Anyway, 36 year Camel smoker (last year started making myown with Drum tobacco)...Cut way down!...but it eventually go back up....I'm done with this...I must.

Must haves: Throat Hit & tobacco fooling flavor.........I've (well you guys did) Narrowed it down to the 2 Mini or bigger.
Some said I wouldn't be happy with a mini however the VOLT (by Smokless Image) has blown away the most experienced and the reviews are awsome...They almost can't believe the vapor & throat hit from this thing!...PS: Smokless Image is now making an EGO Batt and I believe (808 thread) and some tank type clearomizers now... VOLT Cartriges can be refilled, so a bigger batt is quite dooable in the near future,...I know I'll probably want the longevity.

I know first of all (might miss the real thing if not closely replicating an anolog),...for now. (why I was considering the VOLT)...I know me: If this thing didn't get the reviews it did, I'd be going KGO / EGO for sure.

(Still low $ / Unemployed / less than $400 to name right now)...I know all start around $45 either way (except the V.V. Twist EGO) so, no biggee really..........Still wondering if I'll MISS THE REAL FEEL for starters.
BOTTOM LINE (I see upgrading is quite "universal" now)

YOU GUYS THINK I SHOULD GO MINI FOR NOW?...Just so I'm not "shocked" into the abrupt switch / obbession / addiction?

I was a PAD smoker and the mini or cigarette sized ecig is just not sufficient to keep me off cigarettes. The Ego was the first PV I had and then the KGO and I have to say the KGO was far superior. I used LR cartos ar atties and never touched another cigarette since. I now have moved on to bigger mods but the Kgo is what really helped me get away from analogs. I also like that the Kgo is cheaper and has a higher voltage. Steer clear of the mini. I think you will just end up needed to buy a Kgo down the road so just save your money and just start with it in the first place.

I have the KGO and the Volt, and here's my opinion, for what it's worth:
Benefit to the Volt is that you can get a mini for the size of a regular cig. I keep mine in my back pocket for those "stealth" situations and for driving. You can also get the X2 battery for those times when you don't care about being sneaky. As you mentioned, they have the tank type clearomizers, which I like. The cartos are refillable. They have quite a few flavors of cartos, including (I believe) a "smooth" sampler which is various tobaccos. I've tried two so far. I didn't like one, but I liked another. The downside? I thought the flavors were a little on the weak side, but as mentioned, they are refillable, so when I run one out I fill it with a stronger taste juice.
Benefit to the KGO is that you can get atomizers to try out juices without filling a carto. It's also 510 threaded, which means you can also upgrade to an EGO twist battery if you want to try variable voltage. There are also rebuildable clearomizers, so you can change just the part that's "broken". Downside is that in the way of size, it's more like having a cigar than a cigarette. (You also have to learn to deal with manual as opposed to automatic batteries, but you quickly get used to that.
Hope this helps!

The Envy Ego Tank is a great start. Contains 2 of everything and nice case and filled cartridges (choices), 2 chargers, etc. Has green led light. I got the premium kit with coupon for under $40 with coupon code. Batteries and attys warranteed a full year to continue working- unheard of but true. Site is here: Electronic Cigarettes | E-Cigs | Smokeless Cigarettes
Google Envy Ego T for coupons I think I got 20% off! I think the code was something like "Envyecig" Only thing I don't like about Ego is that all parts are disposable- nothing permanent. Like a disposable Bic vs. Dunhill lighter. Also when you need batteries they are $15 vs most others $10.

Between the Kgo and the eGo, the Kgo is definitely the better option. The eGo has the smallest voltage battery on the market at only 3.4 volts. Why pay the same or more for less, when you can get a Kgo that is 3.7 volts and comes standard with a 1000+ mAh battery unlike the standard 650 mAh battery of the eGo.

If you want to try variable vaping but are not ready to move up to the better models in this class, then I would look at the Gripper over the Twist. The problem with the Twist is it only has a 2.5 amp switch which limits what you can use on it. If it doesn't like the carto or atty you are using, it drops the voltage down to around 3.3 volts or just doesn't work at all.

The Gripper has a 4 amp switch and thus does not have this limitation.

Don't even consider the ego. It's only 3.3-3.4v and you won't be happy.

Consider either the Smokeless image volt or the kgo. Both have 3.7v. The difference is size. If you think you can handle something bigger, get the kgo or smokeless image X2, if you what something the size of a cigarette, get a volt. You can get a two battery volt kit for $45 and there is a 15%off coupon. Then once you get your kit, you can post a pic if yourself on their subforum for a free battery, bottle of juice or pack of cartos.

Heres a video that shows both

Before I started with VV like the twist I used Egos and kGos. The kGo is MUCH BETTER, and cheaper too. I still have kGo's in the car and laptop bag etc. Always reliable and good to have around. Also I broke 2 EGOs each when dropped, buttons broke. Kgo has a soft button that won't break. My 2 cents...

Greetings Newbie
Bullette the Kgo fan here.
I tried those cig lookalike types. Worked about a week & I was climbing the walls. Needed more oomph.
Here's what really got me to vaping full time:
Kgo 1100 mah @ 3.7 volts.
Then for a real good throat hit similar to an analog I discovered:
Smoke tech 1.7 ohm cartomizers.
The combination of the voltage from the Kgo & the lower resistance of that cartomizer gave me SATISFACTION! YES!!
Yesterday I forgot to smoke.
Good luck
Keep coming back.

Also some notes for Mr or Ms Newbie:
If you get a Volt, the connection (the 808 threading of the connection) is different from Ego & Kgo & just about everything else out there. The 510 connection of the Kgo is a standard connection so you can use all sorts of different attie's & cartos in the future. Makes life simple.
