I went back and re-read and yes you did in fact say it was just dual 26g.... My bad... Not sure why you are getting 2x or 3x the TH, but like I mentioned it may have to do with placement. It may seem because they look to be the same height, I am guessing it is because of the center point to which you are lining them up to the airflow, but the twisted I think is a thicker build and that will put the top of the coil higher in relation to the flow. Try lowering the twisted coils a little on the build.
I only vape "1" liquid, been that way for over 3yrs now, and it helps tremendously with different builds to different atty's. Easier to compare. I would suggest putting the same liquid in both and see if that makes a difference in the vape. It could also be a possibility that the liquid you are vaping on the twisted setup needs to be a lower nic level. Try mixing it down with a little straight PG or VG and see if that works.
I fell into the magical spell of the Odin from Russ and went full bore and acquired 5 of them in a very short period of time. They were a decent vape with certain setups in them, but the thing that put me off the most was the leaking out the AFC... Drove me nuts. Every pocket my device went into had a

juice spot in it within minutes. It even leaked just sitting on the table next to me. I tried everything from coil placement to switching back to cotton, yet nothing kept them from leaking... I will say, it wasn't so much the juice as it was the condensation that would seep out of it. My theory was the relation of the negative posts to the AFC was where the problem occurred or that there was too much material between the post and the edge of the atty. The condensation just seemed to collect there and exit the AFC easily. Not sure exactly, but that is my theory. Though the Derringer also has negative posts machined into the atty, it doesn't have the same effect at all. At least that I have discovered yet and I've been vaping it for more than a month now.
I will say the atty that made me sell all 5 of my Odin's was the Mephisto. I own 2 of them and in my opinion, everyone should own at least 1 of them. It is the atty I compare everything else to. I haven't had a bad setup in either of mine. As far as a true 22mm atty goes, (imo), there is not a better one on the market today. It is very easy to build and vapes exceptionally good. I would add that I have no leaking with it either. Nothing po's me more than an atty that leaks... If I were to change anything about it, that would be smaller post holes. That is all... There has been talk by Tom to do an 18mm version of it, but I fear that will change the vape of it too much and it just won't be as good. Would I buy one? Yes I would, but with caution though... As my mother always said, "If it ain't broke, it don't need fixin'"....
