Hi- I'm new here also, and this is very helpful. I placed my order last Friday, shipped out yesterday - I am anxiously awaiting arrival. Don't have a clue what I'm doing, but hopefully will get it figured out when it arrives. I saw on this thread to order lots of carts - I ordered a kit, some liquid and 5 extra carts.......am I going to be okay to start out......or should I go ahead and order more carts? Once I start I intend to make this work and sure don't want to run out before I get started good. Also, what does "pass through" mean? Thanks for the help.

A passthrough is a must have in my book - especially if you spend a lot of time in front of the computer. It has a USD connector that you just plug into your computer and that charges it - no real battery, just a battery tube that you plug your carto into. It is awesome! :D

You picked a great vendor - it would be hard to imagine getting better service anywhere else.

I am pretty new to this, too - I just stumbled onto this place after seeing a friend's electronic cigar a few weeks ago. I was curious to see what might be available in a cigarette version, not really having any serious intent to quit smoking. I saw quite a few recommendations for the Vapor King, so I ordered one. I have been very pleased with it, and as a smoker of 40+ years, I am outright amazed that I am now on day 8 of no analogs. The first couple of days I had a few cravings that weren't completely satisfied by the VK, so I'd have a regular cig - about 4 a day. I then read about a formula that says you need around 2.5 times the nicotine from an e-cig than you'd get in an analog, so I ordered some stronger cartomizers, and that has done the trick for me.

Anyway, congrats on your first step!

thank you everyone :)
one question that I had on the batteries that I really couldn't find an answer on was the difference between a manual battery and an automatic battery.
the way I am thinking on the battery is on the manual battery you have to push the button each time you take a hit and on the auto battery you just take a hit is that correct?
most of the time when I am smoking I just have the cigarette in my mouth and take a hit without holding the cigarette at all so I am thinking that the auto battery is the one for me.
I hope I am right about that.

also the usb pass through is that a manual or auto?

I'm pretty new here also. Although I haven't given up the analogs completely yet, I've cut down and I know what's between me and actually quitting is a mind game. I'll get there.

Regarding autos and manuals.

On an auto, it's your drag on the cart that starts to fire the atomizer. That can mean it takes more of a drag to get a good throat hit. (I've found myself doing a pre-puff then a drag to get it going.)

An auto battery also has a hole in the end that the cart screws on to.

On a manual, there is no hole in the battery. When you press the button it starts to fire the atomizer. So you can press it, wait a second, and get a good throat hit immediately.

My first order was for autos. My second order for my husband was manuals.

I've found I prefer the manual. But, there are others here who prefer the autos.

Thanks, thanks - I read somewhere in these posts that too much nicotine might burn - I ordered the "high" nicotine - guess that will have to be trial and error as far as too much - I figured better go high and that way I wouldn't be tempted to go to analog. I smoke about a pack a day of Eve 120's and had no idea what to order, so I went high. I was amazed at all of the flavors offered. I can't imagine when trying to substitute analogs that a coffee flavor, or banana, or any other yummy flavor would substitute and keep you happy! I'm sure once I get into this I will have to try some of them just for kicks.......I'm really excited about this - I'm anxious to get home from work just so I can check the mail in hopes it has arrived (even though I know it will be later in the week)! I had a couple of more questions come to mind - everyone talks about putting this liquid into the cart when it gets low - do you do this on the pre-filled ones too? Also, are they charged when you get them, or do you have to wait a long time to charge them up? Guess I need to find a video to watch.

Nicotine Level: I chain smoked lights. I have carts from 18 mg to 36 mg. There seems to be a delayed nicotine hit with vaping that you don't get with cigarettes. My idea has been to use 36 mg on batteries, then lower mg on the pass-thru. If you start to feel light headed, etc. you'll want to back off for a while because it will grow on you instead of go away as quickly as it would if you put out a cigarette.

So, it may take you a while to determine which nicotine level you want, or even a couple levels for different situations.

Flavors: Prepare to be surprised. Initially I thought I would want tobacco flavors, because you're replacing cigarettes, right? (I am very fond of my analogs also.) Actually, my husband wants tobacco flavors, when I'm not fond of them at all. So far my best vape is mint and I haven't smoked a menthol in over 30 years. So be prepared to try flavors you didn't expect for smoothness and throat hit. It might take a while to find your "it" flavor.

Just a note, others have been here much longer than I and may have more experience or better advice.

Well I have been smoking now for over 30 years. the problem is that I actually enjoy smoking. of course I don't like what it has done to my lungs. I wheeze everynight and I do run out of breath when I am doing hard work. but I enjoy smoking. for this reason I have never really tried to stop.

and the big question is
did I do the right thing? :) (I think I did :) )

I understand your concerns. I LOVE smoking, terrified to give it up. I know I have to, I just have to wrap my brain around that. I received my first order in the beginning of Oct. I am still searching for my IT flavor, but I refuse to give up. I've cut down from 30-40 analogs day to 10-12 a day. That is a huge success for me. I knew that I wouldn't be one of those who picked up an e-cig and quit analogs on the spot, I'm stubborn and like I said, I Love analogs. I've been smoking more than half my life, so I didn't expect to give it up easily. I've tried every gadget out there and this is the only one that has helped. I've tried all of the tobacco flavors and think that I have found one that I really like. I also like a lot of the different flavors - good for a little change, but a gal has to have her tobacco :)
Be patient, drink lots of water, don't give up if you don't take to it right away and keep coming back here for support. This is The Best Forum!! the members here are extremely supportive and helpful, kind and generous.
And yes, you did do the right thing!
Good luck!

Welcome to all new members and congratulations on your decision to try vaping instead of smoking! You've made a great choice, especially if this is your first e-cig. A lot of us tried other models first, and then we converted to the Vapor King.

You've already been given lots of great advice. So if you have any more questions, just feel free to ask them. We're all very friendly here, and we'll help you if we can. You could not have chosen a better vendor to deal with, that's for sure. Steve is always improving the products, the shipping/delivery is fast, and the customer service is top notch.

I think the hardest part is just deciding what flavors to get. Most of us started out thinking we wanted tobacco flavors, and for some that is great. But most of us moved rather quickly away from the tobacco and toward the other ones. Some of my personal favorites are pear, watermelon, Almond Joy, chocolate, vanilla, grape, cola, and Dr. Pepper. Oh, can't forget the pink lemonade -- it's new, and it's awesome.

You'll figure out the flavors and nic strengths with trial and error. Plus Steve is working on getting some sampler packs for us to make it easier to try different flavors. I'm anxiously waiting for those.

The hardest part, really, is waiting for your order to arrive. But it will be like Christmas when it does ... promise!

Again, big welcome to everyone. :D

ok first off I feel a little guilty right now. I reading all these with an analog hanging out of my mouth lol

it is funny though cause before I ordered my stuff I saw someone else post that they could not wait for their order to arrive. I was like ya ok whatever lol now ya I can't wait till mine gets here lol

which brings me to my next question. I ordered my stuff on Sunday. ok they are closed on sunday I understand that. yesterday it said my order was processing ok cool. today it said my order was shipped by usps and gave me a tracking number. this morning I checked the tracking number and the usps site didn't have it. ok I figured that they put the number on the order but it hasn't been picked up yet. but tonight I checked the tracking number again and it still has no record of it on the usps site. I would assume that they would have it in their system by now considering it is 8:00 out here on the west coast and they are an east coast company.

also does anyone know approx how long it takes usually to get your orders from the east coast so I can know how to plan for ordering more carts?

and once again thanks for the welcome :) I can already tell that you guys are great :)

oh one more thing for moonstruck. I am a dr pepper fanatic :) so I ordered the doc pepper cart :) is it really that good? :) (I hope so :) )

Yes, it really is. But understand that's not a guarantee that YOU will like it. But I love it. It's not "perfumey" like some flavors, and I swear, you can almost feel the bubbles (copied that one from another poster BTW). After you get it, let me know what you think of it. I only drank the beverage occasionally, but I really think this one tastes just like Dr. Pepper.

As far as USPS goes, you can't believe their tracking info at all. I've seen it show my orders in a distribution center in another state when I already had it in my hands. I usually get my orders here in Colorado within 3 days, 4 at most.

ok so if USPS is so bad then why does Steve use them? from what I hear Steve is all about customer se3rvice and this is one aspect of customer service that is important. would anyone actually mind paying 1 dollar more but get it fed exed? at least their tracking is good :)

USPS is bad with track, but, 99% of the time is fabulous for delivery.:thumb:

This is why I use them, as well as trying to help my local PO employee's stay on their jobs:pRound here, they are closing PO's. I like to help.

Down the road, after we get some more help with website, we hope to be able to offer additional options. For now, if it ain't broke, don't fix it:D
