been e-smoking for about a month, with some analogue still mixed in. I've scoured the forum but haven't found anything quite on point. Ecigs are messing me up. Two, three puffs and I am a space cadet. Droopy, heavy eyes, cloudy, foggy brain, slightly incoherent, trouble concentrating, extremely tired. I do not think it is nicotine overdose or withdrawal - I am still smoking analogues here and there. I think I have nicotine under control. I'm trying to stick with ecigs, but this side effect is creating problems with my work (or lack there of!).

I have juices from JC, Pure 555 and RY4, all are PG, various amounts of nicotine. I think it is slightly less terrible when I cut heavily with VG, but it's hard to tell.

Has anyone else had this? Is it a really random manifestation of PG sensitivity? I don't really have any of the other common symptoms except maybe a touch of dry mouth.

Wow, that doesn't sound good. I've read up on some of the symptoms of PG allergic reactions and don't recall anything like that, at least not in that combination.

Have you been having these reactions from the get-go? Since you started vaping?

Do you have this reaction with prefilled-carts? Or have you tried them?

Sounds like you're mixing alot of stuff and just wondering if that could be related.

Same thing happened to me.... that's why I stopped using the e-cig. I tried all different levels of nicotine and am 100% confident nic wasn't the cause. I'm pretty sure it wasn't the pg either because I felt no irritation or throat dryness. There's just something in eliquid that doesn't hit me right.

My only symptom was that awful "foggy" feeling that I had ALL THE TIME for the 2 months I used the e-cig. After awhile I just got tired of not being able to concentrate at work and enough was enough. There are other people who have had these symptoms... I believe there was a post about the e-cig making the user feel semi "stoned" - look that one up. I would check out old health section posts. You're not alone.... Good luck.

Here's the post

Your mom said not to say...
How come I can never find something like that, I have to pay $300 an oz for my white widow! I would gladly have that problem but I understand that if it's not something your looking for that it would be disconcerting for sure. All joking aside, it would worry my if it happened. Good luck, if I was in your shoes I think I would talk to my doctor about it for sure. This is in all probability an extreme allergic reaction to the PG, or not even an allergic reaction, it could just have that effect on your body chemistry with no actual allergy to it, hard to say really this is all so new.

haha.... it's not a good "stoned" ---its kind of like the tired feeling after being stoned where you're just tired and lethargic --- all the negatives without the positives -- not a good state to be in 100% of the time :D

it's been pretty consistent since I got the devices to work properly. About 2 weeks. I recently got pre-filled carts from HealthCabin - those create the most extreme symptoms and I will not be using the rest of them before washing them out.

I am not mixing the liquids with each other, but have cut a few with VG so I'd get more vapor. I had a little DK coffee juice left in a 3ml bottle, maybe .5ml, filled the rest up with VG. That specific mix seems to be OK, but there is very little nic in it so it's not a long term solution.

I've only been using the Pure 555 first thing in the morning - it's uncut, 24mg and it helps me get over the morning hump. Only 1 drop a day, walking to the subway, so I can't tell if that one is making this happen or if it's just my regular morning grogginess.

It's tough to isolate because one I get "cloudy" it takes hours to go away. Writing this post is taking nearly all my faculties and I have not hit the ecig in over an hour.

I'm hoping it is PG so I can just order some VG juices and be good.

First thing I would do is set aside ALL MY CURRENT JUICES. Then I would order a new bottle from the supplier and try them individually, make sure to note whether it's PG or VG based, I would order one of VG, and one of PG if possible. Checking each one until you experience these symptoms. The only downside to that method is that you are risking exposing yourself to the problem again, with any luck it will turn out to be a specific juice or ingredient. I would also stay away from Health Cabin products for the time being until you figure it out.

I definetly say stop,,, I had a funny reaction to using Capella drops and I tried to approach using them in different ways but no luck I was having some sort of instant reaction so I stopped ,, sent all my flavors to my friend and (she loves them, vapes them all the time "sigh") do think we all have differences in our chemistrey make up that you just have to be smart enough to just stop...

Do you think that snus stuff might work better for you, have you tried any of the VG liquid or 0 nic liquid ??? tried liquid from another vender???

hope something works for you,,

Thanks for all the quick tips. A friend just reminded me that PG is the same main ingredient as in fog juice, which I hate at clubs, because it makes me sleepy! i'm so out of it i didn't put 2 and 2 together before.

found this on wikipedia under fog machine: "In May 2005, a study published in the American Journal of Industrial Medicine [5]... This study found that short-term exposure to glycol fog was associated with coughing, dry throat, headaches, dizziness, drowsiness, and tiredness."

seems reasonable to me. I'm just glad I'm in the minority. I really love ecigs and the freedom they are providing nicotine addicts. We have the right to choose a tobacco alternative that isn't owned by big pharma.

flashpoint: Please see your doctor. I had a weird reaction to them...I thought! I was jerking almost like a seizure, but no loss of consciousness. some other minor things like slight nausea, upset tummy, etc. I was ready to go to the hospital that night, but it stopped. Saw my doctor right after the weekend this happened. After checking me out he said that the symptoms could very well have been due to the WITHDRAWAL FROM TOBACCO. He is not a proponent of ecigs because of the lack of studies. However after checking my lungs (best he had heard them in 10 years) and running blood work again, he made it a point to say that he was not negative about them because of the improvements in my health. He also checked my potassium levels. I do know when you quit tobacco, you get sleepy. Everytime hubs quits, he sleeps 20 hours a day if possible. No one on here can diagnose your problems, I say see a doctor and be honest about the problems and the ecigs.

please see your doctor!:(:(

Hi Flashpoint--the symptoms you describe are exactly what I got
from the first few puffs of my ecig, except it sounds a wee bit worse
for you.

I'm pretty sure it's a PG intolerance for me. I bought some glycerin and tested
that, no fogginess. I'll know for sure once my zero-PG gets here.
It might very well be as simple as that for you too. Good luck!

My next step is ordering some VG juices. It seems like JC, Vermont Vapors and ECOpure are all made without PG. Can anyone confirm that?

ECOpure contains no PG. It is made with food grade VG, ionized water, the nicotine is 99.8% pure and the ethyl malto and menthol are the flavorings. No PG. Try it out here - 2 day shipping although if you order now you'll likely get it Monday.

The Rich flavor has the most flavoring(ethyl malto but no menthol):
ECOpure juice

Or if you want to avoid flavoring for now try the Krystal 36mg nic unflavored:

ECOpure juice

and cut it to the nic level you want with ECOmix (unflavored no nic VG/ECOpure):

PG liquid

1:1 mix will give you 18mg nic, for example.

I felt something very similar to this my first day of vaping. I was studying all day, had one cigarette in the morning (my last one), and started vaping right when the package came around noon. Later in the evening my thoughts were extremely clouded. dEFinitionofEPIC was dead on... it's like how you feel after being stoned. I just kinda felt like I had lost 40 IQ points. This was using the MARB-HI carts that came with the 510.

I've been vaping for a week now. Your post made me all paranoid now of course. It seems like my thoughts are a bit clouded, but then again, I just got off work, vaped, took Adderall, and am working on a huge cup of coffee. So maybe my brain is switching gears at the moment, haha...

But I have been using ECOpure the last few days and I've felt mostly fine. Guess I just have to keep an eye on it... if anything, I will probably keep vaping, just less and less. I'd rather have a clouded mind for a few weeks than go back to analogs. (Although I really hope I can just keep on vaping =D)
