I picked my grand up from the post office yesterday and have been playing around with it since then. I like the feel/heft of it in my hand, but for me it's pretty big. I have really small hands and to squonk it I have to use both hands. One to hold and one to squonk. Part of that is also because the bottle feels really stiff and it's hard for me to squonk it enough to fill the cup. Does it soften up a bit with use? I prefer a mod I can use with one hand, and am experimenting around with different techniques to adapt to it.

Any suggestions? I'm all ears. I do like the feel of the grand, and I really like this particular color combo (green with black door), so it's a keeper regardless if I have to use 1 or 2 hands. I just probably won't use it as much as I thought I would. If I decide to order another as a backup it will definitely be a mini though.

The bottle will definitely soften up. With a little practice you will be able to squonk with 1 hand, if right-handed hold grand in right hand with bottle hole facing you and use right thumb to squonk. Good Luck, you have made a great choice, a little patience with the learning curve and you will be in vape heaven. Good Luck.

Squonking should be easy and done lightly. You are oversquonking if you are filling the cup. You should never be squonking juice into the cup. To squonk with a 510, you should barely see a glint of juice at the holes and it should disappear as soon as you release. Another thing, if the bottom of the tube is jammed against the bottle wall, it creates a suction that interferes with feeding. Also, double check the o-ring in your cap and make sure it isn't wonky.

Ah, the size...I'm a Mini gal myself. :) I'm in Louisville if you want to try a Mini.

Ahhh....so you don't have to fill the cup? Sweet, that'll help. I'm working the bottle over right now trying to make it a little less stiff. Also the tubing had a tiny little kink above the cap, so I scooted the cap up a bit higher to straighten it out and that seems to have helped some. I'm down around Ft. Campbell:)

There's a green/silver Mini to trade for a Grand in the classies right now, maybe you'd be more comfortable with a smaller form factor.

I'm going to keep working on techniques with holding and squonking one handed. The classified is a good idea if I decide I'd rather have a mini though. :)

The best way to squonk is to draw lightly on your cartos or atty and squonk at the same time. Do not fire, just draw. You will hear a little gurgle, and feel some resistance. Stop squonking and vape!
Watching for juice in the little holes was throwing me way off! I kept flooding or dry hits.
The blind squonk does very well.
And as said you should be able to hold the Grand using your thumb to squonk. You do not squonk when ya fire!

Much better this way! I was always watching the cup to see juice there. This makes it a lot easier. Thank you!!

I squonk by holding the Grand in my right hand with the squonk hole facing me. I use my thumb in the squonk hole. Without pushing on the firing pin, start drawing on the atomizer (driptip). While drawing( start drawing slightly before you apply pressure to the bottle) I apply a very light pressure to the bottle and gradually increase that pressure while drawing. I stop sucking on the atty and pushing on the bottle when I feel a change in the resistance of the draw or I hear a slight gurgle. I release the pressure on the bottle and then draw on the atomizerer without firing. This will bring your juice up to the atomizer coil. Then I hit the firing pin and draw on the atomizer. When the hit starts to feel hot or different in any way, I repeat the process. It becomes an unconscious method very fast. It only takes a little bit of juice in the atty for a good 7 or 8 hits. I think most new Reonauts over squonk then have problems getting good hits. Hope this helps.

I'm a leftie, but even I finally mastered blind squonking with my right thumb. I wish there were a southpaw Reo. I do have a left-handed Phidias, and left-handed Phidias vaping is much easier than right-handed.

I'm a lefty as well, and when I hold the Grand in my left hand, the atty's on the bottom, the button's on top, and I fire it with my index finger. In my left hand, squonking is a 2-handed process.

I am right handed. I hold my Grand in my left hand.
Atty is at the top, button on the bottom when looking down at it.
I have my little finger underneath, and thumb on the button to vape.
To squonk, I bring my thumb down and into the hole. Blind squonk while drawing.
Then put my thumb back on top.
All with only one hand.
My hands are not big.

Here ya go Karen:

I guess I am BI-REO - I can use either hand :)

Well, so am I! But I do find that with my WOOD REO's I tend to use only my left hand. Wrap my hand around one of them and find I can hardly put it down, much less switch hands!
