I've been pretty disappointed with the nautilus so far after all hype I heard. I am 3 days in and it gives inconsistent hits. Oftentimes I am getting no flavor whatsoever although it is producing vapor. I've got some 5 Pawns Gambit 50 pg/vg which is very flavorful but I'me getting nothing from it. I do have BVC replacement coils and will try those later. But so far I like the Aerotank V1 much
better than this.

I had the same sort of issue with mine a couple of times... I would get vapor, but it's like it wouldn't wick up any of the liquid and it tasted like old, burnt out wick. If I close up the air holes and pull on it a couple of times until I see air bubbles float up through the liquid in the tank and then open the air holes again it seems to fix it. I usually only have that problem when my wicks are getting a bit older but it did happen once on the second day into a new wick. I'm gonna remember this thread if I keep running into the same problems.

I'd like more info on problems with my Aspire Nautilus. This is my very first post on the forum. The spring under the head of my Nautilus got so crusty with brown stuff, that when I tried to clean it, the spring just crumbled and fell off. Now it is unusable. What the heck!!?!!!! Can it be fixed? Can the spring be replaced? My guess is NO. My question is, is this normal wear and tear? It isn't very old, just 3 or 4 months old. I sure never expected the spring to disentigrate. Any ideas or what's a better tank than the Nautilus?

I truly appreciate the new type heads advice. Hummm, BVCs. I'll try and find to use on my other Nautilus. In the meantime, I shall await your advice. Thanks in advance.

There really isn't any other advice. Use the coils you have, when you're out of them buy BVC.
That's pretty much it. They changed from bad to good.

That's (probably) pretty good advice!

I ordered a 5-pack of BVC coils just to see what all the "hype" was about.

When my BDC coil started to fail I replaced it with one of the new BVC ones.

WOW!!! What a transformation!

(Only problem...I now have three 5-packs of the old BDC's that I now realize I will never use.)

At least you got smart! Use the BDC's. They're good for a day or two!

BTW, I didn't realize when I typed this but, the help answer is right above your "This is my very first post on the forum" post.

My question was about the spring under the coil in the bottom section. I ready bought, and love, the new BVCs. But the spring that rusted off has ruined my Nautilus.

I wasn't sure if ya'll were talking to me or not. Has anyone had the rusty spring break off?

FWIW, I was having all kinds of problems with my Mini. I shelved it till I heard of a place in town that buys used equipment. I knew I wouldnt get much but I took it in anyway. They guy suggested I switch out the coil with the older non vertical coil. He opened one up, put it in, filled my tank up with Ben Johnsons Cr3am (loooove), and had me give it a try. It was amazing. A little less harsh, just as much flavor, no splitting or gurgling. I am one happy camper!! I freaking love this tank now.

i know you purchased the nautilus
from a reputable company.
is there any possible way the tank isn't a genuine Aspire?
Just a thought from an observer.

As far as I know, it's genuine. My Nautilus came with the Aspire logo on the tank and in the right packaging. Although i hear China can get away with all kinds of forgeries.

Thanks for your input. I appreciate it. I guess I'll buy another one from a different store. I have a new vape shop I really trust. Thanks!

Leigh (the OP). I also was having the same issue using the Nautilus Mini with G2 Drunk Monkey juice which is 70% VG. It was fine on the first ever 1.8ohm BVC coil. With the second coil I put in though it tasted awful, burnt and dry hits. So I bought some 1.6ohm BVCs. With these though I was also getting dry hits and burnt flavour. So I went back to my supplier and they replaced them with 1.8ohm coils.
Then, instead of filling the tank up with the Drunk Monkey I began vaping on a 50/50 juice which vaped fine, and has been vaping fine all along regardless of which resistance coil I use. Just now I left a little of the 50/50 juice in the tank and then topped up with the Drunk Monkey. I also primed the wicks by dripping a few drops of it directly on them. After a few minutes of gurgling and spitting the juice is vaping well now! Fairly sweet flavour (can't tell for sure because I still have the stronger pomegranate and mint flavour lurking around in my mouth).

My thoughts:

I probably burnt the wicks on the second 1.8ohm coil that I tried, which caused the burnt flavour from.

The 1.6ohm coils are either badly made (having read several complaints from users online) or can't handle the higher VG content.

So, I suggest trying 1.8ohm BVCs only. And also, equally as important, priming/wetting the wicks by using a 50/50 juice first. When it's almost finished (don't use it all up, leave a small amount in the tank to ensure the wicks are still wet) add your desired higher VG content juice, making sure you drip some directly onto the wicks as well. Take some dry pulls to pull the juice up to the bottom of the wicks as well, making sure you do this by either covering the airflow hole with your finger or having the hole of the airflow adjuster ring in between the holes of the tank. Then give it 5-10mins of normal vaping (gurgling and spitting may occur during this time) before hopefully seeing the result you are after.

My two pence worth from experience.
