The FDA is at it again by trying to circumvent a court ruling through legislation in NY state.
Received an e-mail form vaporsetc this morning that is very unnerving.
Go to
NVC Stop the ban!
There is a form you can use to e-mail the legislature to try to STOP this bill.
If we let this pass without a fight we are giving in to Big Brother who wants us to go back to analogs or something worse.
Don't delay, do it today so there will be a tomorrow for us.

CASAA's legal director has posted all the contact information for the members of the NYS Assembly's Health Committee here:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...gent-nys-outright-sales-ban-agenda-again.html

Telephone calls and faxes are usually the most effective means of sending messages. Snail mail can be effective, but since there was not enough notice provided regarding Tuesday's meeting, there isn't time for mail sent by USPS to get to the committee members.

I want to echo what Elaine is saying about the importance of faxes and phone calls. Emails can be rather easily ignored by legislators, but faxes and phone calls take up staff time . . . and that most definitely gets noticed. :)

It is criticically important (when contacting NY Assembly Health Committee members) to urge them to AMEND the bill so it bans e-cigarette sales to minors, and to oppose the bill if it isn't amended.

Also, Republicans on the committee are more likely to be receptive to amending and/or opposing the bill.

Email sent from the great white North. I personalized it to me, hope that was okay.

Absolutely! Much more effective than for them to receive what appears to be a bunch of mass-produced identical messages.

I am happy to announce that Dr. Michael Sigel has sent a most impressive email message to the members of the health committee, and CASAA will follow up by faxing a copy of his email message to the office of each HC member, due to the fact that we know many legislators totally ignore their email.

It is starting to appear that a strategy is developing. Keep the news of meeting of pending ban meetings as quiet as possible so all efforts to address the legislation are in extreme reaction mode. When NY originally was brought up there was a lot of activity then the holidays and no word until this past week.

Probably a game plan suggested by our friends from the evil empire.

I too think personal stories are more impactful. The time put in is usually obvious... To them, effort=importance to sender. No matter how little the personalization, it's useful. I added my story, along with pertinent references to the bill at hand. My thinking was that it is always possible that the relatively small effort from me could result in something much larger. At least, one can hope!

If we want to have our voice heard we need to accept that E-mails
are the least effective form of communication.

1. Face to Face
2. Phone calls
3. FAX and Letters
4. E-mails

Sending E-mails requires little effort and gives us a sense of accomplishment
and participation. It's better than doing nothing but accept the fact emails
rank at the bottom of the list of effective forms communication.

I have a fax but noticed on another thread where a member mentioned
