I'll add my thought about the Bellus.:D Not liking it at all. Very finicky and tough, at least for me, to build on when comparing it to an atty like the Griffin. The Griffin is a dream to build on and performs excellent. I got both around the same time and the Bellus is about to go in the trash. In fact, I'm making an executive decision as I type to throw it in the trash right now. I have a Theorem coming soon... it looks very promising.
Plz don't throw it away. I'd love to give it a home, seriously.

It's not just a few people who thinks it leaks when you top fill but also reviewers. A good one is Cappy Vapes check out his review on the bellus on YouTube. Maybe your bellus is one of the good ones that doesn't leak on top fill.

Possibly,,,, But given the fact that MANY other Bellus Owners top-fill without any leaking Issues as well, a more plausible and logical Answer/Reason is that poor Ol' Cappy just ain't doing it Right.

Everyone's experience with a given piece of hardware is always going to be different.
Particularly wicking, where the differences between one build and the other even by the same person can be virtually indistinguishable. Yet one fails, and another succeeds.

Well, the Bellus and Goliath v2 were pretty high watt-capable tanks when they came out (as were the Zephyrus v1 and v2 I believe, and certainly the original Goblin), so I don't think it's about UD not being in the high wattage game. I bet the next generation of UD tanks will incorporate a lot of what's going on with the Griffin etc. The great thing with a tank like the Bellus is that it's very versatile. It can do high and low watts, mtl or dtl.

I thought this was kind of interesting... not sure when they started making it though.

My black Bellus turned up today with black perspex to match. It's a good thing I'm using a TC build in it, because without a strong back-light you can't see what the juice level is.

"You can hardly make out its shape... light just seems to fall into it! The blackness of it was so extreme that it was almost impossible to tell how close you were standing to it.."

Think I figured out why mine leaks on top fill. I was at a local shop comparing my tank to another bellus and my afc is not as tight(air tight) as his.

That would come into play if closing the afc was needed. I leave mine open and only get a leak if I got my wicking too short, or if I spend 5 minutes trying to get the top back on.
Closing the afc shouldn't help because the chamber is still vented to the air via the chimney.

I finally built my 2 new black Bellus tanks tonight. As I mentioned earlier, UD seems to have upped the care in machining as the tolerances are better than my original SS ones (better, smoother threading; tighter afc ring). And for the first time with any Bellus: no leaking upon filling. One had a few drops, but I noticed my top cap wasn't on firmly enough. As soon as I tightened it up, I vaped away the excess and it was golden. But it never became a gusher like some of my SS ones have done.

I'm rebuilding a freshly cleaned out SS one tomorrow, so I'll let you know if the previous "gushers" are more from user error or from the first runs of manufacturing/machining.

Exactly. If the wicking isn't right the deck will flood even if the afc is closed.

When you get this thing right, it knocks your socks off. I'm still getting a little leaking when I top fill, but that just seems to be the nature of the beast. I've tried different ways of wicking it, but what works best for me is basically stuffing the channels. Doing it this way, I'm not getting any dry hits.

The biggest problem for me, and yes, I'm sure it's me, is the deck. I received my Griffin around the same time I got the Bellus, and the velocity style deck of the Griffin is much easier for me to build on. The Bellus has been a pain in the neck, but I finally got it right. And when you do, it's beautiful.

I'm running ss dual coils with an i.d. of 2.4mm and 6 wraps. I hope these coils last for me a while, because I don't know when i'll have the patience to build new ones.

The Bellus does have fantastic flavour. I've had mine for quite some time but haven't managed to get the wicking perfect yet (I use several other atties so the Bellus hasn't received all the attention it should). More cotton than I would normally use seems to go a long way though.
