Hello Rossum et al. :)

So I feel like getting a bit more nic. Just in case. Nude Nicotine armor v1, CNT or Chemnovatic? Any suggestions? NN is ready for storage in argon-sealed glass bottles, CNT and Chmnovatic are not--I'll have to rebottle myself for storage. Does it matter? Any tips? We're talking very long storage here. I'm still going through my 2016 NN stash.

I'm still working through nic I got in 2014, all Nude Armor V1. IMO, it's indistinguishable from new. It's actually less expensive now than it was then, but it's still far from cheap. If I needed more, I would buy it again.

I'm not sure who CNT is.

I've no doubt Chemnovatic makes good nic. The question with it is, how was it handled/stored before you got it.

Can't speak to the Nude Nicotine armor v1. I've never tried it. But both CNT or Chemnovatic are High Quality Nicotine Bases.

I Posted this awhile back...

Just an Update:

I got my Chemnovatic (100mg/ml 100% PG) and for the last Week or so I have been running it Side-by-Side against CNT.

Both are Very Clean Tasting. Almost Tasteless. And Both, at Diluted 9mg/ml Concentration, are Colourless.

There are times when I think the CNT might be an Angel's Breath better. But most of the time I can't tell much of a Difference between the two.

I'm not sure who CNT is.

CONTRAF-NICOTEX-TOBACCO GmbH (CNT) is a worldwide operating company involved in growing, sourcing, developing, processing, extracting and the production of agriculturally derived products – mainly Leaf Tobacco and Nicotine as well as Natural Ingredients. The company is supplying directly, or through its subsidiaries and affiliates the tobacco, pharmaceutical and food & beverage industry.

For over 30 years CNT has been the world‘s largest supplier of highly purified, tobacco derived Nicotine to the pharmaceutical industry. In recent years CNT has also emerged as a significant supplier of pharmaceutical grade Nicotine to the expanding e-Cigarette industry. CNT’s starting material for the Nicotine production derives from the company’s extraction facility in India. The final processing is then done in Switzerland by CNT‘s exclusive contract manufacturer Siegfried AG under full pharmaceutical cGMP.

That is True with Any Nicotine Base.

I forget who said it? It might have even been You (LOL).

But they said that in their opinion, Winter was the Best Time to buy Nicotine Base.

There were a few here who had issues with River Supply's PureNic product about a year and a half ago. It arrived discolored with an odor. I somehow skipped around the puddles because mine arrived about the same time but mine was colorless and odorless. It remains in my bulk inventory. Those who had issues were made whole by RS as far as I know.

Does anyone know or have a guess how long nic retains its potency held in the plastic it comes in - in the freezer?

Plastic? No bueno for long term. :nah: Long term should be in glass and I'm not going to suffix my statement with an "IMHO" because I don't believe there is a valid argument against glass storage even if that plastic is deemed "food safe".

No one can truly answer the potency question as there isn't much data on it. Nic hoarders are just hoping for the best when it really comes down to it.

I personally can't answer that, but I would think it would be OK in plastic for a little while (define "little while' however you want lol). Of course, you can pay more & buy from companies that ship in glass if you got that money then you don't have to worry about it.

That largely depends on what type of plastic. Some types are better than others in stopping O2 absorption. Studies on shelf life of nic in plastic havent really been done since we know plastic is not optimal. Bottom line, if you cant transfer it to glass, then it is all the more important to keep it as cold as possible.

I Don't think there is going to be Any Noticeable Drop in Potency for Nicotine Base stored in Plastic and put in the Freezer.

But I would HIGHLY Recommend that you Transfer your Nicotine Base to Glass Bottles with Poly-Cone Caps.

I agree also what type of plastic is very important if you are seriously thinking about plastic over glass storage... some plastics leech into the contents, some are permeable to both water and oxygen... It would be a serious shame to invest in nic and have it be unvapable yuck when you really need it. It is best to use glass bottles. Honestly this very discussion/topic has been ongoing here on ECF since 2012 or eariler, a quick search here will show you all the pros and cons by those in the know.
Where is @Kurt :)

I knew you had been. :)
I'm not sure if plastic is good for something lol! I mean sea turtles eat plastic because it smells like food, we know plastic absorbs odors. You also have to remember nic base does not freeze solid its more like a thick liquid. Minimally I would hate for my nic base to taste like the fish I put in my freezer. I understand where you coming from though and can sympathize if anything since you have glass it can wait a little bit until you can transfer it before you freeze it.

I think that as long as you make plans to rebottle it within the first year or so and it's kept in a freezer that you won't find any differences. That's been my experience, as I've kept some liters in their original packaging for as much as two years, in the freezer, and found no noticeable difference from fresh.

Keeping it freezing cold will minimize all types of chemical reactions, so that's the key.

When you go to visit her, if her freezer capacity is low and you want to maintain a nic stock there, a small chest freezer for the rebottled nic will make a wonderful gift lol.
