New member with Provari P3, new to VV/VW, having an issue

Hey all

I'm a new member here and as such can't post in any other space, so I guess l'll ask my question(s) here.

I was a pack & 1/2 to 2 packs a day smoker for over 15 years. I switched to vaping about two years ago. I basically started with Halo, worked my way up to a Triton, and have been happy there for the past year & 1/2 or so. I'm a big fan of their Tribeca liquid.

Recently I decided to try vv/vw and purchased a Provari P3. Going off a chart I found over at PBusardo's website, I should be in the area of 3.4 Volts/6.4 Watts on a 1.8ohm tank (trying the Aspire Nautilus that came with my P3).

The taste is terrible - tastes metallic.

Has anybody else experienced this? It's kinda driving me nuts. I understand taste is subjective but wow. :(

While I'm at it, I'm open to suggestions for various juice to try. As I said, I'm a big fan of Tribeca, but open to anything else that tastes similar to Marlboro Lights (my old cig brand).

Thanks!
Phil

Hi Phil and welcome to the forum!

What Topwater says is good advice. Start off low and slowly increase the wattage. If you get a slight burnt taste, lower the wattage a notch.

Hope it helps and Happy Vaping!

As others have said, 6.4 watts is really low for a Nautilus. I'd start at 8 or 10 and move up slowly, trying not to go over 15 watts. If the flavor is still bad I'd clean the tank really good and change the coil, Tribeca should taste great in the Nautilus.

I haven't found a liquid real close to Tribeca, my all time favorite also, but I have a nice RY4 Double recipe I make that's in the same ball park and really good.

The istick 20 cannot step down output / buck / down regulate / output less than battery voltage.
So when using a 1.8Ω head even when set to 6.8w - 7.4w no matter what the display shows you are actually vaping between 7.6w ~ 9.8w until the battery's charge drops below 3.7v
If you use the 1.6Ω heads the discrepancy is greater.

I might also suggest the Mountain Oak Vapor line. You do have to let the tobacco flavors steep for at least 2 days to get good flavor out of them. I tried the classic country and was miffed at first. The taste was perfumed. I had looked up steeping and did exactly that and now the flavors are just simply amazing. Also found some deserts that I actually like from there. I just ordered Roasted Coffee, Pendragon, Sunday Morning, Vanilla Dream, Americano, and white leaf. I am still trying to find my exact rotation. Takes me a bit because I find flavors that I like but not willing to vape them all the time. So far my absolute favorites are apple wood, double barrel (root beer float), classic country. When this order comes in I will find my rotation and will stick to those.

Hi welcome and congrats on the p3! The Nautilus is a good tank, but like tj said...you have options. Also, I love Busardo but he may not be the best housekeeper. I'd guess that chart is about 2 years old..... And in vaper years, that's somewhere around 1905. Make sure the coils are primed and tinker around with the wattage until you find your sweet spot.
