Excellent answer.
I may quote you on that in the future.

There are a lot of people on this forum who have a vested interest in promoting the sale of products that go with vaping. They get overly offended the minute a question is raised on this vile habit. You may or may not be one of them. I personally enjoy vaping but try to reduce the dependence by staying away from those liquids that I love. I go with something that is so so, and it helps control the amount. To each his own, but you shouldn't be offended that I raised a question off subject. My question transcends the subject.:2cool:

I have to say, going off topic in a thread about comparing unflavored DIY liquid nicotine to tell everyone they should get off nicotine because it's addictive probably wasn't approached with a lot of deep thought.

Myk, a person with an open mind does not get offended when someone raises a related question, off subject as it might be.

I started at 18mg premixed stuff from a vendor, and am down to 12mg on occasion for the tough times, and 6mg most others. At night, I vape a zero nic because I can, and I don't mind. I notice a difference, sure... but its keeping me from doing something else to get my nic fix, and I'd rather do this, than make more payments into the suicide installment plan.

I also drink coffee. I enjoy that too. Until a DOCTOR tells me to get off the caffeine and Nic, I'm fine with how things are for me.

If you want to get off this addictive substance, then good for you, and I wish you luck. Heck, I wish you all the luck in the world, if that's YOUR goal.

Me, I'm fine. I don't really care for people telling me what's best for me though, so do your thing, and I'll do mine.
It was far from my intention to tell anyone what to do. Heck, someone needs to tell ME what to do in order to reduce the habit. And I wouldn't mind at all if they did. But then again, I try to keep an open mind as opposed to those who don't.

On the scale of substances to which the human brain habituates dependently, I'm sure that nicotine ranks right up there with the most addictive substances we know. On the scale of negative repercussions and dire consequences, however, I believe that nicotine comes in near the bottom of that list. At the levels of most vapers' daily intake, nicotine isn't likely to kill us (now or in 20 years) or be a cause of or doorway leading to other fatal diseases (heart attack, cancer, stroke, diabetes, etc.), and it doesn't alter our behavior in sociopathic ways, as a substance addiction to alcohol can.

I smoked cigarettes for 42 years, and that was about as extreme and awful a love-hate marriage as I can imagine. My passion for any other human being paled compared to my deeply addictive involvement with cigarettes. Going even one day without a cigarette felt like death row. The list of negative repercussions (either actual or potential) was as long as my arm and getting longer each year.

In the three years since I started vaping and quit smoking, all that has changed. No doubt I'm a nicotine addict, but it's a relatively addiction. Yes, I vape most of the day and enjoy it immensely, but I can not vape for a day or two and not experience any significant withdrawal symptoms. I'm just not quite as happy as when I'm vaping. That's a compromise I can live with. So, I'm afraid I'm an unrepentant nicotine addict. Unless something unforeseen and unexpected happens to sound an alarm, I intend to keep using nicotine at my current levels.

Exchaner, if you wish to reduce your dependence, I'll support your efforts, and if you "get off the sauce," so to speak, I'll applaud you for achieving your intention. But what you feel you should do is not what something I feel any need to do. I don't know, maybe my stance is incorrect or unhealthy or immature. Perhaps I should want to get off nicotine. Lots of folks say so. But I don't want to. And I'm pretty confident that I'm not alone in this. Just sayin'.

Billherbst, I really enjoyed reading your response. Perhaps I should not have used the word "should" , makes me sound like a parent... The point is however, that when I vape a liquid that I love, I vape twice as much as any ordinary one. That was the intended message. As for nicotine not being related to heart disease etc, I am not so sure, but I am not a doctor...

And on that note...

an ECF user has sent me two bottles of 100mg labeled "a" and "b" respectively. One is MFS, the other is ...err I can't remember, I have to check my PM. At this point I don't know which is which. After I set up two 'equivalent' systems to drip on this weekend I'm going to go bat shyte and report back. All I can say thus far as one bottle is far more oxidized than the other.

Stay tuned...

EDIT: myk I'm fascinated, for medical reasons. If you're will to share off the record please pm me.

Its already been ruined by my optic nerve and horse brain I'm afraid, but I'll do my best...

So after reading the PM, one nic is MFS (4/2013) and the other is nude nicotine (7/2013). Both stored in glass at room temp until arriving at my door. In principle neither should should share any chemical genes with each other or anything in my freezer, as my MFS nic dates back to shortly after Hoosier taught me to not DIY like an idiot :) (read: A long time ago :) )

Cyrus was a tough student...what with the hooves and the bifurcated vision...ya' gotta' admire a mixer that overcomes such adversity to become the resident expert of the subtleties of unflavored vaping.

So without reading 99 pages of posts, are the VZ and ECX still the best bases?

As the 99 pages of posts state, it is subjective and depends on what you want (completely unflavored or with its own "bouquet"). For unflavored vaping, vintage Box Elder is still my tops. For making flavored juices NicVape wins for me (completely unflavored nic).

Hey Kurt, Have ya tried Nude Nic yet? It's really good for flavorings. Yeah, that Nic Vape is great stuff.

Not yet, Jimi. Not sure where I would fit it in the freezer at this point! :D I am also trying to patronize AEMSA vendors. Being one of the SMEs, I think it is very important right now.

I just got my border in to start diy. I took my 120 mil of 100mg base and cut it in half with VG. Everything bought from rts.

So should I store the bottle I'm not using in the freezer? I currently have 120mil in a glass bottle and 120 mil in the bottle it came in bow at a 50mg base.

Also what is the point of the freezer?
