I'm about as close as you'll find to vaping exclusively 1-battery mech squonkers.

MOST of them sport a simple 26g. 316L SS coil in the range of 0.45. That's 5.5 or 6 wraps. Often spaced. Some 2.5 and some 3.0mm.

I have a few RDA's that need a dual, for which I fall back to 28g. Ni80 so I can land in the same resistance range.

I have a very small selection of purchased coils (claptons, fused claptons, and aliens) that I'll toss in the mix occasionally - literally have a few of each, and don't know the specs offhand except most recent purchase from Fresno Fog that's thoughtfully labelled "MechAlien, 28/36 N90 3mm .24 ea". Thought that might be "too hot" for me - but while a bit "lively," it's vaping just great.

:)

I strictly run only mech squonk mods. I do not use regulated mods only because I have not found a single one I actually like.

On my profiles I run the .18 kanthal strips. On my small, single coil RDAs I use triple core fused claptons at between .24 - .3 ohms. I have not used a dual coil RDAs for quite a long time now so I have no words to share on those.

Are there any bad points to the wismec luxotic bf mod? It's showing up on clearance at a few places, due to the luxotic surface being released.

I know it's unregulated but has protection. And uses proprietary bottles. Just not sure if it leaks like a sieve or not ;)

I recall reading that some people had Problems with Big Time Leaking.
Yep, they leak. Thats what causes the auto fire problem.
I bought 5, they were very cheeeap :) I was aware of the issues but was also aware of how to fix the problems.
Its a simple fix, but you shouldnt have to do it.
The one I use I didnt do the fix until I had experienced the leak. That happened during the first bottle.
Going forward I will apply the fix as I unbox them and before I use them.
There is a vid on yt
The fix I did was to clean it all out with isopropyl and let dry.
Install a non squonk atty.
Pull out the pin that is the point of the leak and clean and dry out inside.
Apply loctite to the pin and a bit inside and reinsert pin.
Place an O ring inside the 510 connector, 6mm or 7mm, maybe it was a drip tip O ring? I cant remember.
The next step isnt in the yt vid and probably an overkill
Then I covered the circuit board with a potting compound...or you could use a non acidic silicon, maybe?

Dry as a bone ever since, no problem. But I keep watch, same as any mod.
Its all a bit fiddly and time consuming but I like the mod, looks good, feels good. Cheap at run out prices.

I used JB Weld on my pin, love the stuff. ;)

Mine was autofiring at one point and it was bone dry inside, it eventually stopped doing that, but I don't trust it and always remove the battery when not in use.

I'm glad to see there's a fix. The size of them and the look of the resin panels are awesome :thumb:

    BTW, JAFYI...

I have been using a Wismech Surface 80w as a Daily driver for the last Couple of Months. Whatever Wismech did with the Surface 80w it seems to be Working.

Because I have had Zero Leakage or Seepage on any of my Surface 80w's.

Good to know. I prefer vw/vv and tc mods to mech or reg mechs. I only bought the luxotic bf's in case of a vapocalypse type situation. Also because they look good and were cheap :)

I'm glad to hear that. It's the smallest regulated squonk mod there is - I'm hoping Arctic fox will support it soon too, if they haven't already. It's definitely on my wish list :thumb:

It's in TC mode @ 400F thanks to Arctic Fox firmware. Which came in handy when I was too busy vaping, and forgot to squonk

The Squeeze 2 is an absolutely brilliant new squonker mod. The bottle comes out easily and with no mess, you can refill the bottle through its' top cap with a chubby gorilla bottle, and the bottle has a good level of firmness vs squishiness.

    I'm loving it :thumb:

I got it for $24 here:
Eleaf Pico Squeeze 2 TC Squonk MOD 100W
Use code Labor12 for 12% discount or after 5th Sept code Cause10 for 10% discount

With the Exception of a Very Small squonk window in the door (an easy fix with a Dremel or a Hand File) it is a Great Compact Mod.

As to Arctic Fox? Well... that might be an Issue. Because the Surface 80w Doesn't have a USB port. It's kinda an Off The Grid mod.

Yeah.... Only Squonk I know with Arctic fox support is the pico squeeze 2. No plans for more yet, as every mod that can run it or red panda has a flash file already.

Do you think an Arctic dolphin side fill bottle would work? I'd love an arctic dolphin/fox box mod...

No, but if it uses a nuvonton board, it could be soldiered on, but no you'd still have to convert the flash to support it, or trick the software to recognize it as a different mod to flash, and hope it'd work.
