Based on the PB video I think I have the V1, for what that may be worth. I keep thinking about making a sort of washer to put in but can't come with easy way to do it. Maybe I'll sort of cast a slug of copper in fiberglass resin and give that a try instead of fooling with battery caps. Of course the easy solution is button top batteries, LOL.

I use a dime in mine. Face of the dime faces the negative battery. If you reverse it, it sometimes doesn't make a connection.

I was really satisfied with my Invader Mini. It had occasional turn-off issues and the 5+click turn on one, but overall it was really nice.
About 2 days ago the mod started turning off much more frequently. Today, while I was vaping it it turned off again after some 3 hits and didn't seem to turn on anymore. Tried swapping batteries, taking my RDA off, nothing... RIP
Is there any super cheap TC mod to get while I'm waiting for the Sig 75w to finally be released?

What did you do with yours? My v1 did that twice on me in two months and putting a dime on the negative side of the battery allowed it turn on. You can remove the dime now if you want, as it should still turn on without it. It does for me anyway. My two v2 never did that yet.

Well, you asked about a cheapie, LOL. I have a total of five iSticks, two original 20 watt AVG, and three 30 watt RMS. The only problem I've had is the 510 connector failing on one of the originals. Replace the top cap with a Shapeways special and a Fat Daddy, better than new.

I am even sorry that I even bought an Eleaf ohm meter. As it reads 0.27 ohms too high. If you like them, that is fine with me. But I don't trust them one bit. And when customers were wanting to return their failing mods under warranty, Eleaf just told them to just buy another one had really put me over the edge. :-x

Yeah, I've heard their customer service isn't very good to non-existent. Sorry you've had problems with both Eleaf and HeatVape. I guess I've been lucky with all my mods, Eleaf, Invader Mini, IPVs, Vamo and Innokin. No "premature" failures at all, so far anyway.

What problems with my Heatvape? I loved the first one so much, I bought two more. And I never bought more than model of a mod before, but I made an exception for them. I'll probably buy 5 more before the end of the year. And while all of my other mods are working great, I just rather use my Invader Mini mods all of the time anyway.

Just got mine from 3A Vapes, is any one else getting fluctuating ohms on power mode using kanthal? And no, it isn't my build, my IPV2 reads steady. Besides its doing it on 3 kayfuns, a Nautilus BVC, and an Orchid! Temp control is working right, just not power (watts). Contacted 3A Vapes about it. Waiting on a reply.

So whatever happened with this? Phil Busardo mentioned this in his review and I have seen it in my three Invader Mini mods. But like Phil mentioned, it gets the regulation right even if the resistance readout varies a little.

Never used a Kanthal coil in the Invaser Mini. I got it for the TC, and price and durability, and prefer TC over VW. Now I've got a bunch of VW mods that don't get used much.

I used VW first on my six Subtanks (using RBA) and my drippers. All I needed was nickel wire and I would be all set. So I got some and used it in a Mutation XL first. That went well and I tried one Subtank. That too went well and started using nickel coils in more and more of them. I am not sure if I ever will build another Kanthal coil again? :pop:

I tried nickel but could taste it, metallic taste wouldn't go away even after three tanks worth. Now I use titanium. Easier to work with, too.

I heard that about 20% of individuals are allergic to nickel. Maybe that is why you can taste it? So far I can't taste the nickel, nor can I taste stainless steel. But devices with brass or chrome I can taste. That is one reason I had to stop vaping from my four Nautilus. They use a chrome plated brass chimney when they claimed it was 100% stainless steel, those damn liars!

I returned it to 3A Vapes due to more issues developing, namely the 3 screws on the 510 connection stripped out. But to make things really worse, 3A Vapes tried to pull a fast one and say they never got it. So two months, a credit card claim, and postal investigation later, I got my money back! I'LL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH 3A Vapes AGAIN! So I got an ipv4 and its amazingly easy to use and solidly made... Can't run over it with a car, but hey... It works!

There is intelligent life here

So I got home from work and had an email from Vape NW to say they were sorry I was having problems and for me to send a picture of my issue so they could better assist me. The Invader Mini powered up briefly this morning but said I had an atomizer short, I changed coils on the atomizer (3 different coils) I also tried a different tank. The screen when it did light up still said atomizer short even though everything would work on my other mods. It flickered it's last little bit of life and died in my arms, I never even got to take a toodle puff. I don't know what a DOA mod picture is supposed to show but I sent them a picture of the dead body anyway. I have a bad feeling that I just purchased a $50 brick. Really, you want pictures of a DOA mod:glare: I will see what the next email brings, they may want me to do an autopsy.

I will keep everyone posted and hopefully they will resolve my issue quickly, if not everyone will hear about it, the power of social media can have devastating effects.:danger:

Yeah a movie is the way to go in these types of things. If you have another mod, just use the same battery on another mod. Or put it in your charger and then from your charger to the mod. I had it with a vamo v5 or 6 it would just not fire any atomizers after 1 day. So I made a movie switched batteries and same atomizers onto another mod to show the difference. Matter was resolved almost instantly

I don't think I'm allergic to nickel but don't really know for sure. I don't wear nickel jewelry, or a lot of jewelry at all. I was surprised I could taste it after 50 years of Marlboros. Guess I'd have to get my ears or nose pierced and try nickel rings, but at my age that doesn't appeal to me much.
