About 11" of snow overnight, expected to get about 21" total through tomorrow afternoon (lake effect time [emoji3]).

It was definitely brisk clearing the driveway this a.m. It was 4 when I started, 8 now, not supposed to break 10F until Tuesday p.m. Those are the actual temperatures, not counting the 15 - 20 mph winds up through Tuesday. I had an excellent fire going yesterday in the wood stove in the great room, same today and will do it again tomorrow; even run in fireplace mode it adds a lot of warmth on chilly days [emoji3]

Time for a little break (pancakes and bacon, DW is making them now[emoji106]), then clearing the backyard for the pooches.

We're supposed to get to @ 32* today....I'm inside resting....

Wednesday everything was fine as I left the parts store....As I got into the Tacoma to leave a black curtain came down....Just as the curtain almost blacked out everything it came back up....Head swimming wildly I sat there trying to get it together....I drove home@ 15 miles and went into the shop to work on the Toyota's exhaust...I could tell the muffler was gonna make the shock difficult to get on and since I had a new shock I went in that direction....Gas shock and a lot of straining I got it on and tightened down....I was laying under the truck when it all went immediately South....The curtain....head swimming....can't walk....I managed to get to the rear of the truck and sit down....There I got hot and sweaty in a 50* shop...Finally I got to where I could get back out to the Tacoma and just sat there trying to get my sheet together....No insurance and no doctor so I went and bought a BP moniter.....First readings @156 over 102....Highest I saw the top number was 170 while I was in the emergency room....I'm waiting on them to call and schedule a follow up to deal with meds/stress test/echocardiogram....so I'm told...they sent me home with no meds after deciding I didn't need to sit in observation over the weekend.....

My only shot at lowering my BP as quickly as possible???? No more vaping....I'm taking no position on anything here....every situation is different....Nicotine withdrawals are a sum beech.....So there I sat with what had happened and no pipe to ease the pain....Head swimming, vision off, balance here and there, irritable as the devil....This am BP was 145/97....My head is finally clear enough to type this out though it's still a push....

I've not struck a lick since Wednesday....The heart attack enzyme wasn't present in my blood and a CT scan didn't reveal anything though I've got little faith in emergency room docs....I'm gonna take it easy as possible until I get the follow up stuff done...It's been a Hell of a few days not knowing what was nicotine withdrawals and what might be damage from Wednesday...A little icing for the cake....I let Spike out yesterday am and he manages to find a tick....middle of January and a tick....bit me right on the throat....Can't make this sheet up....

Prayers for you Dee. Is there someone that could take you to a different hospital? In these parts you can get free hospital care if you qualify and it does cover major operations and such. You should find out if any local hospitals have a similar program.

    UNC does offer some programs.

    Take care of yourself!

(I went nic-free for several weeks, when getting a couple items taken care of, mixed up some 0 nic of my all day vape. I did go back to nic when things were over, but 2mg is pretty light weight.)

I’m happy you are resting ElDee. I also know the concern to not have insurance. You get the medical care you need and worry about the financial means later. There are programs to help.

It’s cold here too. Maddie has a delayed opening today bc temps are so low. Today will definitely be a bit warmer than yesterday! I think we are looking at the 20s later today.
It surely beats the 5 degrees with a wind chill of -10 of yesterday morning!

Dee, I'm glad you're taking this seriously and resting. I can only imagine how anxious you are. TIAs, or what we call mini strokes won't show on a cat scan since there is no lasting damage, but it can be a precursor to a full blown stroke. Like everyone else has said, do what you need to do and worry about the cost later. You may qualify for Medicaid if your work is under the table.

I don't recall you ever mentioning that you are on any meds (except when you took the Harvoni for Hep C) but a high BP spike like that sounds unusual if you have never had a BP problem.

I know you have lots of family and friends there, but please let us know if we can do anything! I'm only a couple of hours away and would be there in a heartbeat if you need
