Hello, I am about 6 weeks in to vaping and I love it! I quit analogs cold turkey when I got my kit and haven't looked back, nor have I had the want to. Anyway, I have found my new fix! I started with a kit from V2. I have actually been pretty satisfied. Like most at first size and all that mattered. However, after purchasing a few more XL bats from them, added drip tips and such, I feel I am ready to move up to a more legit PV. I am however a bit confused on rather to go the ego route, or jump to a mod, or even a VV mod! I do like the idea of different voltages. However, there are so many out there with so many prices. I am on a budget like most, maybe even more so. Obviously I am looking for something that is durable and provides great vapor and good taste! Thanks. -Cru

Top 3 "budget" choices for a "legit" PV.

e-Power. Replaceable batteries for longer term economy. Starter kit about $45-50 Hoosierecigsupply.com and Sweet-Vapes.com are 2 good sites that have them. Also Liberty-Flights.com

kGo. Non-replaceable batteries. Lasts 4-6 months each. Kit comes with 2 batteries, charger and extras. Kit about $45-50 Same sites carry them as carry the e-Power

Lavatube. Variable voltage on a budget. Sold under different names. Beginner friendly. Comes with batteries, charger and extras. About $65-75 in most places for a kit. Best prices I've seen are at apolloecigs.com Use "thankyou" for 10% off.

All of these have stellar reviews for newbies or for people who no longer insist on a PV that looks like a cigarette.

Flavor, taste, vapor, etc. have more to do with the cartomizer and juice that you use than the specific PV, as long as you have at least 3.7V of power. Finding the right PV is easy. Finding the right juice for you is the hard part.

I'm with ya Cowboy.. I'm seriously considering the new Apollo VV v-tube in stainless steel. I feel like I want a 'big girl pv' but don't know if I should.
I have a V-tube I got a month before the Stlss steel one came out for pre-order. I'm straining myself to not get one.
Go ahead!! Do it. If you don't like it, I'll buy it back from you. They originally said there would only be 500 or them. Now, it's 1000. Plus, the price was as low as $56 with the 20% Reddit discount just about 10 days ago. Drat!! I should've ordered one then.

Sailorman, good call. I currently use The Vapor Room but am not totally satisfied with throat hit. I like to have some VG for obvious reasons and they have pretty good prices. Any suggestions?

I DIY, so I can't really give you any great recommendations about T.H. other than to say VG mutes it and nicotine produces it. If you are vaping 100% VG and switch to 70% VG, you'll notice more T.H..
You still get a lot of vapor with 70% VG. I'm not very tolerant of PG, so I started with 100% VG. Then I found out I can handle about 30% PG, so I started using 70%VG/30%PG and still get good vapor with more throat hit.

Also: Adding about 5% Pure Grain Alcohol (Everclear) or the highest proof cheap vodka you can find will produce throat hit.

that's right, but if you compare same cartomizer and same juice, provari works better than economics pv

I'd directly jump to a good mod or an ego if I were you. Not a cheap mod.

My favourite and most reliable mods are:

- VV = Infinity Pro (notcigs)
- Silver Bullet

These are 2 solid and affordable mods. I love the simplicity of the SB, it's ability to do 3.7V, 5V, 6V and 7.4V (which I won't try at all). The SB with a carto tank (vaperfexion's cartomator in my case) on it is the best setup for lazy people like me.

The VV is great, but I also found out that I love my VG juices on 3.7V IMR batteries with LR atomizers, while I love my PG juices on 6V with a 3 ohms carto. VV is more likely to have electronic component issues and you should avoid dropping your beer on it, that's why I love mechanical devices, at least have one as a backup device in case of a component failure in your VV !

So, buying a good mod, a carto-tank, (c)a(r)tomizers, drip shields, batteries, this is certainly something that will cost you 200 bucks or much more, but you'll be quiet for a very long time. I wasted so much money in egos before... you can't go wrong with reliable mods like those from notcigs, altsmoke, puresmoker and a bunch of others. Buying a cheap mod is a bad idea, I'd rather go with an ego and LR cartos/atomizers if I didn't have money enough to buy a trustworthy mod (which I did for several months before taking the next step).

For the looks, a mod can be beautiful, but an ego certainly looks better than cheap plastic mods or event that "lavatube" with it's ugly display, but it's only my opinion !
