Once again, apologies for going off topic, but do you guys know who has the most tasteLESS nic? I have heard certain people say that some nic's have a peppery flavor to them I am looking for something that has no flavor. Or is flavorless the standard?

Definitely try a large variety of nic vendors and find your favorite before getting too many big bottles.

My favorite is Carolina Xtractions. They have a nice 120ml sample bottle.
Others to try VapersTek, Nicotine River, Nude Nicotine, heartland, and MFS.

I prefer my nic in a VG base compared to PG.

No, I'm just arguing that buying nic without knowing how to use it IS still being prepared.

After all, it's no more difficult than mixing a cocktail, right?

Ahh... I get it.
So you dont understand what the word "prepared" means.
Ignorance really must be bliss.

Great advice.
Wait until last minute, figure it out then.
Yep. Thats being prepared.

No, I would (and did) advise them to buy some nicotine.
If nothing happens, they're out $50.

If the vapocalypse happens, they can come on the forum and say 'hey guys, how do I use this nicotine to make juice?'

Not everyone has the inclination to diy right now, but if they suddenly can't get liquid, they will be really glad they stashed that liter of nic base.
I agree. I had no real interest in getting into DIY when I ordered my first liter of nic 3 years ago, only a few weeks after quitting smoking without even intending to. What I did have a keen interest in was being in a position where nobody would ever be able to take the miracle of vaping away from me. More than a year passed, and several more liters got added to my stash before I actually started mixing.

What it means to be "prepared" depends on the level of skill needed to perform the task at hand. The level of skill required to mix liquid that's good enough to keep a person who's bee vaping for a while off smokes is utterly minimal. Their first efforts may not be great. They may not even be sufficient to entice a noob off cigarettes, but chances are they'll be good enough to keep them from going back to smoking.

If a person has the nic, they can learn to mix when they're ready to. If they have nic and things go pear-shaped, they can probably find someone with experience to mix for them in exchange for a small fraction of that nic. But if they don't have nic, they have no options at all.

I'm a bit over 3 years into this and still at 14-15mg. Plan you nic stockpile at your current usage, not based on some hypothetical decrease that you may or may not be comfortable with.

I agree, I have tried going below 12mg down as far as 6mg; I am now back up to 12mg. At my exaulted age, my stock will be in my Will.

Doesnt make my statement incorrect.

For the 5th time:
The most important part of prepping is DIY.

If you think some other area is more important, please tell us what it is.

Realistically, the only area the FDA can regulate without challenge is nic base/ juice.

Waiting until the last minute to learn to use your supplies is definitively "not being prepared".

Its like owning a first aid kit and not knowing how to use it until thw emergency happens.

Would you buy and own a handgun and wait until the intruder breaks in to learn how to use it?
Its illogical any way you spin it.
Willful ignorance isnt preparedness.

My current 15-year stockpile of nicotine base is 12mg strength.
But I have been vaping zero nicotine liquid for almost exactly one year to the day.

So my 15-year stockpile has turned infinite.

The FDA is going after everything. Right now as I type this you can bet your bottom
dollar that BT has stacks of analysis on how their e-devices have safer wicks, coils,
carto's,juice and, batteries that are far safer than anyone else's.

What do we have? Battery safety PSA's?

So, to borrow your pistol analogy earlier, say the situation was a reinstatement of the assault weapons ban.
Now suppose I had an interest in possibly buying an AR15 in the future but haven't gotten around to it yet and have never used one.
In my hypothetical AWB, there is a grandfather clause that will allow existing owners to keep their AR15s.
The ban could come into effect any day, perhaps tomorrow.
Would you advise me to buy my AR15 right now and worry about doing a training course later, or do the course now and risk never being able to buy the rifle?

Yep, the #1 priority is stocking up on Nic, learning to mix "and" then knowing how to build your own coils. Following up closely on that is learning "how" to safely use Mech's.

They can put the hammer down and Nic very easily to the point of making it illegal. To give you an example CBD cream which absolutely NOTHING in it will give you a buzz but it is an excellent source for a topical cream for muscle/back/etc pain has just been classified as a Schedule 1. The FDA can easily put Nic in this category, so Nic is a priority to stock up on, get it in PG Base, keep it in your freezer and it will last decades.

The other components which have many other common uses can be fairly easy to obtain and constructed into a Mech.

I used to be perfectly happy as a basic Vapor using factory coils, basic mod's etc. until the FDA and Government through their greed and corruption came after Vaping. So I did my homework, but some basic equipment to DiY Juice, build my own coils and safely learn Mech's.

I really don't DiY my own juice for I enjoy what's available at this time, but I have all the supplies and the basic knowledge to do it when needed without problem.

I found that I thoroughly enjoy and prefer building my own coils, spinning my own Claptons and no longer use factory coils. I also prefer Mech's now so in essence Government and the FDA is responsible for my new and rewarding Hobby ;)

Bottom line people is this, hope for the best but prepare for the worst. The most vulnerable piece is Nic, stock up on that then steadily build up a good stash of the other pieces.

That's a good point about coils.
Its all very well being confident that you'll be able to sneak the occasional mod or tank through customs, but coils are an ongoing thing that will need to be ordered regularly.

That's why I bought ten identical rebuildable tanks and lots of spare parts :)

I think both of those are bad analogies to the situation we might be facing. Injuries requiring first aid and home intrusions tend to occur without warning and must be dealt with immediately -- as in every second counts -- and thus a person will not have time to learn the necessary skills if/when it becomes obvious that those skills really are needed.

Vapers who've planned ahead enough to have stocked nic (but haven't learned to mix yet) are also likely have a decent stock of vendor juice, and will have time to learn when if/when they can't get vendor juice any longer.

If zero works for you, that's cool. But understand that some people will never be "right" without their nic.

Yep, haven't bought anything that requires factory coils in a long time.

I use a REO and I have several RM2 atomizers still in the original bags with extra screws just waiting for the need. Wire and batteries are always going to be available. I worry about nicotine, so I have a supply for my use and that of my descendants.
We live in interesting times with an increasingly intrusive and oppressive government, all for our own good and that of the children.

They can put the hammer down and Nic very easily to the point of making it illegal.
They are not going after nicotine. They want it cheap and freely available
for BT along with coils, tanks, batteries and, juice once they weed out all of
us non-stake holders. That is why raw materials and individual components
are not regulated at the source of manufacture.

Everyone agrees that e-juice is a cash cow. When this is over every component
of a vaporizer will be a cash cow. For them, not us.

I totally agree with you about DIY. Right now they are not worried about DIY.
They are worried about the still main stream smokers and keeping more
of them from jumping ship and stabilizing the market in their favor while
capturing the majority of those that either switch to vaping or,start out
as vapers in the first place.
I have said this again and again for a year maybe more,we are not vapers
anymore. We are users of tobacco products. This is what the deeming regulations
say,not me. Even if the grandfather date is changed,it won't change the fact that
according to the law we are still tobacco product users. It might take longer for
them to crush us if the grandfather date is changed but, through taxation and future
regulatory fine tuning the eventual outcome will be the same.

Mike

Disagree, they will and are going after nicotine for it's freely available to the average Joe/Jane. That is the weak point for everything else has numerous other uses. It's the Cash Cow for both Big Tobacco and Big Pharma, thus why it is firmly dead center of their radar. Lock up with strict controls on the Nic and they will solidify their firm control and cash flow.

Best we can hope for is oppressive regulations and obscene tax's, just take a look at what the State's across the country are doing. It's all about the money at the expense of health and lives.
