juice with no nicotine has no throat hit. But there are some TH additives you can use (Flavourart makes QHit, vapornice has something else, Totally Wicked has a strong capsacin i.e. pepper juice). Then there are some flavors that add some thriat sensation - mint, menthol, cinnamon, ginger, pepper (FreedomSmokeUSA has pepper eliquid), other spices, some liquor flavors.

But since they don't work, why offer it as an alternative to "good" throat hit?

...........Throat hit is important for me to get a satisfactory puff. Although my experience limited to 18mg and 12mg nic strength trials, i found that several other factors played role in getting a good TH. The type of carto/atty, battery voltage, coil resistance, cleanliness of coil, how well the wick is saturated with ejuice, etc, have all affected the strength of TH for me. ...............

Type of carto/atty, such as dual coil and how well they work (new or old and gunked up), along with better batteries, are all part of the second ingredient to good throat hit, which is warmth of the vapor.

i hear you... it's everything associated with smoking that has become an unconscious part of me too.. I get that there is somewhat of a long road ahead of me in terms of really changing my habits, but for the first time i'm hopeful and enthusiastic about reducing the health risks associated with smoking, as well as not polluting my home (for the benefit of others)! Thanks again!

Previously I had tried many smoking cessation therapies and none worked for me. I was/ am AMAZED at how much easier it was to walk away from analogs once I began vaping. It was almost painless and as Vets had previously warned me the first 10-14 days would be a little bit painful as there were other drugs in analogs besides nicotine that my body had grown accustomed to. My first 2 weeks I used 36 mg Nic. I then switched to 30 mg. In 2-3 weeks I plan to switch to 24 mg. As you can see I will have cut my Nic intake down to 2/3 of the original amount- Simply amazing IMHO. What I really like about vaping is the fact that I am in control of the amount of Nic I ingest. No other cessation programs offers me this choice.
Cheers, Vapoor.

New member here - I've been vaping since april. I went from nearly two packs of Marlb Lights a day straight to an ePower at 18mg with LR cartos. The last analog I had was the morning my package arrived from Madvapes. I'll never go back.
One thing I'll add; when the voltage goes up, Nic level can go down. When I went from 3.7v (w/LR cartos) to 7.4v (w/ 5ohm cartos) the 12mg juice I had grown used to was way too potent. I find ~6mg juice feels about perfect at higher voltage. BTW, once you try a 5v+ mod, you'll never go back.
Good luck and happy vaping!

I would have to say in my experience, essential. Especially in the beginning.

From what many have said, there's far more to a cigarette addiction than just nicotine. There are supposedly compounds added that increase the addictive nature of nicotine. Contrast that to the nicotine in an e-cig. Just plain ol' nicotine. Many people have found that cutting back once they are firmly switched is far easier than they ever expected. And quite a few cut all the way back to zero.

As far as using a placebo effect to break a long standing, chemically enhanced addiction - well, sounds like a recipe for failure to me.

MIchael is so right on this. I'm cutting back without a problem and by the end of the year will be on 0mg. I'll just let it ride from there since I believe my addiction is more physical then emotional. I've had absolutely no problem cutting down from 24 to 18 to 11 to 6mg. Go for it.

I have a neighbor at the cottage that has serious COPD. Her Dr gave her some menthol tasting plastic cigs. She "smokes" them in no smoking ares like crazy but as soon as possible she's smoking her analogs. She knows I vape and while her hubby is impressed and asked me many questions she's not. Sadly too close minded I guess. She even offered me an analog last weekend. Why would she do that

I once used that "menthol tasting plastic cig". It was much better with an analog every other hit!

She's probably trying to be nice.

She probably needs the 'nic fix' and doesn't know a better way to get it. (If she's 'older', she probably 'poo poos' the idea of ecigs - much like I did the first several years after I heard about them.)

Sharing the guilt lessens the fear of her condition.

If you have an extra PV with a disposable tip, might be a good idea to return the favor and offer her 'a vape'? :2c:

Well if I ran into someone who had quit anaologs I would not offer them one.

She's bitter and angry. Also other health issues of her own doing.

I always carry some driptips in a bottle of alcohol just in case. I did offer her but she turned me down. So far I've converted 5 friends :D
I have a funny feeling her hubby will be approaching me again.
