Happy Sunday All !!!... 98 to 103º 'til October ... Ok, probably not that long:lol:

Mrs Wharf and I are working on our itinerary for the Land of the Rising Sun!! We will be in Osaka primarily. We are looking at trips to Kyoto Bamboo Forest, Nara were the Deer come up to you and bow for food and the Osaka Castle. My dad was stationed in Nagoya during the Korean War. We are going to try stop by there on the way to Tokyo.
The last two days will take us to Tokyo and then to a Raykan Onsen. A Raykan is a Japanese Inn that started in the 8th century. The Onsen are the hot mineral springs baths and these have sulphur. In Nor Cal there is hot mineral springs that we've gone to many times. It has sulphur and lithium and gives a nice calming effect.
We have 2 1/2 weeks to go and I'm sure things will change, but mostly we're looking forward to tons of Kia (((Hugs)))

Wharf, I was stationed in Korea, in 1970 and passed through Japan on my way there. I didn't get to see much during my 2 hour stay in Japan, but while still in the air, I got to see the main island all lit up. I also saw Mt. Fuji as we flew by it. It's considered a holy mountain by the Japanese, so no planes are allowed to fly over it.

A funny story: My Dad is a WWII Veteran, having served in the China, Burma, India (CBI) theater. Forgetting that, when I got back home, I asked him if he had ever been to Japan, when he was in the Army Air Corps. He angrily told me NO !!! He still hates them.

Beautiful Baldwinsville (CNY)
We're scheduled for a heatwave this weekend into early next week. Heat index Sunday is due to be over 105F for 7 hours -- that's warm for us wimpy CNYers :)

Thankfully I'm about done shoveling sand at camp. We'll get 5 yards of soil in Friday morning, I should get a good chunk of that out onto the point during the day (& seeded). A couple hundred feet of hose should reach it from the house for watering (since it's at camp, no risk of insufficient water there).

Saturday should be a play day, same for Sunday, maybe kayaking early Sat then just take the boat out to a nice swimming area. The in-laws are coming up for another visit starting Sunday, though with the heat they'll probably stay inside.

I finally broke down and ordered a set of proper 18" roll-in dock tires (good sale at Overtons), to put on the boat at end of season -- no more futzing with the little 13" jobs, and issues with bolt bending.

Sitting at the beach house on a grass cutting/tree trimming mission....There is a tropical depression forming right over me atm....It's a little weird out as the pressure is low and makes the air seem heavy....I'm gonna get the grass cut but I'm a little tired of hearing about that tree...It's gotta be well over a hundred years old and majestic IMO....It's on my land....Now next hurricane it could well blow over onto the neighbors house....Maybe they should move inland....like Minnesota....I'm about ready for a break after the Spring I had.....Seems everyone else enjoys life while all I do is hustle.....There seems no end in sight.....

Kia hugs!!! Lots and lots of Kia hugs! I can’t wait to hear all about you and the misses adventures when you return. :)

You need a break ElDee!! Tell those neighbors to kick rocks. You need to kick back and enjoy some summer before it flies on by like it always seems to.

Yes Mark, we are in for a muggy old heatwave this weekend. After two gorgeous days of a nice breeze and lower humidity, the stickies start tomorrow and climb from there. Plthhhhhh!

Take the store manager position they said...it’ll be fun they said.....plthhhhh again! I had to fire someone last weekend and now I’m hustling to find a replacement. Until I do, it looks like I’ll have to fill in at the shop. (Along with doing my own job) Eleven hour shifts are not my idea of a good time. I’ll say it one more time, PLTHHHHHH!

Good night all. Zzzzzzzzzz

This is North Carolina....not the tropics....not the West Coast of Africa...My little handheld NOAA Weather radio indicated a tropical depression was forming here yesterday...At one point it was raining buckets and I watched the rotation of the clouds as the depression began to turn directly over me....Thinking it moved off shore and then North but not sure...For sure the weather was definitely strange yesterday....

That tree trimming lady has been all nice and stuff here lately...Know one thing though....There was never any trust there and I double damn sure got my eye on her....Neighbor next to her lost a lawnmower that was chained to the steps....they even took the steps....Same house where I found the storage building lock cut when the door blew open a couple years back....That cost me a trip to Lowes for a padlock and an afternoon dealing with the cops....That storage building is within easy sight of tree trimming lady's back deck where her two 30 something daughters with no visible means of income or transportation smoke the Hell outta some cigarettes...and yeah...entertaining neighborhood riff raff....I've seen suspicious activity aplenty....Who would cut a lock and just leave???? Someone who could keep an eye on things and strike when the time was right....Lawn mower and steps gone with the wind.....Seems that would have been a real trick to pull off without someone hearing or seeing something....Thing that bothers me most is the two girls have went out of their way to let me know they keep an eye on my place when I'm not here....That's comforting....There's a new house directly across the street.......Recently purchased by a Vietnam Vet who seems to love sitting on his front porch with a clear view of my house and yard....that is comforting....tree trimmer came over yesterday when I was dragging limbs and commented about the Vet being very nosey.....Looked to me like he was sitting there eating some noodles outta a cup.....Bottom line they don't like him sitting there watching....I'm good and when I get the chance I'll go and meet him and his wife.....Meanwhile I'll trim on the tree until it's gone....The branch over tree trimmer's house....Well.....that will be the last one to go....Told her yesterday if things didn't move along fast enough she was welcome to hire someone to trim whatever she wants....This place was mostly wooded in 1993....I've dripped a lot of sweat getting it where it's at today....The whole reason behind cutting the tree is so we can maneuver with the boats when getting in or out....planning on starting a boat house in the future....no tree means no shade for tree trimmer....Gonna be mighty hot smoking those cigarettes....Pretty sure I've only got enough juice to get back home on so there won't be any tree trimming today....I gotta FLY!!!!

Sounds to me like your new porch sitting, noodle eating Vietnam vet will be a great neighbor :)

I'd had to remind myself that I'm in SC and not Florida the last couple of weeks. Hot and humid, thunderstorms most every late afternoon sure brings back memories of all my years in Fl!

Hope you find a decent employee soon, Tracy. That's a lot of hours for you!

Thanks Bov and Jerry. I am interviewing tomorrow so hopefully I’ll have the position filled pronto! I’ll like my check, but I’ve been working only 16.5 hours per week for almost two years, so 11 hour days are going to be something else! This too shall pass.

I agree with Bov ... befriend the vet ElDee!!! Your watchdog in disguise. ;)

I better hit the hay....goodnight all!

The 11 hours weren’t so bad! Wish I could say the same for the interviewee (?) today.
The 13 hours tomorrow might sting a little bit but I’ll live. Lol
Two interviews scheduled for Saturday...cross all of your crossables for me will ya? It’s looking like this could go on through the weekend and into next week as well. My mom is not happy. You know what they say....when mama ain’t happy, ain’t nobody happy! *ducks*
