified if you want amazing flavor and to chain vape high VG juices , the airflow holes on the rba need to be enlarged as well . Sure people can do that themself but why dont they have the RBA with bigger holes out of the box after so many people have told them to do that ?

Answer is , because they want people buying the OCC coils which are notihng more than an overpriced bs , waste of metal because instead of them making it so that you can just buy change the internal parts of the OCC , they sell the hole thing and once its done , most people get rid of it . And idk how those OCC coil heads last some people for a week . I bought a 5 pack , each lasted maximum a day even though I did everything right .

Recently I purchased , actually yesterday I purachased a bunch of cool things , non of which are made by Kanger :

But I have to admit as of right now , Kanger together with Eleaf are the best we have , like I said my subtank mini works amazing now but IT DID NOT right of the box , I will be recieving my Lemo 2 this tuesday FINALLY and then I can make the comparacent . If the Lemo 2 vapes just like my subtank right now without any modifications , then that means Eleaf listens to the community more than Kanger , not to mention that the publisher of iStick , the most famous mod right now is eLeaf .

I finally got to look at this tank. they made the holes bigger much bigger. I think im going to put a drill to my subtank.

I just did that method, exactly like the video and it's still not wicking that well... ***.

You can even see a little gap at the bottom of the wick holes since the cotton isn't touching the deck fully and even instead of flooding I'm getting the opposite

what gauge wire are you using?

I posted that for the old style of RBA. Works great. Of course with the new RBA, you need to use a different method. I've been using the method shown in this video and it's been flawless.

Cheers for the video. I just rewicked mine that way and... Not working well. Lol, I honestly don't understand, I've been using rebuildables since I started vaping and used RTAs with complicated wicking methods, yet, I can't get this to play ball...

Well, it is wicking now, I can see a few bubbles coming up when I take a pull but there's virtually no flavor and it's semi dry... what the hell... I twas working perfectly the first time I wicked it (similar to PBusardo's but cut out the excess that was coming out of the wick holes.

I got a bit excited when I saw the Subox kit and got close to ordering a set, but the lack of an adjustable 510 pin is a deal killer for me. I'd probably buy one if/when that is included, but then there are some new, reasonably priced, temperature control devices coming out soon, so...

So to those who've messed around with the new vertical coils:

Do they spray your mouth with juice?
(Like the OCC's...)
Do they taste like hot rubber above 30 watts?
(Like the OCC's...)

I'm hoping for a huge improvement!

so far no spit back at all, and i haven't noticed any rubber taste and i've ran it all the way up to 50w with the .5 ohm coil

I agree that wicking like this vid will produce good vapor for a tank or two but for better flavor, higher wattage (30w and up) and MUCH longer wick life, it needs to be wicked much heavier than that. Chunky wicking rules!! Pics coming soon.

Re that wicking vid posted above: It looks to me like he cut the cotton pad against the grain of the organic cotton pad. To each is own, but I'm convinced that you get better wicking if you cut with (i.e. parallel to) the grain of the cotton fibers.

I think I had better results that way. I've never vaped above 20w before, so wicking my RTAs was with just enough cotton to make it snug and that's it. The first time I wicked this, I packed it in to where it was not being that easy to pass the cotton through and surprisingly it kept up very well. I don't know what the best way is though, I'd love to see some pics / video.

He cut the pad with the grain but the direction of his coil wind was backwards. You want the coil legs to be pulled AWAY from coil when tightening; not pushed toward the coil. He also didn't use his winding mandrel (screwdriver in this case) to steady the coil during tightening; instead he just reefed on the coiled in every direction with the screwdriver and ruined the coil symmetry. That's a recipe for a burny vape at 20w.

Just got my black kit yesterday from My Vapor Store. I had my MVP 20 watt and Aerotanks for a long time and always said I would never get into sub-ohming or rebuilding. Not worth all the hassle. Thought I had found my sweet spot and was set. Damn you Kanger. This beast has changed my mind and made a liar of me. I don;t know how I could ever go back to an Aerotank. I think this has officially become a hobby too.

Not even gonna take the time to list all the errors in this vid. Terrible coil symmetry for sure but at least he wound the coil the correct direction for a STm....

That's almost as much wick as I use when chunky wicking....lol .Even though it might seem that wicking that heavy would oppose good juice flow, the opposite is true. Cotton fibers held in closer proximity wick better; it increases the capillary effect. That is, to a point. You can over wick a kayfun style rta but it's difficult unless you're tootle puffing at lower wattages where you don't want so much flow (flooding). To over wick a STm I would have to use so much cotton that I'd have to roll it down rock hard to get it through the coil, and I almost do, almost.

I'm a lung hitter at 30w and use more cotton than that vid. I chain vape my STm on the 2-hole afc setting where I feel it makes the best flavor....pretty good clouds too but another payoff with chunky wicking is super long wick life. I have vaped down 90ml of cleanish juice but normally change out the wick at around 75ml with that cleaner juice. Wicking with my dirtiest NETs lasts about 30ml. Wicking with my DIY RY4 NET usually goes to about 60ml.

Ever notice how much cotton is packed into factory occ coils? Who would buy them if they couldn't do 30w and last longer than two tanks?
