I was in a very similar position as you a few weeks ago. I have a Kanger T3 and a Vivi Nova mini. I think the Vivi Nova gives off a better flavor. However, the Kanger will be more than adequate to see if vaping is for you, and we all hope it is. Knowing what I know now (considering how little experience I have) I think dripping with a 510 atomizer would have given me the best flavor and vapor production for the lowest cost, but with a higher hassle factor.

The big mistake I made originally was just buying a single battery kit (the battery lasted all day on a charge). I was trying to spend as little money as possible to trial vaping. Unfortunately the battery had a hardware failure and I did not have an extra. I was upset that I was going to have to buy a pack of cigarettes, but luckily I found a local smoke shop that carried some e-cig kits.

I have chemistry experience, so I was not worried about creating my own e-liquid. Nicotine is a poison and must be mixed to proper strengths. I have been able to play around with flavorings and strengths to customize the taste to what I really enjoy. More so than the off the shelf e-liquids. This has made it more enjoyable for me. Not that there are not any good off the shelf e-liquids out there, I just haven't found one that I like better than mine yet.

With vaping, the tactile experience is just like smoking to me and I get my nicotine. The one area lacking is the tobacco flavor, but I never considered tobacco flavor to be delicious.

I am investing in a better setup now. I am moving on to a mechanical mod and genesis style atomizer. Good Luck.

Pls let us know how it works for you. Most are happy with that kit and kangers are very popular right now. Juice is going to be the hardest of all. Most of us have to try several types to find something we really like. All and all it's still cheaper and a lot more fun that being tied to the cigarettes. It's a very liberating feeling and once you learn to make your own liquids it gets even better.

I got mail :)

Overall I think the combo of the Vision Spinner 1300mAh/KangerT3 is a great investment. I do have a bit of a gurgle in the Kanger, however. I have done a bit of research and have improved the gurgle, but have yet to totally eliminate it.

I tried a Q-tip down the center hole to take out moisture, letting it sit drip tip down in a sponge, blowing out the atty with a straw, etc.

Question - the flavor wicks - is it normal for them to get dark after a short while? The flavor wicks also look kinda "gummy" - not sure if that's normal?

I tried flipping the top gasket, but when it do it gets stuck on the center post, and the unit seems to produce less vapor.

No leaking issues that I am aware of, just a gurgle.

Thoughts? Feedback? Advice?

The e-liquid will get thicker as it gets lower. I find it is best to keep topping it off until the liquid starts getting too dark. Experience and taste will be the judge of when to clean. When it gets thick it doesn't wick as well and so the wick can dry out causing a nastier taste and burning the e-liquid (causing the color change). [Some color change can occur just from heating some ingredients in the e-liquid but this is usually not the issue.] If you let the liquid run out it will burn. The burning coats the coils with burnt e-liquid that effects flavor and performance of the atomizer. When this happens, it is time to to dry burning to clean the coil. Search for that on you tube. Easy to do. Don't worry about the wicks unless you notice vapor quality changing. Your wicks could not be wicking very well. Time to wash them. Your battery getting low can effect the vape quality too. Some people probably like to clean it every time since this will give you the best taste. No matter how hard you try, some burning will occur over time. What I said above just helps extend the time between cleanings.
