Hi, I'm new to this whole vaping thing and nicotine use altogether, and I could really use some advice.

Basically I have an obsession with smoking for reasons, and thus vaping as well. That's just the way I am. Yet smoking is not an option; an oath I'd gladly make in blood. Although I have tried smoking many times in the past year, I have done so with the iron will that I will never become a smoker. And I won't, ever. But vaping is new and different. I'm dead set on ordering a vaporizer this Friday to quell this obsession and completely remove cigarettes from that secret compartment in my dresser drawer. The part that I'm having trouble with is deciding whether I should get zero nicotine e-juice or 12mg for that extra high.

My experience so far with cigarettes makes me feel amazing, so I'm leaning towards nicotine. Yet I'm scared of permanent addiction. But all the horror stories I hear come from smokers, and I am not a smoker. Cigarette addiction and nicotine addiction are two different things.

Is there anyone who has gone from non-smoking straight to vaping? I wanna know what this is like before I chance it. I don't mind having cravings as I already do with caffeine and food, but I don't want it to be the end of the world if I can't vape. I'll go with the zero-nic if I have to, but it seems mostly pointless to me.

Any insight on this? Thanks

Cigarette addiction and nicotine addiction are two different things.

That depends. I smoked for the Nicotine and Vape for the Nicotine. In fact, I can go without either if I have a Nicotine patch stuck on my skin.

So, does getting addicted to Nicotine makes sense to you? It makes no sense at all to me.

(sorry, but why even start?)

Go Zero... :)

I was thinking I'll get both, just in case. Though, if you don't mind me asking, what is very enjoyable about it? It looks fun for sure but what's the incentive without any nicotine?

I think this is a good plan. Nicotine provides the throat hit that simulates the inhaled feel of smoking. That may or may not be important to you. If you can do without the nicotine, I would. But if not, I also would not be worried about it, especially if it dissuades you from smoking.

-Said almost every smoker ever

Your a grown person(I hope) do what you want to do. This is a silly question, you already know the answer. Stay away from it.

That said you sound kinda like me when I was 14. Really liked nicotine buzz, just wanted that nic buzz.

That nicotine buzz will fade pretty quickly and all your going to be left with is nagging desire to not be fiending for nic, its not really that fun after that.

Although I think im way more addicted to blowing big clouds than nicotine at this point

Well I've already made the leap straight to ecigs so you know I'm not lying when I say I'll never be a smoker. It would destroy my life.

Yes I am a grown person. No I don't already know the answer. And yes I know the buzz diminishes as with all drugs especially when not used in moderation.

IMO, the nicotine goes from slight buzz to a need in a short period of time, thats the definition of dependency. I would stay the heck away from nicotine.

Some would say having cigarettes in a secret compartment in your dresser not only makes you a smoker, but a closet smoker :)

You are already hooked on something. You wouldn't be here asking for advice if you didn't want the nic.

Its actually alot worse switching from cigs to vapor due to all the other crap in the smokes. Anyone that tells you its not habit forming is just blowing smoke (har har!) I've been vaping somewhere in the neighborhood of 4-5 years and im still hooked on nic. Could I quit if I wanted? .. Maybe.. Kinda like you I like nicotine and I dont really want to quit. But if I could go back and never start I would.

as long as you understand that what your doing is worse than doing nothing whether you get 0 nic or 24 mg nic, then thats fine. My recommendation? Your already going to do it so grab some 6 or 12mg and 0mg in a 50/50 and grab a cheap vv/vw ecig. Toss those cigs out of the drawer before you get so caught up in the other crap in there that you have to put real effort into switching to ecigs. Try to stick on the 0 as long as you can. You need to be honest with yourself though, Is the 0mg gonna be a waste of money? If nothing else I guess you can use it to dilute your other stuff.

Get unflavored 0 mg

Less than 10 cigs in a year doesn't make me a smoker, I don't think =P And that's where I drew the line.

At any rate I'm not hooked at all I just really like drugs maybe  Coffee and Rum are my best friends. Don't worry I'm responsible hehe.

But I think you guys may have convinced me. It's nice to hear it from real people rather than some old fool trying to sell a smoking cessation program online.

Anyway I'm gonna get a VaporFi Pulse. Just cuz I like the design.

And then mango flavor e-juice, and they're having a sale for peppermint flavor so that too. It will at least be a nice way to indulge.

Is that an ego bat with a puff counter?

Theres about a million better options for that price.

Dont waste 120 bucks yet. standby

Starter Kits E Cigarette

The MVP, Itaste VV 3.0, spinner/twist combo, and eleaf istick are all good products
Really if you want an ego style you cant go wrong with a spinner or twist. you will want to pick up some atomizers/tanks with them. I wouldn't be worried about ordering from fasttech. Even if it falls apart it will probaly last longer than 5 packs of smokes ;p

edit: By the way there are probably better priced kits around but those are reasonable for what your getting, mainly linked that particular page because there's 4 examples on one page

Hello and welcome to the ECF family.

My advice, for what it's worth, would be to go 0% nicotine and see how you get on. If that doesn't give you what you want try the lowest nicotine level you can get. Which I think is 6mg although ideally 3%mg would be better.

Please don't jump straight in at 12mg because you may find this will actually make you feel quite ill.

Good luck. :)

istick with a nautilus mini is a good choice, great for new people. you can snag an istick on elev8vape.com right now for less than 30 bucks with the discount.

If I was going to buy a kit for a new vapor for xmas or something.. this would be the combo I would go with
