Hey folks! I'm new here (obviously), but I've been lurking for a couple of weeks now. Wanted to introduce myself, and also to get some opinions if y'all don't mind.

I bought my first e-cig a few weeks ago. I wanted to start with something simple and low-maintenance, so I went with Eversmoke. It's definitely doing the job (down to 3 analogs a day), and I really like the flavors and the vapor quality, but I'm also seeing how many more options are out there for me if I'm willing to delve into the more advanced models. Except now I'm nervous. I spent over $100 getting set up with Eversmoke and am already wanting to buy something else, so it's important that I make, if not the perfect choice this time, something I'll be happy with for at least a month

Right now my number one choice is the Volt. I've heard great things about the customer service at Smokeless Image and like the idea of clearomizers.

Is the Volt a good choice for a newbie, though? And if so, does anyone know if the clearomizers look completely ridiculous on the standard battery? Wanted to get a starter kit this time and wait to invest in the X2 battery.

I wouldn't worry so much about what a battery/juice delivery option look like, but rather what will better meet your needs and help get off and stay off cigarettes. Think about what you really want - longer duration battery, more juice capacity, a different taste, more vapor, etc. Then the fine folks here can offer suggestions to get what is important to you.

Welcome to ECF, Turtlechelle. If you are looking for a cig look-alike, The Volt will ,9 times out of 10, be the given recommendation around here. If you aren't too worried about size, there are quite a few more options for you to ponder about..As far as clearomizers on there, if you like 'em and they get the job done, who cares? Some of the setups out there can look quite ridiculous, honestly, but to us vapers it's the norm.

The Volt seems to be the number 1 choice among cigarette size units. Is it really important to you to have a cigarette size unit? A lot of people think so initially, but quickly change their minds. If not, the X2 is a better unit that would keep you satisfied longer.

I heard that Smokeless Image is having a big sale tomorrow (Saturday), so whatever you buy (if you buy from them), buy it tomorrow online. There's a coupon code floating around here somewhere.

The X2 is in the same size category as other excellent PVs such as the KGO. A KGO kit with 2 batteries, cartos, drip tip and some juice can be purchased for $50 - $60 depending on what you buy. The X2 at regular prices would probably be more than that, but it may be less than that with the big sale.

Check out this video. It goes over all the volt products, including the clearo. It is geared towards new vapers

Hi Turtle.
Welcome to ECF.
I like things simple.
Here's what I use:
Kgo 1100 mah kit
Boge LR 2.0 cartomizers.
Gooood juice
Battery lasts all day & no leaking juice with the cartos. Simple setup.
There is such a learning curve with this vaping stuff that I would encourage you to also keep it as simple as possible in the beginning so that you don't get frustrated & possibly give up on the whole vaping idea.
My cost: about $50-60.
Good luck & keep coming back.

Ditto...except I have already ordered quite a bit more than that. The kgo or volt is a fantastic intro to vaping.

Serious though, man - like $100+ for the setup and it seems like no one is satisfied and needs to keep buying more and more!
How is this going to be cheaper than cigs!?

I am two weeks in, an close to $200. If i got two more weeks i break even. I have enough supplies for six to eight weeks past that. That is where ot gets cheaper.

Cant believe nobody has mentioned the Ego Twist to you Turtlechelle , even the 650mAh Twist , this would be far superior to a volt and will run anything you put on it, and you can dial in the voltage to hit that max performance spot on any Carto/Atty you put on it, you might want to take a look at these newer Ego Twist units you cant go wrong with these at all, and there cheap around $25ea grab 2 for $50 and your set. You will also be able to run the newer type tank cartos on them too.

That was funny Pappy, didnt mean to even do that, and corrected it but still funny. As for those Twist I got 4 of the 1000mAh Twist and love thee Batts, heck where else can ya get a VV Batt for $25 bucks or so and in an Ego form factor to boot. Turtlechelle take a look into these, the 650mAh i a bot fatter then a volt but will last you way longer on a charge way longer, and having that VV is the ultimate in a single small Batt like this to dial in that max performance vape no matter what you put on top of it.

Hi - I am a newbie myself and ended up spending more money than I wanted to on various ecigs that are sub-par for me now. I was recommended the Cigeasy Elite 800 and I really love it. THE ELITE 808 I think it was a good deal at $50. The battery lasts much longer than my V2 510 and I really like vaping from the drip tip as opposed to a round filter like end. I have just ordered Phoenix Bottom Coils GotVapes PHOENiX™ Bottom Coil XL 1.5ml Cartomizer 2.4-2.6ohms [gv-PHOENIX-XL-2.4-510] - $11.95 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more and got a delicious and perfect hit juice from Mountain Oak vapors and I finally feel like I will be set!

OK, I am still thinking on this, and I really appreciate all of the help and advice. Of course, I've come up with more questions as I go through the decision-making process :)

I think sticking with Smokeless Image because of the sale is probably going to be my best bet, but I am reconsidering whether to get the standard volt or the X2 batteries. In the end performance is going to matter a lot more than appearance when it comes to whether I will stick with it or not. So, is the message I am getting here that the X2 will give me a significant boost in the thickness of the vapor? One of the biggest issues I'm having with my current e-cig is that there's inconsistency in the vapor thickness between some of the different cartridge flavors, and if a larger, more powerful battery is going to make the vapor more consistent overall, then that's probably the way I want to go.

But on the flipside, I kind of always figured I'd stick with the cigarette-sized e-cigs because I'm a fairly small person. Small mouth, short fingers, etc., and I'm worried that if I go with something on the larger side it will be uncomfortable for me to use.

Also, the standard volt was an easy choice because it comes in a starter kit, whereas if I buy the X2 I have to get the parts separately, which opens me up for confusion. I know I want two batteries so I don't have to worry about not be able to vape while I'm charging. So if I were to buy 2 X2 batteries, 2 clearomizers and 2 bottles of e-liquid would that cover my needs and get me off to a good start? The X2 battery page says it comes with a "Mini USB charging / passthrough cable," so will that be a decent charging method?
