My two are using what came with them, AW IMR 18650 1600 mAh. The output volts start dropping the first 1/10 of battery drop. An example is a IKV Mega 510 3ohm carto will vape at 5.9v on a fully charged bat at 4.1v and by the time the bat depletes to 3.3v the output voltage is down to 4.6 dropping incrementally with each 1/10v drop of the battery.

I realize that most don't vape at 6v and if the most one vaped a 3ohm carto at was 4.6v or less then there probably wouldn't be a problem but one would never know for sure without an inline volt reader.

The numbers show this claim from LT to be a joke. :)

"Regulated output which keeps the voltage the same with each puff - regardless of the remaining battery power. As the battery drains, the device will keep the voltage consistent."

Errol

Well that doesn't sound good.

The reason I ask is I have a Mini-Lavatube. I bought my batteries (AW IMR 18350) seperately.

I'm not seeing any real voltage drop. But then again, I vape around 4.2 volts with a 2.8 ohm CE2 and Rarely drain the batteries below 3.5 volts.

Lavatube 1.0 has volt meter, only giving idle voltage, not under load.

Lavatube 1.5 has also Ohm meter.

Vmax has voltage meter idle and under load, and Ohm meter.

Who has these for sale or where can you read the specs on the Lavatube 1.5?

I've read up on the Vmax and certainly would like one of those with the added features of holding two batteries and the ability to read the output voltage and vaporizer ohms. Never have to worry about a two battery unit dropping output volts as the batteries drain.

Amen, brother! Tell it, tell it! :)

On paper, the VMax looks like it will be great. If it performs like its specs indicate it should, I'm going to be totally psyched. As long as they didn't f-up the button, or something else really stupid as they have in the past, we should all be in for a treat.

I agree. They are supposed to have a cool button on this things. It is 360 what ever that means :p Isn't there someone that has one already in this thread? How is the button?

Yeah, VAPNJ350 has one, but he didn't mention anything about the button. Maybe no news is good news.

I think the statement,
"There is no requirement for any mod manufacturer to have their products comply, at any time - either now or after June 2012."
removes any doubt that they are "forcing" manufacturers to abide by their rules. They are still free to design whatever they wish and sell it to whoever wishes to buy it.

Here's part of the problem. Sure enough, that is a direct quote you made... but then if you look at paragraph #5 of this post, I think it is pretty clear that ECF is indeed threatening to kick out any vendors who do not comply.

Back to the subject of the actual thread we are currently in: How could a mod with a 5 amp limit for stacked batts possibly have any orverdischarge protection?

Does anyone have any idea when a US retailer will the VMax? At $128 it's too high to compete with the Provari (since it's only about $40 more), but if the price point drops to around $75-85 and performs well, then look out!
One of our local vendors is supposed to be showing up with 10 black ones at our monthly meet up tomorrow, 4/24 (Austin, TX). Selling these (only) at $100 a throw w/o batts.

PS: Don't know what the price will be at her shop but will ask. Her site just says "V-Max coming soon".

You better dont give any publicity to this price, smoktech is cutting shipping to any vendor who sells it cheaper then 128$.

If they stick to that they must not be too into selling lots of these. I suspect the price point will change in time though..probably a couple months...

I don't have a multi rms :( but i use my "old" multi for measuring. I know it's not accurate but it can give an idea on the output V. But one thing I've noticed on the vmax is that even at 3.7V it performs superb comparing to any other 3.7 (regulated) pv :)
btw, I've a video on it where i do some tests (using my non-rms multi). It's in PT but I've added some key subs in EN for a friend, here:
