New Quitter, new Vaper, and a Major Concern

I started the ecig 4 weeks ago and havent had an analog since. I smoked about 1.5 packs a day and started out with 26mg. My husband had a harder time and we got him a box from madvapes....he hasnt had an analog since. He missed the throat hit and the box gives him that. We have been able to lower our nic to 16mg now. We have so much energy. I am an all day vaper.....i take little hits all day, my hubby does the big hits and goes longer between vapes. Its the best decision we ever made! We are also fortune to be so close to madvapes if we have any questions or need anything, we can just go to their store. The staff and owner are very helpful and knowledgeable. Keep at it and you will find what you need

It seems this is a very common effect. Someone who has been smoking for a number of years switch to vaping, then finds him/her self just vaping like crazy.

I quit analogs a week a go, and my ego-T is my new buddy. I carry it everywhere and puff on it constantly. I think once the body has accepted the fact that sigarettes are no longer and the brain will give in as well, I think the urge to vape will minimize as well. I am not sure how long that will take and will vary from person to person, but I know that it will given enough time.

Untill then, just keep on vaping and continue to clean out those lungs:vapor:

All I am seeing is: "I am using more..."

I think it could be a concern. Yes, going away from tobbaco is certainly a good thing, but what is the consenquence of inhaling that much nicotine and its support (glycols and flavors)? I prefer try to limit it. And isn't it good to feel a buzz when you start vaping when you got low in nicotine ?

Be careful.

Vaping requires more frequency than smoking. As some have said, the smoke particles coated with tar are small enough to enter the air sacs in your lungs. Vaping mist particles are too large, from what I've read. The lungs don't absorb nearly the nicotine that is absorbed in your mouth and in your sinuses. To get a better nic hit, exhale slowly through the nose or hold it in your mouth and then French inhale from the mouth into the nose.

When you feel a cigarette urge come on, grab the PV and hit it hard for a minute or so (slowly, every 10-15 seconds). Close your eyes and relax as you exhale. You will feel the urge go away. Develop a feel for that and learn to recognize the feeling. Learn to relax and vape. Savor the feeling. Take a deep breath and enjoy it. It will curb your desire to go after a cigarette.

Don't leave your e-cig sitting out next to you. Try putting it in a box out of reach so you are making a very conscious decision each time you want to vape.

Blasphemy! PVs are like a loyal dog... right by your side.

Maybe even put the carto and battery in a cigarette package if you really want the analogue feeling. Remove the cart each time and attach it when you want to "smoke." Make it a little procedure like lighting a cigarette. Go outside. Pour a glass of water to go with your vape session and stop when the glass is empty. I understand the need for a little ritual because I rolled my own cigs. I kinda miss rolling more than smoking.

"LISTEN MAGGOT, you're now in Camp Vapinyoazzoff! Forget all that sissy civilian 'do this, you'll feel better' BS. You're feeling better already! You're now a vaping machine! Suck it up and blow enough vape that Al Gore will faint from your carbon footprint. Naw, he doesn't even know that there's no combustion, don't tell 'em. Let him sweat!

Now drip and give me fifty puff ups! Remember... we leave no joose behind!!!"

I gots to agree with the other vets. Chain vape it. If that's what it takes, by golly do it! Seems to me your looking at it from a quit smoking (analog) quick view. Don't bother in my opinion. Keep your PV near you until you are not quite so panicky. THEN look at cutting it down. You'll NEED to vape more to get the same amount of nicotine.

Now here's another I havn't seen here on your thread. I'm sounding like a broken record LOL

You are addicted to SEVERAL chemical's in analogs. Not just nicotine. So you WILL go through SOME withdrawls. Part of YOUR withdrawls appear to be panic :0). Note I said appear to be. SO, for those panicky feelings, VAPE I say!!! Listen to your body, but vape your little heart out!! Your lungs will thank you!!

:hubba::thumb:All round good advice and info here about needing to vape more because it delivers less nicotine than analogs. Also interesting that we might be addicted to other substances than nicotine from the analogs.

I think this info should be stickied in the noob forums, because any sensible noob vaper is not diving head first into chain-vaping without having a few concerns.

Thanks for the wisdom, I love this forum :thumb:

...

3 days into the journey - and I am vaping like crazy. Part of it is the idea that I can "smoke" inside - but I imagine that part is this body panic over not giving into the "ritual." I'd find any reason to "go outside" and suck down as many cigarettes as I could. Even so, I averaged a pack a day.

NOW FOR THE MAJOR CONCERN:

So, my concern. I am sucking on this KR808d (is that right?) CONSTANTLY. I'm sleeping fine, and don't have nearly the "lost zombie" feeling I did when sleeping cold turkey - but how do I "ritualize" vaping?

Do you guys find yourself just sucking on this thing all day (because you can, because it's not enough nicotine, because it's fun(!!!)) or is there some way to moderate and find a closer analogue to analogs?

Thanks!

As everyone has said - don't sweat it.

The MAIN CONCERN you should have is getting past the analogs - for good. :)

I've been vaping for a little over six months without going back to analogs . Prior to that I tried to kick a 33 year habit several times without luck.

At first I was vaping EVERYWHERE. I took the thing to bed with me, I was that paranoid about needing a "nic-fix".

Now there are hours that I don't even think about it, I can even go to the grocery or doctor's appointment without sweating it.

Of course, when I'm at my computer I chain vape on my pass-through like crazy, but that's because I love that Kona Cream and just can't get enough of it

Your experience will be different than mine because - it's yours. Just try not to worry about the little details when you're working on the bigger goal - NO ANALOGS HERE.

:)
Have fun vaping

I too, vape all day. It stays with me everywhere I go. I hit it whenever I want, wherever I want.....but I also drink LOTS of water! I didn't used to drink much water. I would rather have Dr. Pepper on an IV tap...but I found I was having increased headaches and read here in the forum that the PG causes dehydration...Lots of water = no headaches!

Instead of substituting vapes for analogs, I find myself just vaping indoors all day long but still going outside for analogs at about the same rate as before. Also, after I vape, I usually immediately want an analog.

To me, that sounds like you are using too low a nic level. I was smoking 3 packs a day, and started vaping using juice with 24 mg nic. That let me cut down to 10 cigs a day or so, mostly due to cravings right after I ate. Last week I got some 30 mg nic juice, and I've been using it to drip-vape after eating. After I started doing that, I've been off the cigs, using the 24 most of the time, and the 30 right after eating.

if you're vaping and that just leaves you wanting a cig, I think you need to try a higher nic level.
