Dee I glad MommaDee is is doing so well and sounds like you're bouncing back as well. I just got my first chance to sit down since Tuesday morning. Two days of seminars, meetings and work. I did check in on me phone when I could. My prayers still for your Mom.

Kia is coming home for the first time this weekend  and you could guess how happy her Dad is :w00t:. She is shooting some more scenes for a feature length film. She had a couple other shoots before she moved. We'll get Saturday evening and and early Monday morn.... And I'll take it !!!

I'm about 4 miles by air from one of the oldest rivers in the world.....the Cape Fear....We also have the distinct geography of the Piedmont/Sandhills and Coastal Plain all very nearby....The Cape Fear up around here has many deep cut feeder creeks....They flood but drain pretty quick....On down in the Coastal Plain things flatten out pretty quick...Plus there's a lot of swamps...All the flood waters that remain are east of here...

Thanks again for the well wishes !! The game went fine tonight though bleechers ain't exactly comfy...Kinda cool + kinda old = kinda stiff.....Gotta get back and check on Mom tomorrow...........I had Auntie G deliver the cake to her daughter, Mom in law and Mom......

Woohoo to Wharf on Kia coming back home to visit. :toast:
My son moved out quite awhile ago and I still feel that way when I get to spend time with him.

LD, I hear you on the hard bleacher seating. We have those foam cushions (thick) with a handle made in to them that we take to GS Tball games. They help alot!

If anyone is interested, Charlie Noble (vendor) just released a recipe of a juice that they discontinued. Pretty darn cool of them IMHO This is the recipe link
The Not-So Discontinued Series: PB Cereal

All vendors should do the same IMHO It will not do them any good anymore so why not help the vapers out that have been buying and using it?

El Dee - glad to hear things are going in a positive direction for your mom!

Almost 4" since yesterday morning, due to keep raining through tomorrow night. Getting a little seepage at the one spot on a basement wall that indicates the ground is fully saturated. I'll gladly take a few wet towels over the weekend to have a happy well system :)

(Maybe get off my .... next spring, put in that little French drain segment on the small rise next to us. Less than 50' total run would get it past the house.)

No more drought :D

I know this is going to sound crazy but, please be careful doing that french drain. Wear a dust mask if you will be digging in damp dirt. That's how my husband got so sick years ago and ended up spending 3 months in the hospital with most of it in ICU on full life support. Never knew 100% for sure but it is suspected that he breathed in a mold from the dirt while installing a french drain under our house in Charleston. He was sick as sheet.

We lived on the water there plus we had some dirt hauled in from a site where a very old plantation house was just torn down when we built the house.

My approach will be lazy. It's all outside, not in an enclosed area, and I'll do a simple trench with a grub hoe, work with the slope, not have to dig too deep :)

Okay. I can't help but to warn people. One of those things that most people don't think about.

Finally raining here. Just started. After 3 days forecasted (thurs, fri, sat) and none in sight until now. Supposed to end by mid afternoon tomorrow.

Hours were cut some at work. All these regs and the pa crap going on, boss is getting real disgusted. :( I don't blame her, it's a truly disgusting mess our country is handing us.
