For plantar i have a trick that works for the flare ups. Freeze a bottle of water and roll it under your foot. Helps a lot when i have the burning foot.

Not a secret anymore lol

Tracy, I am betting that you have high arches. Not giving them proper support is where the problems start. Another thing that I forgot to mention is to freeze a water bottle. Put it on the floor and roll the arch of your foot on it. The ice will help with the inflammation and it feels great too. :)

Good to see ya, Oly! Yep, the frozen water bottle is great :)

Dang vet bills are kicking my azz...Chase has another ear infection, the 2nd one in 6 weeks. Another $200 vet bill :( But I'll eat ramen noodles to take care of my baby.

Darn, Bov. Can't you get the vet to call in the meds without a visit? Poor guy. :( Poor you. :(

Got the handrail project completed.....Rocks all mortared in and stuff....A little sore but damn glad it's done...

Hoping Chase's ear infection clears quickly....Through the years I've had a couple of ear infections and they really bring the pain....Spike has a 5:30 Monday at the vet....I got him on a wellness plan and it's a comprehensive exam....

Saw an Italian made squonker during a search....The name evades me now....Looked promising so I checked it out...Ergonomic they said....Looked much like my square edged Dagger and ergonomic???? Well???? Knock your eyes out price of $$$$$$$465 and that's the main reason I can't remember the name of it....DANG!!!!!!

Got a full load in the dryer....Not gonna do anything resembling hard work today....Had planned on riding the mower and cleaning up a little around the pharm but rain overnight likely will squash that...Probably gonna hit the Lowes and pick the driver/drill/vacuum....Mom scheduled to arrive back home tomorrow....Hope all that goes well so wish me luck.........

Morning folks :)

Dee, I'm glad you're taking a much needed day off!! Hoping Mamma Dee's homecoming goes well

Salem, Chase has another chronic problem that I didn't mention...his .... glands get impacted and the vet has to empty them. They changed his ear meds too, to help keep it from becoming resistant to the antibiotics.

Good luck to LD and to momma LD!!!!
Hey, she has come this far. It will be smooth sailing now.
Bet she will be very glad to be home.

Bov, you did mention that he has a disease somewhere along the line. Like you, I would sell everything that I own to care for my animals if needed. So glad that there are people like us in the world that truly care for them. :) So sad that vets all want to make a fortune off us.

Yes, Chase has Cushing's Disease. No cure, we can only manage his symptoms. There are meds to suppress his excess cortisol, but they are dangerous and need constant monitoring. The prognosis is the same, whether the Cushing's is directly treated of not, so I see no point in putting him through the super stressful monthly testing if I put him on the Cushing's meds. He's a little over a year into his prognosed 2 years of survival. That's why it's so important to catch these infections early. As long as he's comfortable and happy, I'll keep fighting.

Good luck with mama Dee!!! I too believe that she will be happy to be HOME!:) I hope it isn't too stressful for you ElDee, and glad to hear you are resting up today.

Bov, Bella (the Pom) drags her .... too! I think that's why she does it....those .... glad issues. I know all too well the struggle with cushings as my Sheba had it too. :(. Hugs

I lived just a few miles from the base. Right on the reservoir.
Hope you feel better soon, oly.

Was the reservoir where there was a small beach section next to the road with water on both sides? If so that was where my brother and cousin were carrying a canoe back to the truck when it got struck by lightning. Metal canoe with wooden cross pieces they were holding on to.

Yep. That was it. That bridge was on Snake road. Only issue with the small sections of beach for me were that the reservoir is slap full of gators. We lived water front and it was a normal thing to have gators hanging out in our back yard.

Of course people do learn to live with them just fine. The Cooper that you and I both used to ski in was loaded as well. :D

Snake road that was the name, i forgot. Oh yeah we would ski both places, knowing about the gators. I worried more about the Water Moccasins in the cooper. we would stay far away from the weeds. It may have been false but we heard about a kid that went down in the weeds and died from numerous bites. We had gator pond on base that people would go feed marshmallows to the gators. Canoed in the pond too.

Buwhahahahahahaha!!! I think that everyone heard that "rumor" oly. The kid was skiing and fell into a bed of moccasins? Yeah, pretty sure there was no truth to that. I agree about worrying about the moccasins more. At least you could see the gators.

We had ducks in our back yard. The gators were so bad in the summer that they knew not to go in the water. Our back yard was very private so it was not unusual for me to go out there in my PJs.

I went out one morning to change the water in the baby pool that we had for our ducks. I lifted it to dump it and a freaking moccasin was coiled up underneath. I tossed the pool and ran screaming like a girl lol My screams were so loud that a neighbor came to check on me. There I was in my PJs :D

Morning folks :)

Now that sounds like me, Salem! I'm all girl when it comes to snakes

Believe it or not, I am okay with them if they are not poisonous and / or a threat to me. I believe that everything has a right to live.
