I've read a lot about nicotine absorbtion and e-cigs and the comparison to burning tobacco cigarettes, and they all seem to have 1 thing in common: more nicotine is typically absorbed from smoke than vapor.
In my opinion, most of this information comes from before RDAs and sub-ohm vaping and such...
Back then, variable voltage equipment with various toppers could at best reach the point of nicotine absorption from a cigarette.

Nowadays, things have changed...
And I'm sure many vapers can exceed the nicotine absorption of a cigarette depending on what they are using.

I'm just glad that many cloud-chasers are using very low or zero nicotine.
Especially since they tend to do lung inhales and are probably getting a lot more nicotine than the rest of us.

I doesn't matter to me what they are using. It's not the end of the world if they get a little nicotine buzz.

I expect they will cut down if they are feeling nauseous AndriaD.

But that's the very problem we're discussing -- by the time you notice nausea, it's too late, you've already vaped MORE than enough to cause nausea, because of the time lag between vaping and absorption!

Like this:

1) take a vape, inhale or whatever you do;
2) take another vape, as most of us probably do;
3) the first hit is slowly travelling to your brain;
4) take another vape;
5) the first hit is STILL slowly travelling to your brain, and now the 2nd hit is starting to slowly travel to the brain;
6 ) the third hit is starting to slowly travel to the brain, while the first hit might be just now arriving, and the 2nd hit is still en route;
7) take another vape;
8) first hit arrived, 2nd hit might be getting close, 3rd hit still enroute;
9) take another vape;
10) first hit hasn't worn off yet; 2nd hit now arriving, 3rd hit getting close, 4th hit still en route;
11) take another vape;
12) 1st and 2nd hit haven't worn off; 3rd hit now arriving; 4th hit getting close;
13) take another vape;
14) 1st, 2nd, and 3rd hit haven't worn off; 4th hit now arriving; 5th hit starting on its way...

You see? It's possible to vape a LOT in the 5 mins it takes for vaped nicotine to reach the brain!

Approximately a half hour after you start feeling nauseated the feeling starts receding. Fluids help.
Lay down, stop vaping. Learn your limits, we all have different tolerances.

If an activity makes you feel that way, stop doing it. You now know that sampling that many vapes, in whatever time frame you did it in, is going to make you sick. Don't do it again.

Reminder, larger clouds means there is potential for larger nic intake. Learn your body and what it can handle.

When I smoked, I would get that satisfied feeling about 2 minutes into a ciggie, with vaping ( especially when I just wake up) it takes about 10 minutes to get that feeling of satisfaction. But on the otherhand, when I smoked, I was wanting another ciggie within several minutes.. with vaping, it is usually 30-45 minutes before I pick up the PV.
So... 2 things to consider... ciggies give the quick hit but burns out fast and vaping requires time to build up and the dose lasts alot longer
also I have found that a drop of juice on the finger and licked is a quick blast of nic... alot faster than vaping... but watch out for the huccups ;)

I'm curious about this too. A few days ago I was on a plane and after 4 hours into the flight I felt like vaping. Not a craving like with cigarettes, but mostly like I was bored and wanted to play with the gear and inhale some flavour. So I pulled a Nicorette gum and after chewing it a few times I felt sick. Probably too much nic. I remember from my smoking days that a gum was barely enough to tame a craving. BTW I normally vape 8mg nic at 10W.

I only vape about 1ml. I guess if I was vaping 4 or 5 it would be different. I always only smoked about 8 cigs a day. I suppose if I smoked 30 or 40 it would also be different. Some of my most favorite people smoked a whole lot. My brother, who is five years older than me, hasn't stopped smoking since he was 14. He is right on top of it as far as being intelligent although he says he needs 90% oxygen to breath at night now. My mother never smoked a cigarette in her life but she had Alzheimers for her last ten years (she died at 94). I just hope I don't ever need oxygen or help eating etc...

here is the way i see it... and I am not a scientist, so this is just a rationalization.

So smoking, you smoke, get the nicotine, with all the burning plant matter, and crap thats in a cigarette, so while you get a little head rush from a blast of nicotine, some of the nicotine takes longer to get to your blood stream as its in with the tar and other crap that gunks up your black lungs, so some gets through right away, while some doesnt. some is kinda gradual.

We all know that steam rooms are healthy, so breathing steam in to your lungs is not a problem. As you vape, the lungs take less time to process the steam.(As there is no gunk) so the nicotine goes right to your blood stream. this means a faster hit, albeit shorter, getting all the nicotine at once. al though it goes away faster. Chain vaping, Which many do because they like the flavor.... means a lot of nicotine faster, which means more of a hit, but overall less absorbtion.... more absorbtion right away. I think this is why it becomes so easy for people to lower their nic levels. as time goes on, they realize that they are gettign too much at once... etc.

You might do better with nicotine lozenges.

If you get too much nic, just park it up the side of your gums with the tip of your tongue - if you need more nic, push it around with your tongue so it dissolves quicker.
