If there is a short, the fuse opens the circuit to prevent the battery from being discharged by the said short. I have it in my GGTS, I don't stack batts and use protected batts, so took it out and put the stock spring in it. I also was having issues with the fuse not making good contact (it is a single) and kept having to stretch it to make good contact. I understand that Imeo recommends doubling the fuse now by using two springs/fuses. They are available at COV. Regardless, I am happier without it.

So to prevent this and not buying the fuse, I should buy some protected 18650's and not use my AW IMR 18650's?

I run double fuses in all 5 of my GGTSs, but my friend B-rad doesn't use them at all -- to each his own maybe!!!

I run double fuses in mine and use AW protected and IMR's. When an atty starts to go, my button starts to warm up. Nice feature. Had that happen a couple times, always was the atty after metering it.

You should be OK with AW IMR. I run those occasionally and protected AW 18650 batts (2900mah).

I have my TS coming and i knew about the fuse I've seen it sold but if it's not to much trouble can someone explain how to run 2 of them or point us that aren't sure to where its explained. I understand its function just not how to use it or how to run doubles of it

Iniside the fuse is spring. Just use two of them. People says it's much better for conductivity.
