Hey guys,

So after i switched from joyetech vtc mini (was happy with it but got bored with it) to vtc primo (very ineffective with batteries, drains like crazy even when the mod is turned off and the "weak battery" message issue is just riddiculous), i'm once again looking for a new mod.

What i'm looking for is a single 18650 TC mod with a minimum of 50w of power, and is nice to the battery in it. The smok AL85 caught my eye, but i've read that it's also pretty bad battery wise. Any comments on this?
I've also had an istick pico and i don't feel like getting another one. Lets just say it aged badly (at least mine did).

I haven't been following the scene so i don't know what's been released lately. Do you guys have any suggestions?

Thanks a lot!

I'd personally stay away from anything made by SMOK. They have their fans who love them, but there are just as many people who have had major issues with them. Notorious for poor quality control and poor customer service.

My current and nearly all time favorite mod is the JAC Vapour series B DNA75W. 75 watts from a DNA chip. Very pocket friendly. Easy on batteries. I vape at 30 watts, and I get nearly a day's use with the Samsung 30Q 3000mah 15 amp batteries. If you're vaping at 50 watts typically, I'd suggest using one of the 20 amp batteries. JAC Vapour

Thanks, I'll check them out!
I'm usually at around 40ish watts, been on the LG HG2 since they came out. Haven't found a better battery since!

I don't think you'll go wrong with a Jac-B. I have enough single battery mods, or I'd buy one. I keep having "buy one" float through my head anyway. LOL.

I guess the other single battery mod I might recommend would be a geekvape ages. It's one of the most indestructible mods around, you can dunk it in water roll over it with your car, etc, and it will continue to work. It was designed for heavy duty environments and as compared to the smokalien, well, it's the absolute opposite as far as longevity.

I, personally, am not sure I'd buy the smokalien. The feedback on that mod is absolutely abysmal, to be quite honest. Sometimes, it's better to move to a different manufacturer, and avoid potential problems, unless you love and desire the mod and are willing to deal with the fact that it may die on you, two weeks out of warranty. Etc.

I'm starting to wonder if the reason so many new smok mods get released is that the folks using them and enjoying them have come to expect they won't last, but they don't care as they are moving on to the next "latest and greatest mod." It's a theory, and to be fair I think smok has upped its QC game a bit, I have seen less overall complaints. But, the smokalien was designed during the height of Smok wanting to rush products to deeming as fast as possible thinking the hammer would fall.

The smokalien was developed prior to improvements, and if you get a mod that has sat for a while, well, you are within that "time period" where it seemed every second smok mod failed.

I'd got with mostly ANYTHING else.

Single 18650 mods never worked for me as far as battery life. Unless i vape at 20 watts. Maybe look into 26650 mod or a compact duel. The alien 85 is 48mm by 71mm. Something like the sigelei 213 is duel battery and 44mm by 88mm. So thinner and a little taller with double the batteries.
Or, you can do like I do and carry a spare charged battery in a plastic battery case. A smaller lightweight single battery mod is easier to pack around than a dual/triple battery mod.

I second the Jac B DNA75. Its size, ergonomics and TC function is second to none. I love it. Sure you'll be happy with it.

... And baby makes three.

It's a great mod and a person can easily carry two in a hand for long Outs & Abouts. I'd wrap them though because they might scratch up otherwise.

I didn't even notice Jac was an EU supplier :D
Added a 0.7gbp battery cover and it's free shipping, wooo!
In 5-10 days I'll be a happy man, thank you once again everyone!

Just remember - five clicks, JAC ON; five clicks, JAC OFF.

:vapor:

You had me scrambling, looking for the battery doors. I'm a doofus.

I really like those little Efest rubber battery covers you posted. Perfect for carrying out and about. I pick them up at VaporDNA every once in a while when I need a little more to get my order to the free shipping point. Think they are like $0.99 if I recall.

I wouldn't mind having a 20700 cover like that, the big double battery 20700 cases are a bit much to carry around. Then again, a 20700 lasts me a very long time and I don't usually need a spare. I found a used prescription bottle that is perfect for 20700's with a cotton ball at both ends of it.

It's absolutely perfect for my style and it works like a dream. Feels perfect in the hand as well, for now by far the best mod I've owned!

Looks great, Rip, and I'm glad you like it!

Should the urge strike, feel free to stop by @Katdarling 's thread for info, chatter, and/or a whole gang of absolutely nothing. :)
