Thanks casey. I think I made mention of this elsewhere as well. My bad - I was apparently also tricked by the change in terminology on their details page. It went from mentioning RTS specifically to "made right here in the USA by a well known and well respected nic vendor"...I know of only RTS that makes this assertion, hence my assumption. Perhaps RTS is then asserting there is another vendor making nic right here in the USA, I dunno).

It was discussed earlier earlier in the thread about the source of one of High Desert's nic suppliers being RTS.

From RTS's latest rant this no longer seems to be the case. Assuming it meant High Desert and not some other supplier named highdessert I am not aware of.

No bad on your part wolcen, I was under the same impression as you until today, when I read that statement on the RTS thread. Just thought I would update this thread since it had been discussed earlier.

Lots of vendors use the 'made in USA statement' but all that may mean is that they mixed it up in the end users bottle in the US. I don't know of any other vendor that claims to actually have their nic extracted in the US.

My XTR (xtremevaping) nic liquid arrived yesterday morning and all I can say is it is PERFECT in every way! I had pre-mixed my favorite DIY recipe with VG/PG and flavorings 2 days ahead of time, so when the package arrived I added the XTR nic, gave it a hot bath, let it cool down, waited 4 hrs and started vaping it. OMG .. it is such a huge change from my previous nic from both MFS, ECX and others.

And today, after 24 hrs of steeping it is even better! Works fantastic in my carto tank. The extra cost of the XTR nic is worth every penny, wish I had tried it a year ago! Just finished ordering a much bigger bottle of it, it's the only nic I'm going to use from now on!

This pic isn't the best but I thought I would load it up just for some comparison. This is some 13 month old XTR. My high tech storage consisted of a cardboard box on top of the fridge down here in the Man cave.

Great stuff stash and Easy

If you ever encounter a rainy day maybe you can run some unflavored comparisons and give people something to chew on besides my whinnying and naying ;) I'm especially interested in how ECX and XTR compare to your palate, as I said I find it har to tease them apart but I think there is some minor difference going on.

Clarity of Flavor, Vaped, not drank :

Across the board I honestly don’t taste much, perhaps ‘alkaline’ but honestly what does that taste like anyway? I don’t know. This is one of those places where smell and taste really bleed in to each other and its very difficult for me to tease them apart. TH and nose burn is probably muddying the waters here as well. Tasting what I'm smelling and smelling what I taste?

MFS and WLR are the closest to having a bona fide taste. Alkaline is all I can really call it. Or nic. Again this will be bothersome so some, and bothersome for certain juices. But sometimes, I really like it wrt the MFS (I haven’t had the WLR long enough to say, but I’m guessing I will in much the same way). When I’m craving an analog, the smack in the face that MFS delivers is the cure, and this flavor is a part of it.

VZ, ECX, XTR, and WLI are essentially without flavor, with subtle differences. Its very difficult to tease apart.

My nose is likely throwing up some interference here, but the rotten nut smell of the RTS has become something I feel as if I can taste, and so unfortunately I cannot say the taste is neutral as above. There is less “taste” than MFS, by far, but I find it much more bothersome, whatever it is.

(For reasons that I do NOT attribute to actual flavor, but more the degree of “pepper” and TH (see below), the XTR, WLI and ECX seem to be the most pure, the VG/PG ‘notes’ are more apparent with these )

Perhaps this is where the uncontrolled variable of PG and VG is playing a role. The differences are very slight, and probably meaningless under normal vaping conditions, but they are there.

Clarity of Flavor, Vaped: XTR = VZ = WLI = ECX > WLR > RTS ~ MFS

fixed, thank you Cool!!!

Cyrus Vap has done a great job here. Mature that I am, I had a little trouble keeping all the relationships in my head. I made a table to help me understand them. I added a cost factor to the table. Here's a link that will open the table in another tab or browser window.

That's a well-done and very useful chart. From one old man to another---Thanks!

Bill - I was thinking of an Hyperbolic Tree GUI type thingy for RY4s...linked by type and similarities. I can't seem to come up with the software/interface to create such. MS had an experimental program several years ago that might have done the job. I've lost track of it. I might look around in the MS Developer realm for possible remnants of it.

Been doing loads of unflavored and unflavored + menthol these days, its about 90% of my vaping

I've noticed that in that scenario, MFS and WLR do exceptionally well. The pepper and bite that they give is flavorful in its own way. Some PGA and menthol really bring things to life, and a dab of vinegar knocks down the alkalinity.

What are you vaping with? I tried my only clearo last year and it was a Major taste difference than my usual Bogelr's.

I vape unflavored exclusively, if I hadn't mentioned that b4. I was going to try those new Stallion hybrids at GV to improve the taste, but they put a lot more filler in than expected.
