Reporting:
1st day on as much as 7 mg of nic in my juice. Reduced intake down to 3,5ml. Some 0,5 still to go until turning on. The whole day just MTL vaping. Somehow boring. But have to admit 3 things:
1) learned about the throat hit - not from PG but the increased nic, the salted one. With just 7mg it like slightly scratches my throat. Did try to do restricted DTL but no, thanks. I know not how people can vape 18mg and more...
2) my mouth's roof already starting to feel burnt but the tongue still feels the flavour
3) higher nic and some conscious holding back made me puffing less but still got enough nic

Obviously craving for nic was driving me into more vaping (apart from the pleasure with flavours and clouds). I will stick with 7 mg for some time.

Need however to start reducing the smokes at the same time. This shall be the hard part. If I only could bear 10 ml/day.
I think most people that smoked +- pack/day find something between 12-18mg of freebase (not salts) nic to be a good place to start. I started at 18, went down to 12, and that just didn't do it. I hang around 14-15 now. Just a thought. Glad you're getting somewhere with this. Stick with it! And seriously, try that Natural Dentist wash. It did wonders for me when I overdid it.

Yes, better. Thanks.

Thinking of that. Why? Cause with 7mg that throat itching is not enoying realy, I only feel it for a few seconds. But, it stopped me from DTL-ing and bigger juice intake.

Just this morning my symptomes were 50% less, so very optimistic. But having said that - it immediately encorages me to vape more... this morning 2 ml gone already, I can see what follows...
Simply I start to enjoy vaping too much and do the chain vape which soon results in - loss of taste abd depression.

I wozld bet higher nic + max 4 ml of juice per day would do it for me on the longer term, from the point of nic needs. But, how about enjoying the vape? Tasting various liquids? Building tanks and using mesh by some heavy DTL puffs ?

Ok, this is a start. Thanks for your help guys. Will try to re-start from here. At least I know the recipe once my problems come back: less vaping.

On the longer term I will seek for how to be able to vape 10ml/day.

Thanks. Have a good one!

Hi,

what MTL are you using currently?
You get approx 30mg of nic dailyvwith your 2ml of juice. I was getting the same with 8 ml of juice. But, 15mg would kill my throat. Besides, I also vape for fun, enjoying flavours, not just for the nic dose like you do.
Thanks, that oral water of mine is Listerine with menthol.
I am still not quite sure about the general effects of menthol - either in cigs, oral watwr or in vape... Some people say it is for cleaning your sinuses. I do feel that with my DTL in just a few puffs my lungs become to like grow.... But, within minutes my nose becomes stuffed...
Not the same with Listerin though, it helps a bit. Not a great deal though.

I've been using Doggystyle atties for about a year. But I recently won a True MTL tank, and like it even better.
I really don't have any experience with nic salts, but I'm surprised that such a low dose affects you that way. I've only used freebase from Nic River & Wizard labs. I'm also kind of surprised that Listerine soothes your mouth- pretty high alcohol content, and seems to be an astringent to me. I think that would make my mouth worse. But if it works for you, that's what matters.

That's funny, Zazie- in all the time I've been here, you're the first one that describes it like me. Most with PG sensitivity talk about throat issues. But in my early vaping days, really jonesing for hits and chain vaping, my entire mouth & tongue would feel like when you scorch it with hot soup or something. But I still had a hard time not hitting the vape that much. I had a bottle of Natural Dentist, or other oral rinse stuff with aloe & stuff like that at the office and home, just to be able to continue vaping. Going all VG didn't cure it completely - I still feel it if I overdo it. I also quit trying to get my nic down to 12 or below, but hang around 14-15mg. But over the last year, I'd kind of forgotten that mouth feeling. Though nowadays, I usually stay around 150- 200 hits a day. And when I overdo it with VG, it's mostly an issue with needing to clear my throat alot. Not like having smoker's cough, but just a little annoying bit.

I second the recommendation that you try a higher VG juice. I started off with 30PG/70VG and my tongue and the roof of my mouth started to feel like they'd been burnt. I already drink oodles of water, so I was worried I'd have to stop vaping. But then a little research led me to try higher VG liquid, and that has helped enormously (though I discovered that too much VG clogs my throat and so had to tone it down--50-60VG/50-40PG strikes the right balance for me,
yeah, drinking a lot of water also helps a bunch.

Maybe this is helful Zazie?

Definitely...the stuff I use is 20% aloe.
Listened to your advice, bought a flask of Aloe Vera mouth wash by Zuccari (IT). Highly priced 9 EUR it contains double concentrate of AV juice witg some rosemary and other herbs.

Do I feel any relief using it? Wouldn't say it makes any different effect to Listerine.

But it is so good I d just drink it not just use to rinse. Also applied ak bit to my nose but that's obviously not aimed for one's nose.

The other observation here is my very popular flavour concentrate to vape at the very first days was - Aloe vera by Big Mouth producer. I was adding that by drops into any diy, even the tobacco ones. Was so enthousiastic that went to order a 30ml concentrate just in order not to be left without it. After a month it wasn't that good anymore. Also could barely find any diy recipe as people prefer inw cactus and similar. The whole new 30ml concentrate is in the drawer, unopen.

Do you think vaping it may help?

Well, glad you found something you like, even if it doesn't help. The Natural Dentist stuff wasn't a cure for me either, but at least temporarily made my mouth feel better. The only thing that helped me was going all vg. But even that didn't totally fix it. Even all VG, if I overdo it, my mouth doesn't feel so great. Although I'm realizing now, it doesn't affect me as much as it used to. Now when I overdo it, it's more about losing sense of taste, and throat clearing - not so much the burned feeling any more.

I have no idea if vaping the aloe vera juice would help. It seems like they'd just be extracting the portion of aloe responsible for the flavor, which may not contain the soothing properties. But that's just a guess. And if it has PG, it might make you worse.

Wish I could help more - good luck!

For me, @Amerglass, it's about finding the best balance between PG and VG. Too much VG clogs me up so much that I feel like I'm choking; too much PG gives me the burned sensation (which, according to that article to which you linked, may be an allergic reaction, although I'm inclined to think my palate and tongue are just a tad hypersensitive).

Regarding your aloe vera mouth rinse, maybe it will help more noticeably over time. Perhaps some irritation needs to subside or healing needs to take place.

So, to report shortly as promised: I've tried thing discussed on this forum. One of them the Aloe vera mouth water. It helps, maybe 1-2% if I need to put in a number. The snus has not been helpful, it is just not for me. Even the lowest nic content burns my under lip area almost instantly. Tried 2 x and spitted out after 30 secs.
The H2O thing, got my Dead rabbit RDA for that purpose. Needed to learn the hard way RDA-s are only made for thick juices, not 70VG 15PG 15H2O. Spitting back like hell I almost got burnt.... Besides an RDA is not for me, can't take it with me around as spilleage makes a mess...

But, I did have results impoving my condition by:
1) drinking much more water, I'd say a gallon per day.... which drives me to the toillet every hour or so; still it does help a great deal
2) only the salted nic is for my use, the straight one causes itching
3) using higher or max VG

That's my experience, I did come to a level being able to vape through 10 ml of e-juice per day. However it causes the flavours of e-juice to be less and less noticeable thru the day. In the morning my vape is perfect. In the evening I can hardly sense how it tastes.
So, there is some improvement I am glad to see. However can't stop the dual use. The smokes are still the 1st choice in the morning around the coffee. Because my mouth is dry like the pepper and a smoke or two seems to help. After it I can go vaping.

Thanks to everyone that have been helpful with your suggestions and advices.

Still am decided to put the stinkies aside but need to collect the strength and will...
