unless your job entails sitting at a computer 24/7 i would personally skip the passthru as most of the vv devices out there will last long enough to get even the heavy vapers to there happy place all day.

the apollo vtube seems like a very logical choice as its a true vv being that its not limited to just a few voltage settings but allows you to set to a exact point anywhere from 3.0v to 6.0v. (i use the lavatube as one of my main apv's and the vtube is the same exact thing, very happy with mine)

I have 2 ego twists 1000 mah. They are great. You twist the bottom to change voltages. It is impossible to read the voltage increments without a flashlight (at least or me). But, you will probably end up using the same resistance carto or atomizer and so changing the voltage will be just a little tiny twist up or down. For the price, you just can't find anything better. I purchased mine from My Vapor Store along with a usb charger. Easy ordering and fast delivery. Good Luck on your decision.

I say go with a Ego Twist. The Lava Tube quality is hit or miss and it's a throwaway.

Another alternative is to get a Box Mod they perform like champs and there are a number of American Manufacturers.
I use the Smoktek Smokbox Varicool myself and even though I have a Provari it's become my favorite Vaping device because of
the small form factor and rock solid Vape.

You may want to consider the VariCool box mods at Smoktek.com This is a no frills, nothing fancy option. (Well, except now they come in transparent clear and white in addition to the original black. And you can get a color changing LED if you want. Woo!) The VariCool just doesn't have the over engineered fuss factor problems that seem to plague a lot of VV stuff like LT's. But it is more expensive that the cheapo VV boxes out there for a very good reason: It uses a more expensive, high efficiency regulator. And that extra $$$ for the better regulator results in the box running cool (Mine has never got warm at all.) and much much longer battery run times between charges. I get about 12 hours to a set of batteries vaping at 4 volts.

I've been using a VariCool for six months now and still like it. It just works. If there is a bad review of the VariCool out there I haven't seen it yet.

You are right on about the Varicool Quality
I took it through thorough testing including torture tests and it never got hot, even when I ran it through 35 consecutive 1 minute vapes at 4.3V, or when I took it up to 6V on a Dual Coil 1.25 Cartomizer.

Yeah, I saw that earlier. Liked 'ya back on that one! Interesting to see how far you pushed this thing at the upper voltage ranges. And with no balking, shutting down or LT-esque error messages.

I don't think I have ever run mine past 4.5 volts - just the combination of hardware and liquids I'm using seems to be nice and happy in the 3.7 to 4.2 volt range. but I sure do like knowing that truly functioning higher voltage is available in this plain 'lil box if I ever need to go there.

Found the lack of a display to be a total non-issue. I have measured my voltage on occasion, but in practical day to day use you quickly figure out what setting works and where to go and how far if you need a change. It's just one less thing in a VariCool subject to failure - because it ain't in there to begin with.
