I had to come here and vent to someone who understands how ...... off I am after what happened today.....so here it is.

I got pulled over today and the cop took my PV/carts/atty/extra batteries saying that he wasn't sure what it was and needed to take it. What pisses me off is that I have nothing now. I need to order something, but not even sure it's worth the hassle. I told him that they should be educated on this stuff instead of just taking things for no good reason. He didn't love that idea so much....

I'm actually really really ...... off, because it took me so long to quit, and I finally did the DAY I started vaping (2 weeks ago), now I'm back to the analogs because of this nonsense. What's even worse is that I got this thing 3 days ago in the mail.

At least I still have my car charger....joke's on him, eh? :(

Yes, print out the working of an ecig. Then print out your state smoking laws if its legal there. Here in NC, ecigs are SPECIFICALLY excluded in the ban so its evedence they should be aware and give ur stuff back. If not, at least call the police chief daily n bug him until it gets returned!!!!!

Only the sqeaky wheel gets the grease, rt? :D

So I guess that's what I'm looking for before I go there. Are eCigs in smoking laws? What smoking laws even exist? There is no "ban" that I know of in Mass, other than no smoking in public places (restaurants/bars/etc...).

Go to the station!!! If they seize "drug paraphernalia", but there is no drug, you get your stuff back. Funny that he took your stuff without citing you for possession of whathaveyou, or suspicion of whatnot...

You do get your stuff back though, legally, but you might have to jump through some hoops. That registers as a 10.0 on the BS scale, thats for damned sure.

i had the same problem once bro, i was walkin through a parking lot and a cop thought the same thing. luckily i didn't get mine taken, but i asked my brother(cop) about what you should do and he said to just go down there and ask for it back. they can't legally take it from you and keep it. its in no way shape or form ILLEGAL drug related. let us now how it goes though cuz i can prolly speak for all of us here and say we all will be curious about the outcome. i would get bring the receipt from the supplier if you still have it as well.

Mass has nothing against PV's in their laws, to my knowledge.

I would go to the station and ask to see whoever is in charge and talk to them about it. Make sure you mention the officers name, the time, and location of where the items were seized. Also bring a couple print outs of what a PV is, if there is a picture of the one you have, all the better.

Was this one that looks like a cigarette? There are one hitters that look like a cigarette, that may be where he got the confusion... It's plainly NOT a bowl, but since you had no lighter on you or in your car I don't get how the cop could possibly have mistaken it for something like that.

Neither here nor there
Did they ticket you or charge you with anything?

This is the kind of behavior that makes people dislike law enforcement. Shouldn't they know SOMETHING about the laws they are supposed to enforce? Who knows what kind of real crime they could have been taking care of while wasting time on your PV.

Dude that sux. If you really don't have a problem with the police department, go bang on their doors until they give you back your stuff. Unless you live in an area were the cops hold a grudg.

One of the problems and it's something that even the people on this site seem to be unaware of is that there are people using pv's (yes even 510's) to vaporize Recreational Chemicals. These are powdered synthetic versions of everything you can think of. They are being used in pv's. It doesn't sound like this cop has a clue but you never know.

No, I did have a Smoke51 (backup PV) in my center console with my carts/atty/batteries. That is the one that looks like a cigarette, but that was taken too. I did have a lighter in my car, because I've only been vaping for 2 weeks and haven't cleaned out the car yet. I had better luck with the Smoke51, because it looks like a cigarette. What triggered the stop I guess, was that it was a shiny silver DSE901 (with black cartridge). I might go with another color next time.
