So I just started vaping a few weeks ago. I did some research online and ordered a V2 cigs kit.I found the ECF a few days later. I wish i would have found this forum first because i would have spent my money somewhere else.
Spent $200 with shipping

I ordered the standard kit. It comes with two kr-808 batteries...i ordered another longer battery and about 40 carts that are pre-filled with various flavours.

What i liked about it

-looked like i analog.
-easy to use (i preferred the button)
-charging is fast
-easy to carry around with you

What i hated about it

-vapor wasnt consistant
-flavour was ok but sometimes tastes metallic or battery like
-throat killed on slow long draws.....(only thing i could handle was the 6mg carts)
-on occasion i would burn my lips while inhaling (if i didnt use a drip tip)
-carts were inconsistent some lasted a while others not even close.

I could go on with what i didnt like but thats not why im posting.

I would like to purchase something that will keep me away from analogs and so far it has been 10 days.... but im not sure if i can make it.

I want lots of vapour....i dont want to kill my throat.....hate the dry feeling I get when using these v2cigs

I want something i can fill with liquid i purchase and not have to worry about it for a day. (i was a 3/4 pack a day smoker)

I have done a lot of reading and i am thinking of purchasing a Buzz Pro or KnightRider or Provari
That way i should be able to find something that i like that will work with it correct????

Would love to hear your thoughts and what i should buy.
Not sure if i should get a tank? HV cartomizer? LR cartomizer? So many things to choose from.

Thanks for the help its much appreciated.

Don't get completely scared away to the other end of the spectrum where you think you have to buy the most expensive, or the latest greatest rocket launcher looking product.

KR-808's are a long standing standard for vapers. Consider some of that type of cartomizers offered by other vendors here, that way the other hardware isn't wasted.

The juice and the quality of the cartomizer are most likely your problem, not the KR-808 model style itself.

If u only want to spend the money once get something more advanced so there's no desire to upgrade ill second a reo indestructable and lasts a day hassle free

Sent from my Nexus S using Tapatalk

I will say the mini does not last me all day for battery life.

Juice with a boge carto yes, but not a 600mah battery.

I don't know, i think if you can afford one of those monsters, go for it :)

I like cansuppliers advice, kr808's are not bad at all. I actually like them alot. I've never actually got burnt, but i have had my cartos get uncomfortably hot when chain vaping. But, drip tips fixed that. As for you throat problems, i think that could be a normal reaction to pg when you start vaping. When i started, my throat hurt, and i had bad dry mouth for a while, went away after about a week. If it is really bad, you might be allergic to PG. If you want to try to stick with the kr808's, maybe some new cartos, new juice, maybe something 100% VG, or a higher VG ratio anyway. Problem is, VG can be bad on cartos, too thick to wick properly.

Either way, good luck. I'm kind of pulling for one the crazy VV mods... seems like more fun.

It doesn't matter what ecig you are using. For juice to last all day you will need a mod with a juice feeder or a cheap carto tank. You could also use one of the larger cartomizers on the market and that should last most of the day depending how much you use it. A vv or vw ecig will give you a lot more control and you will be able to dial in the best flavor no matter what you attach to it. Good luck and have fun

The throat irritation may go away once you quite cigarettes 100% for a few days. There seems to be a connection there for some. I tried 2 cigarettes this month, each 2 weeks apart after being analog free since August. My throat irritations while vaping and upper back tightness/pain came back right away with one hell of a hang over the next morning. Couldn't believe one cig could become so incompatible to my biology and vaping joy like that.

It sounds like a Lava Tube/Knight Rider and a Smoktech Tank might be what your looking for at the most affordable price. Check out CanVape.

I wouldn't ditch the KR8, I love mine, and most users do as well ... it's is the juice and the nic level that is irritating your throat. I had the same issue with PG juice and too high nicotine levels ... I switched from 100% PG to 70-80% PG and that took care of the headaches and extreme dry mouth and throat ... like you, any nic level over 6mg is way too much throat hit for me, and totally unpleasant.

You just need to make some adjustments and find the best juice mix and nicotine levels for yourself. And another note, don't ever buy that many cartos unless and until you have first sampled the product. Not sure how you could remedy those prefilled carts, hopefully someone can suggest something so those don't go to waste.

I went through what I call "vapethroat" for the first 6 weeks of vaping, but mine went away. This is a pretty common thing. Drink lots of water, biotene mouth rinse helps a bit. A buzz pro or a provari with a tank is pretty easy to use, lasts all day and only have to fill in the morning. (I only have experience with those two, don't know about the knightrider) But I am not so sure that variable voltage is a necessity...with all of the different carto combinations you can use on a big bat fixed voltage device might be easier on the wallet. Needless to say I wouldn't know the exact combo that was right for me without first testing everything out on the provari. Hang in there every time you vape instead of smoking you are adding minutes to your life!!

The main problem these days is that folks have far too much choice compared to when I started.

I want lots of vapour, perhaps you been watching too many videos. How much vapour were you exhaling when you smoked, a 10th to a 5th?

What was a normal drag off a cig? 2-3 seconds why are we tooting at 5-7+ seconds. The truth is if we took a 7 sec drag off a cig we would turn green and choke on it.

A no must no fuss system = an all mechanical mod topped off with a carto, it could be an LR but doesn't have to be. Just like rolling cigarettes ya fill 2-3 cartos the night before to last your day, more if needed and you carry a spare battery. Contrary to popular belief a carto does not last a pack of smokes more like 4-5 cigs YMMV. When the carto goes stale after 2-3 days, toss it and use a new one.

This is the simplified version, devices and liquids are extremely subjective.

I havent been watching to many videos.....the reason i want more vapour is because my lungs arent satisfied so i find myself chain vaping off a little 808.

It could be the 70/30 they use in there carts that im not happy with and i have to use alot more VG.

Can anyone suggest a cartomizer type or anything that i could use with my 808 battery that can handle 100% VG or even 70% VG?

Thanks everyone for there input. Its much appreciated.

And incase your all wondering im still analog free :)

Battery life is translatable to mah specs. A 650mah battery will last you 5 or 6 hours and you can carry a spare easily. Cartos are critical. If you have cartos that don't feed, juice that is harsh, or a metal barrel without a plastic drip tip to insulate your lips, you will be miserable.

You can splurge on an expensive mod or you could move to an eGo, Riva, or E-power style ecig, anything with a 510 thread, and get long battery life, Boge LR 510 carto compatibility, and good taste and vapor. There's nothing wrong with the KR808. You just need to find good cartos and juice that suits your taste. Battery life is the plus you will get from a different ecig. It's no fun being tied to a home charger, although a cigarette lighter adapter can remedy that and allow you to roam and still charge batteries.

If you stay with the KR808, you will need more than two batteries to gain charge freedom. 70pg/30vg is a good mix and popular with the masses. Cartos like that mix, but the more VG you have in the mix, the more problems you will have with carto life. The filler gets clogged and feeds slowly with high vg juices. PG in a mix doesn't necessarily mean harshness. Read some juice reviews and you will find some suggestions for juices that are tasty with light throat hit.

100% VG will clogged cartos quicker than you can say Jack Robinson. I vape 100% VG and have to dilute my mixes with 20% distilled water to = PG.

If your lungs are craving, it is not the VG etc... it is nic. What mg are you vaping now? I suggest upping your nic some. This is not uncommon in the beginning. You are goign through withdrawals and that is normal. The nic fits you display are classic with too low mg. KR8s are good devices.

It sounds like you're ready to upgrade. As for an all day vape juice wise either fill multiple cartos as was suggested or get a tank system although tanks generally have a learning curve. Battery wise the E-Power might be what you'd want to look at. Generally speaking remember when purchasing a PV 100 mah= 1 hour moderate vaping.
Good Luck.

if your looking for a good carto for the 808 try one with a horizontal coil
i liked those the best try the kangers
but my experience with cartos are not good id take an atty over a carto 8 days a week
and i know ill get a 100 carto fans saying how can u drip all day and all that but i really find an atty to produce much more consistent vapor throat hit and flavour . only downside is 3 drips every 5-7 puffs but i just treat 3 drops like one cig and hat seems to help
ive upgraded to a bottom feeder so my atties are always wet and the last me a long time

o i just noticed one more thing
u said your using prefilled carts and that may be one problem , prfilled is never great from what ive heard ,
with my cartos ,once filled i only get maybe an hour of decent vaping before i have to open it up and add 5-8 drops on the filler , or a top off . if u have prefilled u dont have iquid to top up try getting some blanks and juice and filling your self

Probably the majority of vapers now use cartos. They're easy to fill and leaking issues are eliminated. My experience with attys is bad. I don't care about dripping. Attys require cartridges that you have to insert in the atty upside down, which doesn't make any sense. Cartomizers are attys and tank in one. That makes sense. Plus cartos come in different lenghts, which means you're not limited to small capacity tanks.
