Nicotine Question

I am going to start making my own liquid, I mean I am going to try and make my own liquid, or attempt to whatever you want to call it.

I am confused on the Nicotine levels.
If I want to make liquid that has lets say 12mg of nicotine. and I bought a bottle of 100mg pure nicotine. Would I go by how many drops I put in it for 12mg of nic, or would I need to get different levels of Pure Nicotine??

If that is the case, and I can use 100mg of nic and use it for 8mg-36mg levels of liquid why do they sell 24mg levels of pure nicotine?

1 ml of 100mg nic with 10ml of PG or VG would give you a mix that is about 10 mg/ml.

To be honest, when I DIY I guestimate. IE, 2 parts VG to 1 part 100mg nic juice= @33mg. 3parts VG to one nic=25mg etc. Then when I have a good base, I add flavoring to it to suit my tastes(water if necessary to thin it).
