I always thought leaky STM with OCC was user error.
I have 5 STM and they only leak with the RTA.
I was wrong.

My buddy's subox tank, with OCC coils, was leaking through the afc holes.
I gifted him a couple of sets of o-rings and a spare glass.
One (or both) of them completely fixed the leak.
Over priming my occ made mybtank leak outta the afc...

Just bought the black subox from eight points b&m for $80. Coming from using a dripper for so long this thing really stands up to it performance wise. I haven't found anything I dislike about it yet.

There are several pieces of what looks like red tape included in the box. I'm wondering if these are for wrapping the battery to make it match the color scheme since it shows through the cover..

Thanks for the advice, there'd seal at the bottom of the cool was sitting well one side and awfully the other. New coil, although I could only get the older style 1.2 ohm coils. They hit a lot harder. So far no leaks, also with the 1.2 older horizontal cool is a lot more popping and crackling noise normal?
turn down your wattage. 1.2 is I believe 10 tor 25 watts. Start low and gradually raise the wattage until your coil is broken in.

I got the craftsman original red/black. :) I work on our cars so it was an investment of the money I saved not having to put them in the shop. Sears.com
Is there anything you can't do? I have some older craftsman stuff built tough as nails, the newer stuff, not so much. I miss the good old days.

Yes, that's exactly what the red tape is for. Nice to see another positive post on the subox. Really enjoy mine.

Tell me about it! I like to pick up old Craftsman tools at yard sales.
Most people hear the Jack of all trades quote and assume it is a bad thing. I like to follow the idea behind the original quote.
~"Jack of all trades, master of none,
Often times better than a master of one"~
I mostly just learn new things to keep my brain from going level 5 meltdown. And I pick up things pretty easy.

If you ever need a new husband, I could use a new mechanic :)
That is funny. I worked at Auto Zone for about 2 years and the old timers would come in and ask for a man to help them find what they needed. I used to let them know that if I couldn't help them, I would find them a man who could. Never had to get a second opinion.

I used to sell kitchens at IKEA. We had one man in our department for like 2 weeks. A few times, customers would insist that he help them (instead of me), and he would ask me their question in front of their faces.

I had a few instances where the guys would hear this and disappear to the back.

If people don't want to wrap the stickers around their batteries, this is what I did and it has worked out pretty well.

Take one of the stickers and cut it in half. Then take another sticker, and stick the one you just cut in the middle of the full length one so you have the colored sides facing out on each one. Then stick the whole works on the battery door but make sure you line up the colored half sticker over the "K" logo on the door. Hope this makes sense.

The cutout for the battery door is also a heat vent for the battery. By pasting a sticker on the vent is not very reccomended.

True, but the chances of venting an 18650 with a 50w regulated mod is slim to none. Still, "I" would not cover the vent......I like my face too much.:hubba:
