Well I have been smoking now for over 30 years. the problem is that I actually enjoy smoking. of course I don't like what it has done to my lungs. I wheeze everynight and I do run out of breath when I am doing hard work. but I enjoy smoking. for this reason I have never really tried to stop.

I then heard an ad on the radio for smoke assassin and started to see what they were talking about. well I also did some research and found out that they have some issues regarding shipping and everything but I liked the idea.

so with some more searching I found this site. I was excited to see people in here actually talking very highly about V4L so I decided to give it a shot.

I ordered my starter pack yesterday so we'll see how long it takes for it to get here. the worst thing though so far is that I really don't know exactly what I should have ordered. I think I ordered all the things that I need. I got the ultimate starter pack an extra auto battery and 10 carts (2 different flavors)

is there anything else that I need to get?
is there anything else I need to know?
and the big question is
did I do the right thing? :) (I think I did :) )

If you got the UU kit, you did it right. Did you get any manual batts? 2 batteries come in your kit and I noticed you said you ordered another automatic. The long batteries are great, hope you got one of those. I wish I would have ordered from here when I first started, it's so much easier then a 3 pc system. Welcome and good luck.

Sounds like you got what you need to get off to a great start. I am a little under a month into vaping myself and do not regret making the decision to start or to go with V4L one bit. The product is great and the service is superior to anything I have ever experienced online or at a brick and mortar retailer.

Welcome to the V4L Family and Happy vaping!!!

You really just need a USB pass thru, 2 batteries & wall charger.
& A Lot of Cartomizers & juice. & I mean A Lot! I go through 2 or 3 a day easy, and I was just a pack a day smoker. Watch videos on youtube, there are a bunch. Next thing you will have to discover is the right dosage of nicotine. I started with 24mg. Way TOO MUCH! I've settled on 11 during the day & 8 at night. If you vape a bunch, go with a low number. Keep those batteries charged! I haven't touched a Real cigarette since I got my package. The first 2 days were very Hard "cold turkey" sort of. But I stuck it out, & here I am 45 days later. NO cough, No stinch! Just Stock Up! I can't say that enough, STOCK UP!

You did fantastic! I also love smoking (just not the smell, cost and health worries) and it's working like a charm for me. It might take a bit of experimenting to find the right flavor and nic level but it's not THAT hard to do.

thank you everyone :)
one question that I had on the batteries that I really couldn't find an answer on was the difference between a manual battery and an automatic battery.
the way I am thinking on the battery is on the manual battery you have to push the button each time you take a hit and on the auto battery you just take a hit is that correct?
most of the time when I am smoking I just have the cigarette in my mouth and take a hit without holding the cigarette at all so I am thinking that the auto battery is the one for me.
I hope I am right about that.

also the usb pass through is that a manual or auto?

You are correct on the auto/manual thing. I will say this, I was also one to have a cig hanging from my mouth, rarely grabbing it to take a drag, but these things are a little heavy for that. So, it's a habit that will have to change, that's ok though.

The passthroughs come in either auto or manual, whichever you chose.

Edit: expect to order more cartomizers almost immediately, of course, you want to figure out what you like and the correct strength for you.

Welcome to the V4L community, Wolf! I also love my analogs, my friend turned me onto the whole e-cig thing. Luckily, for you, you made a great 1st purchase with the V4L product. I was not so fortunate. I went through several other vendors until I stumbled onto this forum and made my first V4L purchase - won't go anywhere else now.

As the others have posted, you should have just about everything you need. The only other thing would be juice for refilling. You may want to just get 5ml sampler bottles until you find the flavors that you definitely like & then you can order the larger bottles. Might I suggest you watch the refilling video that KC made & follow that up with Taryn's refilling method thread in conjunction with it. Refilling just plain makes sense - didn't want to deal with it originally, however, it is much more economical to refill.

Congrats and welcome again! Feel free to post and ask questions - you will find that this is the most loving and caring community around!

The "cig in mouth" habit gets replace by one that's much better. Try sticking a lit cigarette in your pocket. Be it a shirt or pants pocket, you'll only try that once! 8-o

there will be some growing pains, narrowing down nic strength, flavors, and vaping is a little bit different than smoking, just come at it with an open mind and you will succeed at first i thought i didnt like it, after about a week i was refilling my own carts and enjoying it.

its a different habit, keep that in mind, but i think it will fulfill what you like about smoking.

good luck!

The first two days were hard for me, didn't know if I liked vaping or not. Of course, I never believed it would work. I tried it because my friend told me it worked, but being a smoker for over 30 years and loving it, I didn't even really want to quit. But I tried it and it got easier and easier. I hung on to my cigs for the first month, but cut way down to a few a day immediately. The morning ones with coffee were heck to give up, but after a month I picked up the vaporizer to replace those and have been completely smoke free now for 47 days. Sometimes I want a cig, but I wanted a cig when I smoked cigs, I just pick up the vaporizer instead of a cigarette.

If I'd have had a desire to quit, I'd have been able to stop immediately. I loved my ciggys, they were my best friend and worst enemy at the same time and I didn't want to quit. But I did anyway. I'm still shocked it works.

You did the right thing by going with this company. I've not experience REAL customer service in so long, they're like dealing with the old mom and pop stores before everybody got too big for their britches in business.

oh another thing that I have noticed here is people talk about rotation. what exactly are they talking about on that? you cannot just use 1 battery and 1 cart till the battery is dead or the cart is empty? what is a good rotation to use?

I could be wrong but.. I think you definatelty can use a battery and cart until it's gone, but it's suppsedly better to rotate your carts and let them cool/settle and they last a little longer. Like I said, I could be wrong.

Nope ,you can use one batt and cart until one or the other (or both) are dead, but the point of rotation is two-fold: one, vaping will heat up the carts, and the hotter they got, there's more of chance of burning those carts (or burning your lips - they can get that hot if you don't give them a break.) This is especially important when the carts start getting empty. And two, most of us love the flavors available and love the variety that vaping brings. I am usually switching between 2 to 4 different carts whenever I vape...

Hello and welcome to all the new ones here!

During the day, I have a battery with a carto on. Because I work at a school, obviously I can't vape much during the day. Mostly on the drive to work, at lunch, and drive home. Since I am not power vaping, just taking a puff here or there this is fine.

When you are chain vaping (which I sometimes do at home) it is a good idea to have 2 going and rotate so that the cartos don't get too hot and fry. I usually use my pass through and an extra long battery. I will generally take 2 puffs off one, then set it down and take 2 off the other. This way neither carto gets over heated.

If I had a long commute to work and chain vaped then, I would probably have two batteries going then as well, but I only have a 5 minute drive. ;)

If you have any questions, just jump right in and ask! We tend to be a helpful bunch here!
