I saw some of these at the hobby store this weekend. More expensive but I thought they were very slick. I don't know if they make them the same material as the catch cup.

The only problem with that switch and most the switches you run into is the diameter the wider the switch the deeper I have to cut into the wood the mod is round keep in mind .Most of these on off switches would work fine in a large mod but the mini well there isn't that much room.

Yes it is steel, no it's not the door catch. Magnet to steel is not nearly as strong as magnet to magnet :)
If you look at the top of the mod you will see the magnet for the door.

yeh, i knew that was the magnet for the door - i just thought that bottom plate would slow it down a bit when that door magnet slides down and contacts that plate.

I hear what your saying but the magnet on the mini is the same size I use on the woodvil it has some grabbing power

It does sound so simple to us, because we don't have to deal with the design limitations and the tight tolerances that the Mini creates. I'm sure Rob racked his brain for the right switch, since he is a craftsman and a perfectionist, and thats good enough for me. Now pulleeze put them in the "in stock" bin asap!

Rob, This 19mm switch is a little big but would be kinda cool. I'll PM you anything I might find that will work.

Using this switch, would eliminate the need for the kill switch. Because it wont activate unless skin touches it, meaning it wont just go off in the pocket...

One of the big selling features of the Reo's was that it was ALL Mechanical. I have the Mini, awesome product. In this mod, the mini Woodvil I see wires why the switch from all mechanical? Can we expect these in the future mini's and grands? Just wondering.

The wood REO mods have always been wired (wood does not conduct current, so an all mechanical wood mod is nearly impossible) The metal REOS, have always been, and will remain, all mechanical.

OK lol i have been looking at the pics some more....I still like the switch but i agree that the ring around it is not the best and from a looks standpoint

It would draw my attention and i would have to wonder why its not all black or brass .......

Now from a function stand point i would not care about the color of the ring it functions looks pretty good and is smaller

I understand that there is not a wealth of switches out there for this application

My final thought is i like it im sure it functions great
Does it match? No Does it draw some attention aesthetically Yes

I dont think anyone could complain....Honestly Like others have said function should be foremost then looks
