As Vapors, we are enjoying and praising our ecigs that helped us abandon analogs. We feel healthier as a result of stopping analogs. We have read and debated about nicotine use. We have participated in snail mail, phone, and email campaigns to protest and hopefully educate those trying to eliminate our right to use ecigs.

In CT, Doctor Oncken has been funded to study NicVax (Nicotine Vaccine) by Nabi. I spoke briefly with Doctor Cheryl Oncken about doing a study with ecigs. She is aware of ecigs and Dr. Esienberg's(?sp) VA study on ecigs. She stated she would do the study in CT but studies require funding. End of conversation. After reading an article about her study and NicVax I decided to start this poll. Here is the article: Kicking the Habit « UConn Today

sadly i wouldnt and i got 2 reason why.
1. i enjoy vaping smoking what ever its not about the nicotine for me but the enjoyment of the act. i have smoke herbal mixtures like damania and skullcap and even dried hops which are quite tasty. i enjoy smoking i just switched to vaping because its way healthier or at least feels so.
2. nothing is even safe effective and has no side effects. everything has a side effect and honestly what would be the point of getting the nicvax if so many people claim its the hand to mouth action that draws them back in. i mean blocking the receptors in the brain from uptaking any chemical is dangerous becuase of the fact the chemicals work in the brain because they mimick chemicals already in the body so they can bond and enter the same channels.

From the looks of it, this stuff just binds to nicotine in the blood so it can't attach to the receptors in the brain.

...and this is different from going "cold turkey" in what way? I mean, apart from the fact that you'll probably smoke MORE, not less, trying to get that nic fix? It does nothing to curb the cravings or break the addiction; it just interrupts delivery.

Nope. I enjoy my nicotine, my addiction to it causes me no difficulties (now, thanks to vaping), and I have seen no medical evidence that nicotine is so harmful that I should quit it for health reasons.

Also, this:

I would not. I use 0nic alot but my preference is 6mg it seems to keep my caffeine consumption to a minimum, is there a nocaff shot? I like my nic but not all the time. I like the hand to mouth the best because I have always chewed on my fingers and nails and vaping/smoking keeps me from doing that so much. I also like to vape when I am hanging out. I am also a very impatient person since I quit smoking and vaping helps me to pass the time and not be so flitty even when I use the 0nic. Plus I really hate needles and doctors and dentists and hospitals and immunizations and have never had a flu shot and my kids have never had their immunizations so no Shots for me.

This. Now if this was a drug that made me no longer care about nicotine at all (and didn't potentially turn me into a psycho like Chantix), then I would be all about it. I do really enjoy vaping, but I also wouldn't mind just being free of this addiction once and for all.

I intend to continue my nicotine use, as I believe it helps me far more than it harms me.
And because my blood pressure is low, and my heart is healthy, I actually don't think it harms me at all.

Also, I need the hand-to-mouth thing for times when I'm trying to relax, or sit around and think things through.
And I also need the ritual of taking breaks from the world in small 10 minute increments as needed.

So my answer is definitely no.

That was my thought too. All that vaccine would do is give you the effect of nicotine withdrawal while you used nicotine. I don't see the point. I could vape 0mg if I didn't want any nicotine.
